1971 Datsun 240z Series (1) Original Orange Car/ 4 Speed Original #s Matching on 2040-cars
Levittown, Pennsylvania, United States
The car looks great from 10 ft, but it will have to painted again to be perfect. I paid alot of money for this paint job, and got a amateur job at best. There are runs that would have to be buffed, and some crackling in the paint and such if you were to try and save it. The good news is that you are viewing a very nice, RUST FREE series 1 1971 240z made in oct of 1970. The car runs great, just had a tune up, including new plugs/wires/points/condensor/distributor/oil changed. Everything gone over- nice tires with lots of tread. The interior is very clean. The only rust repair that was needed on this car were new floors installed. You could eat off the bottom of this car; that's how clean it is. The bottom of it is as clean as the top! The engine bay is very clean as well and motor has the original SU Hitachi carburetors which were just cleaned and tuned. New battery with warranty. The list goes on and on. No bumper on front of car because i have it in race car trim but i do have the bumper. The car is very clean. Runs great. You could fly in and drive home. I've owned this car for a while now and put a lot money, love, and time into it but have other projects that I need to now finish. The car is not perfect, as I mentioned with the paint, but it can be painted again. The main thing and most importantly-- it is a Rust Free car, and very well cared for. Just beware that if you do end up with this beauty in your in your garage. every where you go and at almost every light people are giving thumps up and making them smile. It never fails. I have 1969 Corvette with a 427 and is sweet, but I dont get half the looks and apprecation as the Z. All I can say is: you'll see! Dont miss out on this series 1 -fewer than 800 are still on the road today. The value of these cars is supposed to double in the next 3 to 5 years, a investment you can enjoy. Thanks and Happy bidding!!! |

Meet the man who took a year sabbatical to drive his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster
Tue, 28 Jan 2014A quiet drive in the country can be the most relaxing thing in the world. What if it didn't have to end, and you could keep driving for a week, a month or even a whole year? That's what Scott Fisher is doing by taking a one-year sabbatical from work and driving his 1967 Datsun Fairlady Roadster around North America.
"I had owned a manufacturing business in Las Vegas for 16 years. I knew I needed to kinda' get out, and unwind, and get my mojo back," said Fisher.
Fisher's trip has covered over 30,000 miles through 44 states and 7 Canadian Provinces, and it is not over yet. He left from his home in Las Vegas, NV, last spring and drove to the Pacific. From there, he drove up the coast to the Canadian border and aimed the car for the Atlantic. He just posted on his blog about visiting the Nissan headquarters and museum in Franklin, TN, and his next stops are Mississippi and New Orleans, LA.
Nissan IDx 'in the plan' for production, needs support from fans [w/poll]
Wed, 15 Jan 2014If there's a trend in the auto industry we can firmly get behind, it's the small, light and affordable rear-drive coupe. The positive critical reception to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ twins has encouraged other manufacturers to look at building their own rear drivers, and even a few to show actual concept cars based on the idea. The Chevrolet Code 130R from 2012 and more recently, the Nissan IDx twins that were first shown at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show both come to mind, as does the brand-new Kia GT4 Stinger Concept.
Nissan trotted out the IDx Nismo and the IDx Freeflow for another showing in Detroit and we'll admit to being totally smitten with both cars. Again. The duo draw inspiration from the iconic Datsun 510, a lightweight, affordable rear-driver that remains a cult favorite decades after production ended.
Now, a report from our friends at AutoWeek reveals that we may, possibly, hopefully see a production IDx, provided fans make a strong enough case for it. "It's in the plan," Nissan product boss Andy Palmer told AW. According to the report, Palmer said the IDx is "into the first sage of the development process. The next stage is project validation and then looking at the business case. It's no one's intent to waste millions of the company's money, so obviously we have a good feeling about this one."
Datsun's lackluster initial sales fall below Tata Nano
Wed, 15 Oct 2014When Tata introduced the Nano back in 2008, everyone was amazed at how cheap it was. They called it a game changer, but no game was changed. In fact, it took Tata five years to sell the 250,000 units it had the capacity to build in a single year. As it turns out, even buyers in what economists call "developing markets" like India aren't necessarily interested in buying an ultra-cheap automobile. And now it appears that Nissan may be falling into the same trap.
A little over a year ago, Nissan revived its old moniker Datsun to serve as a budget brand - similar to what ally Renault did with Dacia. Its lineup (consisting of models like the Go hatchback, Go+ minivan, On-Do sedan and Mi-Do hatch) is largely based on old architecture, packaged with little more than basic equipment and sold at rock-bottom prices. But Bloomberg reports that, even in the brand's core markets like India and Indonesia, the new Datsuns haven't been selling.
According to local industry figures, Datsun has sold fewer than 10,000 units of its $5,100 Go hatchbacks in India since its introduction back in March. Maruti Suzuki, by comparison, sells twice that many of its similarly priced Alto hatchbacks every month. In fact, after peaking in April, Datsun only sold 607 units in India this past July, dipping 77 percent to drop below even the number of Nanos which Tata sold that month.
