2007 CHRYSLER PT CRUISER TOURING WAGON! GREAT SHAPE! ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE!!

I have up for bids a great little gas saver! This PT Cruiser is the touring edition and loaded with all the features you want. It comes with power windows, locks, a/c, tilt, cruise, CD Satellite radio, power mirrors, alloy wheels, and a gas sipping 4 cyl motor. This is a good looking, running, and driving car. It is an 07, so you have the more modern conveniences, and better ride/handling. I will go over the details of the vehicle below, but please don't hesitate to ask if I miss anything you want to know about.

Lets start with the exterior. This car is in great condition. The paint shines nicely, and it has nothing more than normal wear and tear for a car of this age and miles. The glass is all in excellent shape, the wheels are nice, and the tires have about 20% wear left on the back and 40% on the front. I would probably drive them through the summer and replace in the fall before winter, but more then adequate to drive it back home anywhere you live. I have included a couple pictures that show areas that may be of concern. There are a couple door dings on the drivers door, and a couple under the logo on the back hatch. Very minor door ding type stuff, but wanted you to know about them. Also on the passenger side, rear fender lip, you can see there is a small area of bubbling, nothing through the paint. Other than that, good to go.

On the inside, I would say it's in good shape with average wear. The dash and door panels are all in dreat shape, all of the buttons work, and the floors and seats are clean. THe only things I would bring to your attention are the bolster on the drivers seat, you can see it is missing a plastic trim piece. The seats in general are all in good shape without tears or damage, but they do have some water spots/stains that the fabric they use in these newer cars seems to get. I had this car cleaned, but it wasn't a professional detail, so I'm not sure wether those spots will come out with steam or not, but that would just be for looks, the seats are actually clean, just this spotting/discoloration, whatever you want to call it. The back cargo area has a large area of carpet damage. It looks as if it was worn off or something may have been spilled that ate away the carpet. I took a pic. Since it is in the cargo area, and thats mainly used to haul stuff anyway, I would think it is a pretty minor flaw. Could easily be covered up with a cargo mat or piece of carpet. Other than that, nice car.

The mechanical is excellent. Engine runs great with no abnormalities, no wierd noises, doesn't smoke, use oil, or anything like that. Runs like a top. The transmission shifts perfect, nothing abnormal there. This car goes down the road just like it should. The only thing is the tires, as I said, they aren't great, and you do get a little vibration between 60-70. It is minor, doesn't shake you out of the car or anything, but it is there. Steers tight, had the front end checked, told it was just the tires.

So thats it. Again, if I missed anything, ask away. I really think this will make someone a nice car. Jump in it and drive it wherever you want to go, no projects here! I have a clean title in hand. I will sell this with a title and bill of sale. 500.00 deposit is due within 48 hours through paypal, and full payment is due within 7 days. If you want to ship it, that is up to you, but I will help with loading or anything reasonable to help that along.

Again, this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. Last bidder will own it and I'm sure someone will get an amazing deal on a car that will practically pay for it's self after a couple years of saving gas. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

New UAW boss Williams talks tough, vows 'no more concessions'

Sun, 08 Jun 2014

Dennis Williams, the newly elected president of the UAW, had some tough words for American automakers in his inauguration speech at the 2014 UAW Convention, striking down the possibility of any additional concessions from the 400,000-strong union.
"No more concessions. We are tired of it. Enough is enough," Williams said during his speech. UAW employees have not received a raise in nearly 10 years, according to Reuters.
Considering the recent strong results for Ford, Chrysler and General Motors, the union's demands are likely to carry a bit more weight in next year's negotiations. And considering Williams' tough stance, we could be in for some fireworks once negotiations commence.

Rising aluminum costs cut into Ford's profit

Wed, Jan 24 2018

When Ford reports fourth-quarter results on Wednesday afternoon, it is expected to fret that rising metals costs have cut into profits, even as rivals say they have the problem under control. Aluminum prices have risen 20 percent in the last year and nearly 11 percent since Dec. 11. Steel prices have risen just over 9 percent in the last year. Ford uses more aluminum in its vehicles than its rivals. Aluminum is lighter but far more expensive than steel, closing at $2,229 per tonne on Tuesday. U.S. steel futures closed at $677 per ton (0.91 metric tonnes). Republican U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is weighing whether to impose tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, which could push prices even higher. Ford gave a disappointing earnings estimate for 2017 and 2018 last week, saying the higher costs for steel, aluminum and other metals, as well as currency volatility, could cost the company $1.6 billion in 2018. Ford shares took a dive after the announcement. Ford Chief Financial Officer Bob Shanks told analysts at a conference in Detroit last week that while the company benefited from low commodity prices in 2016, rising steel prices were now the main cause of higher costs, followed by aluminum. Shanks said the automaker at times relies on foreign currencies as a "natural hedge" for some commodities but those are now going in the opposite direction, so they are not working. A Ford spokesman added that the automaker also uses a mix of contracts, hedges and indexed buying. Industry analysts point to the spike in aluminum versus steel prices as a plausible reason for Ford's problems, especially since it uses far more of the expensive metal than other major automakers. "When you look at Ford in the context of the other automakers, aluminum drives a lot of their volume and I think that is the cause" of their rising costs, said Jeff Schuster, senior vice president of forecasting at auto consultancy LMC Automotive. Other major automakers say rising commodity costs are not much of a problem. At last week's Detroit auto show, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV's Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne reiterated its earnings guidance for 2018 and held forth on a number of topics, but did not mention metals prices. General Motors Co gave a well-received profit outlook last week and did not mention the subject. "We view changes in raw material costs as something that is manageable," a GM spokesman said in an email.
