1980 Datsun 280zx 10th Anniversary #2158 on 2040-cars
Evansville, Indiana, United States
Medical bills force sale of cherished vehicle. This survivor car is a joy to drive and a beautiful piece of art. It fires right up every time and I would drive it anywhere. It has cold ac and hot heat. The t-tops are tight and no cracks. The seals are all in great condition. 6 months ago had a nissan dealer in town had a certified tech go thru the car and the were amazed at the care that this car received over the years. It received a clean bill of health along with a good servicing. There are a few dimples in paint , put so minor they are hard to see. The black, under certain lighting, could use a clear coat. Some fading on deck of the gold. It is in remarkable condition overall. Every blue moon I will find a drop of oil from the main seal on the garage floor. Nissan tech said that it was so minor they recommend not doing anything to it since it rarely drops any at all. Factory window sticker comes with the car so does the shop manual and some various service parts I have accumulated. Dash is in perfect shape , no cracks. Carpets are excellant. Being garage kept all its life the frame is rust free. Tires are perelli and are in great shape. Rims are also in great shape. I Will Not Sell to Oversea buyers. I Will Not take Any Thing But CASH. I have a clear title in my hand. I would love to talk to anyone anytime about the z . I will NOt Deal with the text scammers and shipper scammers . I would love this car to go to a person who would love this car and take as good care of it as I do. Call 812-four five four 4 six two four

Fiat contemplating sub-brand to compete with Dacia, Datsun
Tue, 05 Feb 2013You can add Fiat to the admittedly short list of automakers considering a low-cost brand to rival Dacia. The inexpensive Eastern European brand from Renault-Nissan has performed on the balance sheet like a premium model line, and the money the alliance is taking off the table is encouraging other players to deal themselves in. Pretty soon Nissan's Datsun sub-brand will join the Dacia party, going on sale in Russia, Indonesia and India and will claim even more rubles, rupiahs and rupees for the parent company. Volkswagen recently said it will make a decision this year on a budget line for the Chinese market. With the euthanasia of Lancia and plans to move the Fiat brand upmarket, company CEO Sergio Marchionne wonders aloud to Automotive News Europe whether there could be room for a new budget brand underneath Fiat.
We're told that the initiative has been in the idea box for five years and even moved to the stage of name considerations, like Innocenti, but worries about profit kept it from realization. If such a range were to be developed, Marchionne says it couldn't be built in Italy and stay within budget, and the company is "analyzing its manufacturing capacity outside of Europe to see if a low-cost brand is viable."
Datsun to unveil second model later this month
Sun, 08 Sep 2013Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).
We'll have the full boatload of information on the newest member of the Datsun family when it debuts on September 17. Scroll on to read the full press release from Datsun.
Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
