2006 Chrysler Sebring - V6 - Super Comfortable Commuter car
I have to say that it actually pains me a bit to get rid of this car. I really enjoy driving it, but I received a company vehicle with my new job, and I simply have no need for 3 vehicles in a house with 2 drivers. I am six foot tall and decently wide, and this car was the most comfortable I ever got a chance to drive. I will be sorry to see her go. I bought this car last year at the beginning of September, specifically for me to drive back and forth to work each day. For that purpose it was an absolute pleasure. I took the time to fix up every little thing that I could find wrong with it, since I was expecting to drive it into the ground. Instead I got a new job, which came with a new car, so my loss can be your gain here. Since I got the car, have done the following repair work on it. - 4 brand new tires - New Oil pump - New Battery - Completely New Front Brakes (both pads and rotors) - New Tire rod on the front passenger side Overall Vehicle is in good condition. No major cosmetic defects visible on exterior or interior. Only known issues on the vehicle are a burnout headlight (which I actually have, my hands just don't fit), the fan belt is squeeking, and the horn relay is not working. I am aware of nothing else being wrong with the vehicle. I would certainly drive it myself, or offer it to a family member if anyone was interested in it. Its a great driver. Good sight lines, clean and comfortable. If you run a Carfax report on the VIN or look at the little score on the auction, you will see it says the car was in an accident. As near as I can tell from looking at the Carfax and knowing the area, the car was in a collision with a deer at some point. This all happened before I owned it, as I bought the car used from a dealership in Kentucky. They checked it out and over and sold it to me. I have had no problems with it above what I listed above. I see this car lasting a good while longer. I hope it finds a good home. |

Jeep sets all-time sales record in 2012
Wed, 09 Jan 2013Last year was good to Jeep. Chrysler has announced its trail-rated brand set an all-time global sales record in 2012 by moving 701,626 units. That number easily surpasses the previous record set in 1999 when Jeep sold 675,494 models. All told, the brand saw a 19-percent sales increase worldwide over 2011, and much of that swell can be traced directly to the Wrangler. While the Grand Cherokee led Jeep sales, the Wrangler posted record numbers both globally and within the US, moving 194,142 and 141,669 units in each market, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Compass beat its previous global sales record with 103,321 units rolling off of dealer lots. In the US, Jeep sold 62,010 Patriot units, breaking that model's previous record as well. Jeep's impressive performance in 2012 marks the second year in a row the brand has seen double-digit percentage sales increases. Check out the full press release below.
2.1 million vehicles recalled again over faulty airbags
Sat, Jan 31 2015Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Honda and Toyota will recall 2.1 million vehicles to fix faulty airbag modules "after the manufacturers' original attempts to fix the defects proved ineffective in some vehicles." These vehicles had all previously been recalled, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that the airbags could still potentially malfunction. This recall will cover Acura MDX, Dodge Viper, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Honda Odyssey, Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix and Toyota Avalon models made in the early 2000s. NHTSA has reportedly received about 40 reports of airbag deployment in such vehicles, even though the vehicle had not been involved in a crash. Roughly one million of these same vehicles, all from Honda and Toyota, are also subject to recalls due to faulty Takata airbag modules, though this particular recall is for "an electronic component manufactured by TRW" that is separate from the actual airbags from Takata. According to NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind: "This is unfortunately a complicated issue for consumers, who may have to return to their dealer more than once. But this is an urgent safety issue, and all consumers with vehicles covered by the previous recalls should have that remedy installed. Even though it's a temporary solution until the new remedy is available, they and their families will be safer if they take the time to learn if their vehicle is covered and follow their manufacturers' instructions. A hassle is much better than a family tragedy." If you're the owner of an affected car, expect to hear more from the official automaker and government channels in short order. In the meantime, we'd suggest getting your car checked and fixed at your local dealer. The official statement and recall information can be found below. Previously Recalled Vehicle Remedies Not Working as Designed; NHTSA Announces Follow up Recall of 2.12 Million Cars and SUVs Saturday, January 31, 2015 Contact: Gordon Trowbridge, 202-366-9550, Public.Affairs@dot.gov WASHINGTON – U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx announced today the recall of more than 2.12 million Acura, Dodge, Jeep, Honda, Pontiac, and Toyota vehicles for a defect that may cause airbags to deploy inadvertently. The recalls will provide vehicle owners with a new remedy after the manufacturers' original attempts to fix the defects proved ineffective in some vehicles.
Next Chrysler minivan to get optional AWD, nine-speed auto

"The minivan package has always been a sacred thing ... it's basically a life tool" - Ralph Gilles
The stalwart duo of Chrysler minivans will be reduced by half in the vehicle's next generation, with the Dodge Grand Caravan likely going away in favor of a new people-mover-type vehicle. And while the reworked Chrysler Town & Country shouldn't radically shake up the usual minivan formula, a new report from Automotive News suggests that some new technologies and thoughtful updates are in the cards for our Canadian-built van.
