This car was disassembled with the hopes of making a street legal car for Lime rock type races. The engine was all reworked, there is a new transmission, the rear end was reworked and rebuilt, new calipers, and loads of other work by a professional automotive machine shop. It was all paid for by the guy's grandmother. He left and never finished the car. It was running and driveable when my cousin put in in his garage. The new work has basically 0 miles. It now needs a fuel pump. It is not a turbo. The bills include things like : New exaust system-$297, Labor to rebuild and overhaul engine $1200, machine shop labor $2015, new transmission $2600, cluch pressure plate $100, and on and on to over $9000. The interior and body parts are here but it needs restoration of them. The windshield is not here. The car may be best used by putting the new parts in a worn out car. The owner is my cousin who is moving south but I get the car if it doesn't sell because he owes me cash. I would rather the cash so the car is for sale. It has to be picked up in Grafton Ma. Any questions can be answered by calling 508-987-5155. It is for sale locally so I reserve the right to remove the listing at any time. A deposit of $200 is required to pay pal within 24 hours and cash upon pickup. There is NO RESERVE so the car will sell once the minimum price is reached. Bidders with less that 5 feedbacks and less than 6 months on e-bay will be blocked unless they call me first so I understand that they know what they are doing.

Malaise Era All-Stars
Fri, 17 May 2013A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:

First new Datsun in decade sketched, set for Indian reveal
Mon, 01 Jul 2013Nissan's Datsun nameplate revival will begin with two models bound for the Indian market. Nissan has released sketches of a five-door hatchback based on the Micra (codenamed K2) and a top-down view of a hood that could potentially be from a sedan.
The company's press release says all will be revealed on July 15 in New Delhi, India. The Datsun lineup will be first offered in 2014 to that country's ride-deprived residents as well as Indonesia and Russia. Later in 2014, South Africa will join the list.
We've heard Nissan plans for Datsuns to share platforms with company-owned Lada. In January, we heard the projected price tag could be around $3,000 USD to compete with Chinese imports. The official press release (which can be read in full below) says nothing about either of these reports, however.
37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster
Tue, 11 Mar 2014When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
