Fremont, Ohio, United States
1984 Chrysler Lebaron Town & Country Convertible
For sale by owner is a classic and very rare 1984 Chrysler Lebaron Town & Country Mark Cross Edition Convertible.
This car has ONLY 43,220 original miles on its 2.6 L Mitsubishi 3 speed automatic drive train. The car looks great and is a real head turner. There were only 1,105 of these produced in 1984 and it is said that very few are still left today.
The car has been garage kept. I am a non-smoker and the car appears to have never been smoked in before. There is NO rust on the body and the undercarriage is very clean.
I am the third known owner and purchased the car from a gentleman who bought it in Florida for his enjoyment.
Recently many new parts have been added including:
-New Bridgestone Whitewall Radial Tires -New Exhaust -New Thermostat -Tune-up (New Spark Plugs, Rotor, etc.) -New Rear Trunk Shocks -New Motor Mounts -New Paint (Factory White) -New Rear Plexiglas Window -New Rear Shocks -New Headlights -New Windshield Wiper Blades -New Front Wheel Bearings/Hubs -New Lower Ball Joints -New Driver’s Side Power Window Motor -New Air Filter -New Upper Radiator Hose -Newer Brakes
Exterior -New factory white paint -Original woodie side panels (with some fading and discoloration) -Original chrome (in good condition for the age) -Very nice wire wheel covers -Original white convertible top with no visible exterior rips or tears (in decent/fair condition for the age, the interior cloth backing shows wear) -NO dents or scratches (body is exceptionally straight) -NO cracked glass (all quite nice)
Interior -Mark Cross two tone leather interior -Driver’s side seat shows some wear -Interior slightly faded due to top down driving -Rear seat looks great with little fading -NO rips or tears on any seats -NO cracks on the dashboard -Nice door panels -Very clean carpet -Interior chrome has pit marks from top down driving -Newer Mopar Radio Mechanical -Many new parts as listed -Runs, shifts, and drives excellent -No shakes or shimmies -All gauges work -Original unused full sized spare tire
A/C and cruise control are inoperable and the radio balance knob can be fussy at times causing sound to come out of only the passenger’s side speakers. Everything else works great!
The car features power door locks, power windows, power convertible top, power steering, power brakes, power driver’s seat, and a digital dashboard.
Included are the original boot, owner's manual with papers, keys, and receipts for recent repairs.
Overall this car is a very nice solid ride that looks great! This car is NOT perfect but is a good 6 out of 10 cruiser. It does show signs of sitting in the hot Florida sun but for being 30 years old it presents itself well. Clean Carfax (NO ACCIDENTS!)
If you have any questions, would like more pictures, or would like to set up a time to view the car please email me.
*Listing may be ended early if sold locally*
PICK UP ONLY!! ~ SORRY, I WILL NOT SHIP THE CAR.

Chrysler minivans under investigation for stalling after fuel refill
Wed, 10 Sep 2014According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, at least one man has reported that his 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan stalled unexpectedly on the highway shortly after being refueled. The unidentified man who contacted NHTSA regarding the issue cited as many as eight similar instances reported by other drivers.
NHTSA has announced that it will launch an inquiry into this issue, which could affect as many as 160,000 minivans from Dodge and Chrysler that were sold in 2007 (or more, if a problem is found that extends to additional models years, we'd assume). As of yet, there's no formal investigation, let alone a recall, on these vans, as the agency is merely determining if further action is needed.
Two months ago, Chrysler recalled nearly 700,000 vehicles, the majority of which were minivans, from the 2008-2010 model years to replace ignition switches after an investigation found that their weak springs and detent positions could fool a driver into thinking the car was in the "Run" position, when it's actually in the "Accessory" position.
Marchionne recruiting activist investors to prompt GM merger
Tue, Jun 9 2015Sergio Marchionne may have been rebuffed in his previous advances at General Motors, but he's not about to give up that easily. According to The Wall Street Journal, the Fiat Chrysler chief is now turning to activist investors to help coax GM into joining forces. Marchionne has been a staunch and ceaseless advocate of the need for consolidation, arguing that the industry needs to amalgamate into larger groups that will share resources and reduce overhead. Under his leadership, the Fiat group consolidated its own operations, and officially merged with Chrysler last year. But he's also been pursuing additional mergers with the likes of Volkswagen, Peugeot, Ford, and Opel (to name just a few). Now he's pursuing a merger with GM, which has not shown much enthusiasm towards the idea. For one thing, GM is a much larger company, and probably doesn't need FCA as much as FCA needs it. For another, it has a troubled past with Marchionne, who in 2005 dissolved an agreed merger (of sorts) with GM, yet still managed to get the General to pay Fiat some $2 billion in the process. However, Marchionne is evidently hoping that the intervention of activist investors could compel GM CEO Mary Barra and company to proceed with a merger anyway. For precedent, he's looking at the recent negotiation between GM and some of its stakeholders that prompted the company to buy back $5 billion of its own shares, demonstrating Barra's willingness to deal with investors. The more compelling precedent, however, may have been set in 2006, when activist investor Kirk Kerkorian locked arms with Carlos Ghosn to get GM to consider joining the alliance between Renault and Nissan. GM ultimately declined, and Ghosn turned instead of Daimler (which of course has its own history of having merged with Chrysler). Only time will tell if this initiative will prove more successful, but one thing's for sure, and that's that Marchionne isn't about to relent in his pursuit of a major merger partner.
Fiat Chrysler open to mergers, and PSA is looking for one
Fri, Mar 8 2019GENEVA — Fiat Chrysler (FCA) is open to pursuing alliances and merger opportunities if they make sense, but a sale of its luxury brand Maserati is not an option, Chief Executive Mike Manley said on Tuesday. "We have a strong independent future, but if there is a partnership, a relationship or a merger which strengthens that future, I will look at that," Manley told reporters at the Geneva Motor Show. Asked whether he would consider selling Maserati to China's Geely Automobile Holdings, as suggested by recent media reports, Manley said: "Maserati is one of our really beautiful brands and it has an incredibly bright future. ... No." FCA is often cited as a possible merger candidate. Bloomberg said this week that the Italian-American carmaker was attractive to France's PSA Group given its exposure to the U.S. market and its popular Jeep brand. The Detroit News' headline on the situation Friday read, "Fiat Chrysler CEO open to a deal as PSA circles" and stated that Manley's open-to-just-about-anything comments were aimed directly at PSA. Bloomberg said talks between the two were preliminary and said PSA chief Carlos Tavares has also contemplated mergers with General Motors or Jaguar Land Rover, which is losing money for Indian owner Tata. PSA has enjoyed a decade of turnaround and has $10.2 billion in net cash available. The maker of Peugeot, Citroen and DS, acquired Opel and Vauxhall in 2017 and made them almost instantly profitable. Manley, who took over after the death of Sergio Marchionne, said he currently had no news on possible deals. Manley also said the world's seventh-largest carmaker, which is lagging rivals in developing hybrid and electric vehicles, would take the least costly approach to comply with increasingly more stringent European emissions regulations. "There are three options. You can sell enough electrified vehicles to balance your fleet. Two: You can be part of a pooling scheme. Three is to pay the fines," he said. "I don't see a scenario when (carmakers) continue to subsidize technologies ... indefinitely." The carmaker had said last June it would invest 9 billion euros ($10.19 billion) over the next five years to introduce hybrid and electric cars across all regions to be fully compliant with emissions regulations. Asked about a 5-billion-euro investment plan for Italy FCA announced in November but then put under review, Manley said the plan had been confirmed as originally presented.
