1981 Datsun 280ZX 2+2. 114K miles. 99% rust free project car. Body is pretty straight except for a dent in the driver front fender. The paint is fair, maybe a 4 out of 10 with a couple paint chips, one on the passenger door and one on the roof behind the t-top and a few minor door dings. The t-tops seal up good without leaking and come with covers. Rear tires are good with plenty of tread left but the fronts are a little worn and probably need to be replaced. The interior is in fair condition. Seats are good with no rips or tears but the driver seat is missing the seat back cover. The door panels have a little bit of discoloration and the trunk area is a little rough but not too bad. The radio is missing. There is a dash pad cover that looks nice with no cracks. Power windows work. Headlights and taillights work. The engine will crank over but I can't get it to start. Overall, this is a pretty decent little project car. I have a clear Texas title in hand. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close. Cash in person or cashier's check sent through certified Fedex.

Autoblog Podcast #339:
Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
First new Datsun in decade sketched, set for Indian reveal
Mon, 01 Jul 2013Nissan's Datsun nameplate revival will begin with two models bound for the Indian market. Nissan has released sketches of a five-door hatchback based on the Micra (codenamed K2) and a top-down view of a hood that could potentially be from a sedan.
The company's press release says all will be revealed on July 15 in New Delhi, India. The Datsun lineup will be first offered in 2014 to that country's ride-deprived residents as well as Indonesia and Russia. Later in 2014, South Africa will join the list.
We've heard Nissan plans for Datsuns to share platforms with company-owned Lada. In January, we heard the projected price tag could be around $3,000 USD to compete with Chinese imports. The official press release (which can be read in full below) says nothing about either of these reports, however.
