1948 Chrysler New Yorker In Great Original Condition on 2040-cars
Peoria, Illinois, United States
Up for sale is a super solid 1948 Chrysler New Yorker with no reserve. Don't let the paint job on this one fool you there is a beautiful car under there! This car is in amazingly solid shape for its age. The frame and all the sheet metal is in really solid condition. The floors, doors, fenders, and door jambs are in really great original condition. For a restoration project this car is ahead of the game with a lot of work already done. This car only needs light mechanical work, interior and paint and chrome. I have receipts totaling around $3000.00 with the car. The motor was professionally rebuilt. Some new brake lines, brake shoes, and all new wheel cylinders have been professionally installed. The rims were sand blasted and primed. New high quality period tires were fitted and are in great like new condition still. The car was on the road running and driving a couple years ago. The brake work has been done but there is no fluid in them now, they need to be bled and checked but should be no major work. The car does run and drive but is a little stubborn to start. I think it needs a carburetor tune up or rebuild. There is a slight hesitation in throttle but only due to the carb. The motor runs great and transmission works. It might need slight adjusting and lubricating on transmission linkage. Car comes with new battery and new coil installed. No warranty is expressed or implied with the sale of this 1948 Chrysler New Yorker Car is sold as is with a clean title and bill of sale.

Chrysler recalling 278,222 trucks and SUVs over bad rear axles
Thu, 14 Feb 2013Chrysler has issued a recall of 278,222 light trucks and sport utility vehicles here in the United States. The reason: bad rear axles. Specifically, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear axle pinion nut may lack a necessary adhesive patch, which could cause the nut to loosen. If this happens, the axle can lock up, which could cause all sorts of havoc on the road.
This is an expansion of the rear axle recall announced in October of last year, where 44,300 Ram 1500 and Dodge Dakota models were being called in. At that time, 12 accidents had been reported due to the faulty axle pinion nut.
Affected vehicles include Ram 1500 trucks from the 2009 to 2012 model years, Dodge Dakota models from the 2009 to 2011 model years, and both the Chrysler Aspen and Dodge Durango SUV twins, both from the 2009 model year only.
Chrysler 100 hatchback caught cruising around Santa Monica
Thu, 21 Feb 2013A coming hatchback said to be called the Chrysler 100 has been caught on video traipsing around Santa Monica by Autoblog reader Zach Dillman. Still wearing the scrapyard assemblage of Alfa Romeo Giulietta body panels as it was when spy photographers began capturing it last summer, its arrival date is still a question mark: some outlets have reported that it will go on sale this year, others have said it won't be in showrooms until 2016.
In fact, quite a few questions remain. Based on Fiat's Compact US Wide (CUSW) platform that supports the Dodge Dart and expected to be about the same size, the 100 is thought to be a small premium hatchback that will be priced above the Dart and below the Chrysler 200, with the idea that it can challenge the Ford Focus and Hyunda Elantra at the value end and the Buick Verano and Acura ILX at the premium end. Word is that there will be no sedan version.
It looks like there'll be plenty of gewgaws inside, with buttons for Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning and a button to toggle the traction control.
We aren't the only ones who want a Chrysler Pacifica Hellcat
Wed, Jan 27 2016Yes, you read that correctly: Chrysler. Pacifica. Hellcat. We want one. It's definitely not happening. But that doesn't mean we – and the FCA designers – can't dream, right? That's what led to this sketch, posted on Instagram by Fiat-Chrysler design boss Ralph Gilles. It looks pretty sweet, including that hella important wing for maximum downforce, yo. As long as we're dreaming, we've got a few other requests. Let's put that 707-horsepower, 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 in the middle of the van. Screw the Stow 'N Go seats – let's get that engine mounted as low in the car's midsection as possible. And while we're at it, let's go for rear-wheel drive. And a six-speed manual transmission. And a third row of seats behind the engine, but rear-facing, so we can make our friends puke. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. To refresh your memory, it's a totally new van, and will even be offered in Hybrid spec with an 80-mile-per-gallon-equivalent rating. Sounds impressive. Oh, heck. Hellcats > Hybrids. Ralph, we urge you to make this one a reality. Related Video:
