Rust Free Ca Cordoba In Nh! on 2040-cars
Newport, New Hampshire, United States
Rust free 1979 Chrysler Cordoba. Recently Shipped out from California. 360-2v V-8 with NO Lean Burn! Over $2300 worth of recent work including:
- New oil and filter with Mobil 1 - Complete Transmission service, bands adjusted and new filter - New Tires - New Brakes and Wheel Cylinders - New Ball joints and Tie rod ends - Just Aligned - Carburetor completely rebuilt - New Cap, rotor, plugs and wires - Wiper Linkage Completely rebuilt Car runs and drives very well. The motor has approx. 30k on a rebuild..my mechanic thinks it has a cam in it as it idles a bit lumpy and has better power than most 360s. Radiator was replaced at the same time. Car has Incredible oil pressure...runs at the top of the gauge...even hot..on the road. Uses absolutely no oil. The car does not leak, burn or use any fluids. The motor does not smoke, knock or tick and the transmission (torqueflite 904) shifts as it should. The car always starts easily- hot or cold. Needs a vacuum advance installed on the distributor (I have the part, but runs well enough that I haven't bothered to put it in yet) and a rear tranny mount replaced, it's a little loose- will cure the slight driveline vibration that it has. A/C is currently inop but the compressor has a rebuild tag on it...haven't looked into it and the cruise linkage is unhooked from the carb...haven't looked into that either. The front seat was reupholstered at some point in a different cloth and is a little faded. Dash is good with no cracks. Even the digital clock works and keeps good time! Although the car is very rust free and the chrome is in very good condition, the paint is definitely a 10 footer with fading on the top surfaces and some peeling around the edges and around the sunroof. The car was originally 2-tone Spinnaker White and Nightwatch Blue but was painted in the past what appears to be B-5 blue. Has (5) of the rare(r) cast turbine wheel covers. There is also some scaly rust in the trunk where it has leaked in the past. Being a CA car, the door window seals and trunk gasket are a bit dry and crumbly. My mechanic loves working on this car as the underneath is so clean...there isn't even surface rust under there. I have personally driven this car on several 200-600 mile trips with no issues whatsoever. The car averages about 12-15 MPG around town and 18 MPG or so on the highway. I have seen 21 MPG on a trip. I get 'thumbs up' and waves and smiles every time I drive the car. I would love to keep it. All in all a nice and reliable car... I was planning on keeping it, so I made sure it was done right, but lost my winter storage...and the car is too clean to leave out in the weather this coming winter. I can assist you with shipping as I am familiar with it...but ultimately the pick-yp of the car is up to you. Will be more than happy to meet your shipper or pick you up at the airport/bus terminal/train station if you choose to drive it home. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like more pictures. Pete On Aug-25-14 at 13:46:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve Lowered.... I have over $4500. into this car...must go. Just had a situation come up that requires cash...sooooo....please bid accordingly. Reserve is just over half of what I have into it... |

Queens man knows how to party, disrupts Mets game with van
Fri, Jun 24 2016A New Yorker and all-around true American hero took his weekend festivities a little too far and landed himself in front of a judge last week. According to NBC New York, Nelson Hidalgo drove his unassuming Sprinter to Citi Field on Saturday, June 18, around 10:45 p.m. While the Mets were getting thrashed by the Braves, Hidalgo pulled up to the intersection of 127th street and 35th avenue. Hiding within the van's cargo area were 80 speakers driven by powerful amps, around $20,000 worth of car audio. Hidalgo opened the Sprinter's rear doors, deployed his amazing speaker system, cracked a cold Coors Light, and unleashed hell. Noise complaints immediately started flooding in to the police, including one from the Mets' bullpen. Soon, Hidalgo amassed a sizable crowd who had come to rock out and marvel at the lunacy of the Sprinter's sound system. The NYPD showed up eventually and, undaunted by noise and the crowd, clapped the irons on poor Nelson. The Sprinter was impounded and Hildago was charged with second-degree criminal nuisance, general noise prohibition, disorderly conduct, and obstructing the driver's view. "I know it's illegal, but it's the weekend," he explained to the cops as they hauled him away. Once they had him in custody, the NYPD realized that Hidalgo was the person they had been looking for in connection with absurdly loud music coming from various city junkyards in the dead of night. Hidalgo, who has no prior record, spent the night in the slammer but was released the next morning with no bail on the promise that he return for his court date on August 1. Related Video:
Stellantis mega-merger gets approval from FCA, PSA shareholders
Mon, Jan 4 2021MILAN — Shareholders of Fiat Chrysler and PSA Peugeot decisively voted Monday to merge the U.S.-Italian and French carmakers to create worldÂ’s 4th-largest auto company. Addressing separate meetings, both PSA Peugeot CEO Carlos Tavares and Fiat Chrysler Chairman John Elkann spoke of the “historic” importance of the vote, which combines legacy car companies that helped write the industrial histories of the United States, France and Italy. Before the merger is finalized, shares in the new company, to be called Stellantis, must the launched. It will be traded in Milan, New York and Paris. The marriage of PSA Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is built on the promise of cost-savings in the capital-hungry industry, but what remains to be seen is if it will be able to preserve jobs and heritage brands in a global market still suffering from the pandemic. The deal will create the worldÂ’s fourth-largest carmaker, with the capacity to produce 8.7 million cars a year, behind Volkswagen, Toyota and Renault-Nissan, and create 5 billion euros in annual synergies. “We are fully aware of the fact that together we will be stronger than individually,'' PSA CEO Carlos Tavares told a virtual gathering of eligible shareholders. “The two companies are in good health. These two companies have strong positions in their markets.” The new company will put together under one roof French mass-market carmakers Peugeot and Citroen, top-selling Jeep and Italian luxury and sports brands Maserati and Alfa Romeo - pooling companies that have helped define the industry in the United States, France and Italy. While the tie-up is billed as a merger of equals, the power advantage goes to PSA, with Tavares running Stellantis and holding the tie-breaking vote on the 11-seat board. Tavares is set to take full control of the company early this year, possibly by the end of January. Fiat Chrysler chairman John Elkann, heir to the Fiat-founding Agnelli family and Fiat ChryslerÂ’s biggest shareholder, will be the Stellantis chairman. Fiat Chrysler CEO Mike Manley will head North American operations, which is key to Tavares' long-time goal of getting a U.S. foothold for the French carmaker he has run since 2014, and the clear money-maker for Fiat Chrysler. Such a deal was long wanted by Fiat ChryslerÂ’s long-time CEO Sergio Marchionne, who had predicted the necessity of consolidation in the industry. He was unable to find a deal before his sudden death in July 2018.
MotorWeek retro review revisits the Chrysler PT Cruiser
Mon, Jun 29 2015I have a long history with the Chrysler PT Cruiser. My mom was working at Automobile magazine when it launched, and she brought home their long-term tester all the time. My buddy Adam's mom bought one in the early 2000s, and I drove it on many an occasion. When I left Winding Road in early 2010 and joined Autoblog, the car I got on Day 1 was... well, I think you can guess. I will never forget driving that 2010 PT Cruiser to a rest stop outside of Toledo, Ohio, to meet then editor-in-chief John Neff and buy his old camera. I will also never forget the look on Neff's face when he pulled into the parking lot in his 1991 Ford Taurus SHO, saw the PT, and started laughing. I have always hated this car. But when it launched around the turn of the millennium, it was a huge deal – not just for Chrysler, but for the industry. Retro styling was all the rage, and the PT had it in spades. On top of that, it was seriously functional – one of the first widely accepted tall hatchbacks in an era where Americans wanted sedans. MotorWeek has now dug up its original PT Cruiser review for its latest retro review offering. Watch the video above to see what the ever-charismatic John Davis and his crew thought of the PT way back when it was actually relevant.
