I have dreamed of owning and keeping a beautiful condition Z for years to relive my memories when I was in the Service and found this gem. Unfortunately for me, I have a financial need that requires I sell some assets, this being one. My Datsun is a daily driver, titled and insured and I`m the 4 th documented owner. I have had 4 new tires and valve job, tune-up, plugs, rotors and wire within the last month...purrs like a kitten but roars like a lion when you give it the gas. Body stripped and flare molded kit installed with Engine rebuild 6 years ago. Less than 700 miles on engine with receipts. Body has paint chip and a few scratches with 1 light paint run. Frame and under carriage look good with less than normal rust. Interior needs new driver seat covering, passenger near mint. Dash is cracked with dash pad cover in not acceptable condition. Radio and Clock installed but not working. Please call or text with any questions 810 887-8774....I can send as many pictures including a running video upon request. Sold as-is!!
On Jun-12-13 at 21:46:32 PDT, seller added the following information:
I had a friend list the car on Ebay for me.....I want to clarify that no rust shows on the upper body, rather the under body has some very small spots that are not a problem and very minimal at best.....I have an excellent camera so if you are interested just text me at 810-887-8774 and I can send you excellent photos as well as video. The person I bought it from had the motor rebuilt right about 6 years ago with a simple stock motor rebuild, stock cam and stock exhaust. I have the original ac system, good aluminum rims, radio as well as a box of emblems and other things from the car. The aftermarket radio powers up but I only drive the car to hear the motor music, not radio music. There is no carpet on the back deck and the front carpet is original so it has stains. I retired from the service as a Submarine mechanic and to me the car sounds and performs well without clunks, or grinds or noises. I bought a new battery last month as well. I bought the new tires since I don't trust my life to 6 year old tires when I am driving 100 or so (KPH of course ha) - I do have the 6 year old tires if you want them, I had been driving on themand the have about 80% tread. The original aluminum rims are nice and could be used on the car. The chrome was replaced on the windshield, rear glass, side glass and door areas 6 years ago as well as the rubber ( see photo) and looks new and excellent. The drivers door top weather seal does not look new and has some wear. Trying to list what I can think of so I don't get too may repetitive emails. There are some very small stress crack areas (see pictures) on some molded in body areas but If a person walks around the car they don't see them unless you point them out. The car drives smooth, without vibrations wobbles or wiggles.....steering wheel sits still and the car does not pull to one side or the other, brakes are excellent. The word rotors above should say rotor and cap. I tried to take pictures of the paint run but no matter how hard I try it is hard to see unless by the naked eye, I would expect you could see it if I video for you. The car is not perfect like any other car you can pick apart, but I have had 6 z's and this one I fell in love with the most, at 46 years old it has to meet a lot of criteria to satisfy me ! Late at night when the wife asks me to get milk or something trivial, I hop in the car drive to the grocery store, drive downtown then take the highway the other long way home, whereas in the past I would have just made an excuse and gone to bed. I keep the car in the garage and I do not drive it in the rain. Hope this covers what most of you wonder, and yes I am in Michigan and you could hop in right now and drive to Florida if you want. Pictures of open doors show about a one inch rub areas on the lower right door bottom and about a half inch on the left door....a father and son did the custom work and body strip and the were obviously detailed and good.

Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.
First new Datsun in decade sketched, set for Indian reveal
Mon, 01 Jul 2013Nissan's Datsun nameplate revival will begin with two models bound for the Indian market. Nissan has released sketches of a five-door hatchback based on the Micra (codenamed K2) and a top-down view of a hood that could potentially be from a sedan.
The company's press release says all will be revealed on July 15 in New Delhi, India. The Datsun lineup will be first offered in 2014 to that country's ride-deprived residents as well as Indonesia and Russia. Later in 2014, South Africa will join the list.
We've heard Nissan plans for Datsuns to share platforms with company-owned Lada. In January, we heard the projected price tag could be around $3,000 USD to compete with Chinese imports. The official press release (which can be read in full below) says nothing about either of these reports, however.
Renault planning a Tata Nano rival. Again.
Wed, 28 Nov 2012Four years ago, Renault confirmed that it would partner with India's Bajaj Auto to develop a rival to the Tata Nano. At the time, as everyone waited for the Tata Nano to arrive, you could have used a Richter scale to measure the tremors the executive suites of any automaker with an interest in the low end of emerging markets. Then the Nano, still the cheapest car in the world, didn't sell so well - at the end of last year its sales were just six percent of its most conservative projections - and everyone seemed content to let Tata spend the money to figure out if there really was a market for the cheapest car in the world.
Renault believes there is, kind of. Automotive News Europe reports that it will partner with Nissan to build two low-priced cars for emerging markets, one for €3,000 ($3,888 U.S.) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 U.S.). The price of the least expensive offering is nearly $1,400 more than a Nano, which costs $2,500, and that can't be considered a small sum in comparison. But one of the hindsight knocks on the Nano has been that even in emerging markets buyers don't want a car whose biggest lure is that it is cheap; they'd rather give their aspirations a bit more of a workout.
Renault's offerings are scheduled to hit the non-Western market in late 2014, which is coincidentally the same year that will see the return of the budget-minded and emerging-market-specific Datsun nameplate. They'll be built in Renault facilities in Chennai, India, with no mention made of Bajaj this time around.
