2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 Roadster Convertible
VIN: 1C3AN75N95X047176
81,000 miles

I’m absolutely in love with this car. I have a newborn, however, and he takes priority! That said, it’s not a newborn friendly car and has been replaced. Bitter-sweet for me, awesome for you!

It’s a Mercedes AMG under the Chrysler skin, and it’s amazingly fun to drive. Details to follow.

Crossfire History:
The vehicle was only made for a handful of years, and most estimates have total production at 75,000 – 80,000 vehicles. Of those, 2016 of them were SRT-6 models. Of those, 928 were roadsters (convertible). This vehicle is one of 928 ever made…and who knows how many are still out there on the road.

The SRT-6 model has some benefits over the normal Crossfire:
3.2L V6 – SUPERCHARGED engine
18-valve, Single overhead cam, Aluminum V6
330 HP, 310 ft-lb torque (Mercedes AMG Engine)
5-Speed Automatic w/manual shift capability (same as the SLK32 AMG)
40% firmer shocks and springs for much better handling
Larger vented brakes
Electronic stability control (that can be disabled with a button)
Fixed rear wing in the back
More aggressive chin spoiler in the front
P225/40ZR-18 front, P255/35ZR-19 rear tires
0-60 in 5.2 seconds
158 mph top speed (software capped)

Aftermarket:
Chrome Wheels (18? front, 19? rear)

Other standard features:
Rear Wheel Drive
Black Exterior
Black Interior
Leather + Suede Seats
CD Player
Anti-Lock Brakes
Driver + Passenger, Front + Side Airbags
Dual-zone climate control
Premium 240 watt Sound w/ 6 Infinity speakers and subwoofer behind the seats
Cruise Control
Power Locks
Power Windows
Power Seats
Power Convertible Top

New, this was a $50k car. Reserve is $10,500!

Known issues:
Normal wear and tear for this vehicle.
Cracked windshield, low to the frame and almost invisible…I don’t even see it any more (see pic)
Small dent in right front quarter near headlight (pic)
Silver coating on passenger inside door grip flaking a bit (not visible).

Next Chrysler minivan spied inside and out

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Chrysler isn't supposed to unveil the next-generation Town & Country until the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, but FCA is hard at work getting the minivan ready for launch. Our spies recently caught prototypes on the road and took copious photos of the interior and exterior, giving us an early idea what to expect from the future family-hauler. These shots make it pretty clear that FCA's engineers aren't done working on the next T&C yet, and all of the camouflage on the outside makes any styling changes very difficult to spot. However, the company is testing the future version with a current one, and the new design appears to have harder angles. One intriguing picture clearly shows the Dodge logo on the back of the minivan. The Dodge Grand Caravan is supposed to be killed off for 2016, though. We've also heard the next-generation minivan will get a plug-in hybrid variant, which was reportedly confirmed last week. The interior is slightly less concealed than the outside, but development is still ongoing in there, too. It's easy to spot the familiar infotainment screen from other FCA products, and there's just a peek at the T&C's instrument cluster, including the design for the tachometer. A rotary dial gearshift also appears to be in the center console, similar to the Chrysler 200. Even at this early stage, it appears that FCA is trying to take the next T&C a little more upmarket compared to the current iteration. The move fits well with earlier rumors of the price increasing for the future model. Related Video:

Ferrari IPO could come any day now

Sun, Jul 12 2015

According to Bloomberg, Fiat Chrysler Automotive Sergio Marchionne told reporters at the Toronto Global Forum that the Ferrari IPO could come any day now. "We are days away from filing the prospectus," said Marchionne, who declined to confirm whether rumors of involvement from UBS Group AG, JPMorgan Chase & Co and Goldman Sachs Group were accurate. In addition to an expected filing in New York, Marchionne hinted that a secondary filing could take place in Milan, Italy. Although the FCA Chief Executive didn't offer any expected sum for Ferrari, he had previously suggested that an IPO for the iconic Italian brand could be worth $1 billion, ringing the registers to the tune of 10 percent of the company's $11 billion valuation. According to Bloomberg, that potential sum is significantly higher than its own internal figures indicate after taking a poll of analysts who we assume must know a heck of a lot more about such things than we do. Considering how close we apparently are to the actual filing, though, we probably won't have to wait long to find out. Another hot topic any time Sergio is the subject of reporter questioning is a potential merger with General Motors or another large, full-line automaker. It seems there aren't any new revelations to reveal on the consolidation front, though Marchionne told reporters there were no plans to mount a hostile takeover of GM or any "other, less optimal" partners. Fiat-Chrysler CEO: Please Don't Buy The Fiat 500e

Wed, May 21 2014

Fiat-Chrysler's CEO had a strange request for electric vehicle shoppers on Wednesday: don't buy the all-electric Fiat 500e. While CEO Sergio Marchionne was speaking at a conference in Washington, he told the crowd he's tired of Chrysler-Fiat losing money, The Detroit News reported. "I hope you don't buy it [the 500e] because every time I sell one it costs me $14,000," he said to the audience at the Brookings Institution. "I'm honest enough to tell you that." Marchionne said federal and state fuel efficiency mandates are forcing the automaker to build unprofitable cars, according to Reuters. A normal Fiat 500 starts at $16,195, and the 500e starts at $32,650, before federal and state tax credits. There are no sales data to indicate how the 500e is performing.
