1948 Chrysler New Yorker Coupe This car was parked on a West Texas ranch in 1964 and has been there ever since. It is very complete car, the only thing I know of that is missing is the radio antenna and outside mirror. all the glass is in it. The door windows are cracked. Windows roll up and down. The sun took a toll on the interior. It was all still intact but very fragile. seat covers are mostly gone, the padding is there and the seat springs are still good. I took the driver side door panel off while installing patch panels in the door corners. Passenger door was OK. Fenders have typical patches in the corners. patches were put in the floor board and trunk area. The car was never wrecked, had minor dings and one dent in the trunk about the size of a dinner plate. All the wheels rolled smooth, has the original wheels, hub caps, and beauty rings. Engine is the Spitfire flat head 8 cyl. and has a fluid drive Trans. They may or may not be good. There is one piece of chrome on the rear fender that is partly smashed. there are several wrecking yards that have it in the $40 range. The pot metal trim has pitting, would be fine for a hot rod. Personally I would just paint it with the new chrome paint. The front cross member is rusted and should be replaced. .The rest of the frame is fine,. It has a big boxed frame and would be fine for a street rod. Personally I would put a new front suspension such as Fat Man ect. The original front suspension was not very good when it was new. The car has been blasted and epoxy primed in a medium dark gray. It would be fine the way it is for a rat rod or hot rod. it would take an experience body man a day to slick it up for a bright paint job. This would probably be best suited for a very rare street rod or rat rod, I have seen only one other in 3 years. There is enough room up front for a hemi or two. The white walls do not go with the car. It has a set of good roller tires. All the bumpers and valance are with the car, I personally like it better with them off.. The car can be delivered to the port in Houston, Tx. for a price for foreign buyers. Car is being sold with a Bill of Sale. I have a lady that does titles for $350. The car does not have to be moved right away but I expect a $500 deposit in three days. It will have to be towed and I will assist any way I can. I am sure I forgot something. you can call 830-370-6370 for more info. Thanks for looking.

Dodge Grand Caravan to live in fleets through 2017
Mon, Jun 22 2015After a hard-working career of hauling around families for decades, the Dodge Grand Caravan name was set to retire in 2016 under FCA's five-year plan for the US. The decision would have put all of the automaker's focus behind the next-generation Chrysler Town & Country, but that original strategy might have changed. Now, Dodge's minivan may have to work just a few more years before it can finally shuffle off. There are set to be 2016 and 2017 model year examples of the current Grand Caravan, according to an internal FCA production document obtained by Automotive News. This report suggests no changes in the minivan between those two years, and there's no mention of the company's intentions deeper into the future. "While we've announced the Grand Caravan will eventually be the minivan that goes away, we're not going into more detail at this time," a Dodge spokesperson said to AN. For the next Town & Country, production would start in Windsor, Ontario, in late February 2016. This document also suggests a brief run of 2016 Chrysler minivans based on the current model from August 2015 until February 2016. Automotive News speculates that the reprieve for the Grand Caravan could allow that model to focus on fleets and the Canadian market while the new Town and Country gets up and running. The latest generation T&C will reportedly debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show and will possibly carry a higher price to befit a vehicle with a more modern platform and improved tech.
Four-horse race opens up for next Chrysler-Fiat CEO
Mon, 16 Dec 2013
There are some companies that could change leadership overnight and still remain more or less the operations that they are. But some have built themselves up around one central figure. Just ask Carlos Tavares, who found he couldn't escape the long shadow of Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn. Tavares recently left to find his own limelight. But Ghosn isn't the only executive who presides over two disparate automakers on opposite ends of the globe.
Having built up Fiat and Chrysler around himself, we can hardly imagine either automaker getting along without Sergio Marchionne. But the day will come when the famously sweater-clad bigwig will step down. The pressing questions remain when when that day will come, and who will take his place. The only solid clues we have are in the statements made mostly by Marchionne himself, but those statements have been all over the place. When speaking to Automotive News in 2012, he said he would step down "no earlier than 2013, no later than 2015." But a year later, he had already seemingly changed his tune, indicating he could still be at the helm in 2016. Fiat chairman John Elkann seems to think Marchionne, 61, could and should stay on longer.
Six arrested from chop shop linked to Dream Cruise thefts
Sun, Sep 20 2015The spirit of this year's Woodward Dream Cruise was dampened after a rash of car thefts were reported. The vehicles included a 1966 Chrysler 300 Deluxe, a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette, and a replica of the 1971 Chevrolet Camaro owned by the founder of Papa John's Pizza. While these thefts outraged the collector car community, that same tight-knit group is now breathing a sigh of relief, as those responsible are behind bars. Detroit Police arrested six people – three adults and three teens – on Thursday, September 17, in connection with a chop shop operation linked to the collector car thefts. According to The Detroit News, one suspect is still at large. There's concern among Dearborn police that the same group responsible for the Dream Cruise thefts boosted some vehicles from a Ford factory. While the Camaro was recovered mostly whole and found in a giant bush on Detroit's west side, the fate of the Corvette or Chrysler has not been made known. Here's hoping these classic cars make it back into their rightful owner's garages soon. News Source: The Detroit NewsImage Credit: Jerry S. Mendoza / AP Government/Legal Chrysler Classics
