1980 10th Anniversary 280 Zx, 35,100 Miles,excellent Condition,zero Rust on 2040-cars
Kingston, Pennsylvania, United States
This is a very nice ORIGINAL (35100 mile) RUST FREE example of a 1980 10th Anniversary 280ZX. There were 3000 individually numbered Anniversary models.2500 were gold and black while only 500 were red and black.Any article that I have come across call these ULTRA-RARE AND VERY COLLECTIBLE! This is #529 of 3000 and is in exceptional condition. The original owner lived in Oregon and she owned the car until early 2006.In 2007 the car was shipped to PA. where it has been stored in a heated garage and driven to local car shows (The car has traveled 1000 miles in 7 years).
The exterior has all original paint and is in EXCELLENT CONDITION !There is NO RUST on the body or underneath( NO BUBBLES).All rubber gaskets (door, window) are in excellent condition. The bumpers have perfect chrome and the rubber/plastic are not faded. There is a two inch cut in the black rubber (corner) on the drivers side front bumper its hard to see but its there and is the only flaw! The interior is in excellent condition. The leather is nice and soft with no tears, cracks or fading. The carpets, dash and door panels are equally as nice! All gauges, power windows, wipers.cruise control, lights,AC work as they should (even the clock works). The radio works perfectly but the power antenna does not go up and down. The glass is all perfect including the T-tops.I have the shade protector and the carry cases for the T-tops (both in great condition). The engine and 5 speed transmission work flawlessly and is a pleasure to drive.Last week I replaced the original thermostat (it was like new). I also had the original clutch replaced by the family that owned the original Datsun/Nissan dealership in the Northeastern PA.I had Automobile City replace the clutch disc and pressure plate and release bearing. All hydraulic fluid and transmission fluid are new.The engine oil/filter is new as well.Invoice for all work will be included. Anniversary Model Features: Numbered,Commemorative dash plaque Two-tone paint (gold/black or red/black) Gold hood emblem &gold stripe on black hood.Commemorative wreath decals on lower front fenders and rear hatch Goodyear Wingfoot tires Headlight washers Black out exterior trim package Tinted windshield/T-bar roof Automatic temperature control I have the original window sticker along with a thank you letter from Datsun sent to all Anniversary Model owners (both are in perfect condition and laminated). All books with the original color sales brochure and two sets of keys/Datsun key chains and custom car cover are also included. This is truly a rare find! Thanks for looking. 37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster
Tue, 11 Mar 2014When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
Datsun previews new budget sedan for Russia [w/video]
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Nobody does cars on the cheap quite like the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The former part of the equation already has its Dacia brand of cost-effective, no-frills vehicles that have become a favorite of Top Gear co-host James May, and last summer, the latter revived its Datsun nameplate for a budget brand of its own.
The reborn Datsun launched in India this past July with its Go hatchback, returned in September with the Go+ minivan and revealed the Redi-Go concept just last month. And now it's given us our first look at an upcoming budget sedan developed specifically for the Russian market.
The as-yet unnamed vehicle (which we'll bet will incorporate the word "go" into its nameplate somehow) is set to debut on April 4, where it will launch the Datsun brand in Russia. Few details are available at this point, but the low-cost sedan was designed in Japan to offer Russian drivers "an engaging driving experience, peace of mind ownership and accessibility at the right and transparent price, with a competitive Total Cost of Ownership."
