They still stop great, but at low speed/low pedal pressure they’ll squeal -Going to need new tires if you plan on serious tracking/canyon carving I've had this car for a couple of years, and while I love the car, right now I just don't drive it much anymore. For a more extensive writeup on the car, check my mechanic's blog here: http://www.zcarblog.com/2013/05/30/performance/heart-transplant-scotts-240z.html. This has been a California car for the last 20 years at minimum. The car runs and drives great, however, be aware that this is a RACE SETUP. This is not a car that you hop in and drive to the store. The carbs do NOT have chokes on them, and are NOT setup for when the engine is cold. If you're looking for a car that's easy to daily drive, then keep going, this is not the one that you are looking for. If you're looking for a car that you can auto-cross and take to track days, but don't need to trailer it in, then this might be the one for you. Mechanically the car is solid. The engine does not consume any oil or coolant, there are zero leaks of any kind under the car. If you have ANY questions about this car, either email me scottdwagner@gmail.com, or call me 408 410 3926 and leave a message. I will not ship this car, nor will I deal with a shipping company. I will only hand the keys and title over to the actual winner of this auction. If you want to ship it after that, go for it. Upon winning the auction, $2000 (non-refundable) will be due via paypal within 3 calender days (72 hours). The remaining payment for the car is due within 10 calender days (240 hours) of the end of auction in person in cash. If you need to make an alternate arrangement for paying the balance, THEN TELL ME. |

Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
Fiat contemplating sub-brand to compete with Dacia, Datsun
Tue, 05 Feb 2013You can add Fiat to the admittedly short list of automakers considering a low-cost brand to rival Dacia. The inexpensive Eastern European brand from Renault-Nissan has performed on the balance sheet like a premium model line, and the money the alliance is taking off the table is encouraging other players to deal themselves in. Pretty soon Nissan's Datsun sub-brand will join the Dacia party, going on sale in Russia, Indonesia and India and will claim even more rubles, rupiahs and rupees for the parent company. Volkswagen recently said it will make a decision this year on a budget line for the Chinese market. With the euthanasia of Lancia and plans to move the Fiat brand upmarket, company CEO Sergio Marchionne wonders aloud to Automotive News Europe whether there could be room for a new budget brand underneath Fiat.
We're told that the initiative has been in the idea box for five years and even moved to the stage of name considerations, like Innocenti, but worries about profit kept it from realization. If such a range were to be developed, Marchionne says it couldn't be built in Italy and stay within budget, and the company is "analyzing its manufacturing capacity outside of Europe to see if a low-cost brand is viable."
Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster
Tue, 28 Jan 2014A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
