YOU ARE BIDDING ON MY ONLY MODIFIED 240Z IN THE Z MECCA COLLECTION. I AM SAD TO SAY THIS CAR MUST GO AS I JUST ACQUIRED ANOTHER LOW VIN NUMBER 1969 PRODUCTION CAR AND I JUST DON'T HAVE THE ROOM TO KEEP THEM BOTH. THIS RUST FREE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CAR WAS BUILT IN THE LATE 80'S. IT ONLY HAD TWO OWNERS SINCE THE FERRARI CONVERTIBLE CONVERSION WAS COMPLETED. I ACQUIRED THE CAR IN 2001 FROM A MARINE STATIONED AT CAMP PENDLETON AND DECIDED TO BUILD A HIGHLY MODIFIED POWERHOUSE WITH ALL THE COOL BELLS AND WHISTLES. MOTOR HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT, BALANCED AND PORTED, FITTED WITH CUSTOM T3/4 TURBO, INTERCOOLER, CRANK SENSOR, ELECTROMOTIVE TECH 3 FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, 100 PSI BOSCH FUEL PUMP, CUSTOM BILLET FUEL RAIL, HIGH VOLUMN INJECTORS, MSD PLUG WIRES, CUSTOM PUCK CLUTCH DISC AND PRESSURE PLATE, AND 3 INCH CUSTOM ALL STAINLESS STEEL EXHAUST. IT'S PULLED BY A ZX 5 SPEED AND ZX R200 3.5 GEAR RATION REAR END. THIS MONSTER PRODUCES A CONSERVATIVE 300 HP AT THE WHEELS AT 12 PSI. A FEW OF MY CRAZY TURBO Z FRIENDS PUSHED ME TO BOOST TO 20 PSI TO SEE WHAT THIS BEAST WOULD DO BUT I AM AT THE AGE WHERE I AM NO LONGER INVINSIBLE AND HAVE NO DESIRE TO CRASH AND BURN. THIS CAR IS SCARY ENOUGH AND I WARN THE WINNER OF THIS AUCTION TO PLEASE BE CAREFUL. IT WILL KILL YOU IF YOU ARE NOT AN AVID DRIVER.
CAR COMES WITH A BLACK CANVASS TOP THAT SNAPS INTO PLACE. TOP IS IN LIKE NEW CONDITION AS ALL THE PREVIOUS OWNERS INCLUDING ME ONLY DROVE THE CAR DURING THE NICEST WEATHER. INTERIOR OF CAR COMES WITH NEW PIONEER AM/FM CD PLAYER AND NEW 6X9 SPEAKERS AND TWO TWEETERS. DASH WAS REPLACED BRAND NEW AND DYED TAN AT TIME OF CONVERSION AND IS STILL CRACK FREE.
CAR IS BEING OFFERED WITH NO RESERVE. $1000 DEPOSIT VIA PAY PAL DUE IN 48 HRS. BALANCE DUE 7 DAYS AT CLOSE OF AUCTION VIA CASH OR WIRE TRANSFER ONLY. BIDDERS ON EAST COAST CAN USE MY PRIVATE SHIPPER FOR TRANSPORTING CAR. CONTACT HUGH SHILLITO AT 1-828-461-0700 FOR A SHIPPING QUOTE.
QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL MY OFFICE AT 813-949-3398 OR EMAIL ME AT JIM240Z@AOL.COM.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other
Sat, 22 Feb 2014The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.

Malaise Era All-Stars
Fri, 17 May 2013A few weeks ago, we bid a fond happy 40th anniversary to the automotive dark ages of 1973-84 that have come to be known as "The Malaise Era" - the performance ice-age when 160 horsepower was a lot and a 0-60 time of under 10 seconds was remarkable. Like music in the 1980s, everything in automobiledom didn't suck, however. There were a few bright spots. Here are five of our favorites:
