Clean title in my name, with title/pink slip in hand. I am the 3rd owner. As far as I know, the original owner was from Riverside, CA, which was later sold to a guy in Ventura, CA. Car is registered in CA until Dec 2014 Just smogged March 2014 with zero issues. Runs strong like a champ with no issues, very reliable, awesome as a daily driver. The previous owner daily drove it, but this is my weekend car. A lot of work and value has been put into the car to make it run strong and reliable, making it the perfect daily driver. I've driven this on a weekend trip to San Diego from LA (about 300 miles round trip) with no problems and no worries. - 2.8L engine rebuilt about 30,000 miles ago - Upgraded to 1982 280zx 5-speed tranny less than a year ago - New clutch, slave cylinder, and resurfaced flywheel - Fuel system rebuilt, new hoses, o-rings, and hose clamps - New catalytic converter and Magnaflow exhaust - New front and rear brakes (slotted rotors in front) - New water pump, alternator belt, spark plugs and wires, distributor, starter and battery - New interior pieces with original restored seats and trim - New head unit and speakers - New floormats -Good tread left on tires Have receipts and paperwork for parts. Body is in good condition, with MSA kit on it. Car was repainted many years ago, in decent condition but has small chips/cracks here and there. Has small surface rust on trunk lid but otherwise no body rust. Interior is very clean in great condition, no rips or tears in seats. Has new head unit with speakers in rear. All gauges work perfectly except for the clock (common in these Z's)... electrical system works perfectly (all lights, signals, brakes, hazards, etc). The car is located in Los Angeles, CA. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged. Serious buyers can call me at 818-714-0484 but no tire kickers please. Please make a reasonable offer! Thanks for looking! IMPORTANT: I have tried to describe this vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible but please remember it is a used vehicle. 37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster
Tue, 11 Mar 2014When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
Datsun to unveil second model later this month
Sun, 08 Sep 2013Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).
We'll have the full boatload of information on the newest member of the Datsun family when it debuts on September 17. Scroll on to read the full press release from Datsun.
Datsun officially reborn with Go model for India [w/video]
Mon, 15 Jul 2013In March of 2012, Nissan announced the return of its historic Datsun brand. Datsun used to represent the Nissan brand in a number of markets, but its badge hasn't been worn on a new model since 1981. In 2013, though, it has been relaunched as the Japanese manufacturer's budget offering in the emerging markets of India and Russia.
The model that will lead that charge, at least in India, is the Go, a car that pays tribute to the very first Datsun, the DAT-GO.
The operative term with the Datsun brand is: "budget offering." Don't step inside the Go and expect beautiful hides or brushed metals (it's being sold in India, after all). The instrument cluster features a simple speedometer, while the five-speed manual and the center stack above it are rather barren. It's not without luxuries, though, as iPod-style connectivity is available through a Mobile Docking Station.
