1996 Chrysler Cirrus Lx Sedan 4-door 2.5l No Reserve, Clean Car, Good Mileage on 2040-cars
Aberdeen, Maryland, United States
We understand that buying a vehicle online can sometimes leave you un-easy. We are aware that there are other dealers online that do not fully describe the vehicles listed. They might leave important information out, or not have a thorough description of that item. Our goal is simple. Word of mouth and return business is something we take very serious! We achieve this by providing you with all of the information YOU need to make a comfortable decision, and hopefully proceeding to your investment, a vehicle! We strive for A+ satisfaction. We do not want to waste anyone’s time, and definitely don’t want to mislead you. This is why we inform you of EVERYTHING we know, and provide you with detailed descriptions and conditions of the item for sale. You can own this vehicle if you maintain the highest bid! This is a NO RESERVE auction for a 1995 Chrysler Curris LX with only 90k miles on it. This mid size sedan will save you in the long run by cheap maintenance and great fuel economy. A vehicle like this should be cheap for anyone to insure as well. Who would of thought that this 4 door can get 20 mpg in the city and 29 on the open road? This vehicle looks like it has been maintained well but the leather upholstery gives a different impression. Seat covers will probably be the easiest solution you ever had. INTERIOR: The general condition looks lightly used, just look at the pictures. The leather on the seats are really the only issue. The perforated leather was probably a bad idea for Chrysler, it did not look like it was durable enough to withstand time. Everything else like the radio, windows, powered seats and locks are in working order, which is why I don't think this car was neglected. The heat works and the a/c is blows cold. The headliner isn't sagging but it has some small tares in it also. EXTERIOR: The body is in good shape. There aren't any rust holes or and major damage. There are some minor scratches and little dings here and there but nothing keeping the car from being practical. There isn't any clear coat fading on the hood or roof, just a little bit below the front headlights. This is a common spot for Chrysler this year. MOTOR/HANDLING: The Cirrus starts and idles with no smoke, odor, or knocking. The car goes into gear and shifts like any normal car would. The acceleration is nice, you can tell its a V6. The brakes do their job just fine at stopping the car. The steering is smooth and easy and the suspension is still firm and absorbent. This feels like a reliable car that would last anyone 100k miles without any major repairs. This is the perfect cheap, economical car that is presentable and comfortable. You can save on gas and big expensive repairs. It's not a Honda, but your not going to spend big for a big name car. You can get the same thing you need out of this one. Thank you for looking and good luck with the bidding. Please feel free to ask me any questions. -Daryl IMPORTANT INFORMATION (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY): IF this is a NO RESERVE auction, the vehicle being sold will sell to the highest bidder. IF you are really interested in this vehicle, enter your max bid. This is so no one can outbid you at the last minute trying to take your deal. FCA's Pentastar V6 gets more power, efficiency for 2016
Wed, Sep 2 2015Already a vital member of FCA's powertrain lineup, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is receiving major efficiency improvements for 2016. Thanks to a massive amount of new tech attached to the mill, fuel economy is up six percent, and torque below 3,000 rpm jumps nearly 15 percent. The updates arrive first in the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but they should proliferate to other models eventually. At least in the Grand Cherokee, the tweaks push power up five horsepower to 295 ponies. FCA's engineers went through the Pentastar from top to bottom to eke out as much efficiency as possible. For example, there's now a two-speed variable-valve lift system that can run in low- or high-lift modes. This upgrade is responsible for 2.7-percent better economy, the company claims. A new intake manifold with longer runners and updated variable-valve times also helps boost the torque output. Further improvements come from pushing the compression ratio to 11.3:1, from 10.2:1 before. Perhaps most impressive is that despite all of the innovations, the latest Pentastar actually weighs four pounds less than the current version. Beyond the Pentastar improvements, all of the FCA US gasoline engines, except for the Viper's 8.4-liter V10, will be E15-compatible for 2016. The company says that it wants to be ready for the higher ethanol content fuel's greater use in the near future.
Automakers not currently promoting EVs are probably doomed
Mon, Feb 22 2016Okay, let's be honest. The sky isn't falling – gas prices are. In fact, some experts say that prices at the pump will remain depressed for the next decade. Consumers have flocked to SUVs and CUVs, reversing the upward trend in US fuel economy seen over the last several years. A sudden push into electric vehicles seems ridiculous when gas guzzlers are selling so well. Make hay while the sun shines, right? A quick glance at some facts and figures provides evidence that the automakers currently doubling down on internal combustion probably have some rocky years ahead of them. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is a prime example of a volume manufacturer devoted to incremental gains for existing powertrains. Though FCA will kill off some of its more fuel-efficient models, part of its business plan involves replacing four- and five-speed transmissions with eight- and nine-speed units, yielding a fuel efficiency boost in the vicinity of ten percent over the next few years. Recent developments by battery startups have led some to suggest that efficiency and capacity could increase by over 100 percent in the same time. Research and development budgets paint a grim picture for old guard companies like Fiat Chrysler: In 2014, FCA spent about $1,026 per car sold on R&D, compared with about $24,783 per car sold for Tesla. To be fair, FCA can't be expected to match Tesla's efforts when its entry-level cars list for little more than half that much. But even more so than R&D, the area in which newcomers like Tesla have the industry licked is infrastructure. We often forget that our vehicles are mostly useless metal boxes without access to the network of fueling stations that keep them rolling. While EVs can always be plugged in at home, their proliferation depends on a similar network of charging stations that can allow for prolonged travel. Tesla already has 597 of its 480-volt Superchargers installed worldwide, and that figure will continue to rise. Porsche has also proposed a new 800-volt "Turbo Charging Station" to support the production version of its Mission E concept, and perhaps other VW Auto Group vehicles. As EVs grow in popularity, investment in these proprietary networks will pay off — who would buy a Chevy if the gas stations served only Ford owners? If anyone missed the importance of infrastructure, it's Toyota.
Hot sales have Detroit automakers shortening summer shutdowns
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Back in May, there was speculation that the Detroit Three automakers would maintain or perhaps even extend their traditional summer shutdowns, mostly due to a bitingly cold winter that saw below-freezing temperatures infiltrate the southernmost reaches of the US, putting a chill on auto sales. Now, though, the numbers are in, and thanks to some promising sales figures, it looks like some domestic line workers are going to be working clear through July, in some cases.
According to Automotive News, Ford has slashed its traditional two-week hiatus for factory workers in half at four of its plants, while both Chrysler and General Motors will keep factories running nonstop (two plants in Chrysler's case and a third of GM's factories).
This is, as we said, thanks to some positive numbers. Chief among those is the Seasonal Adjusted Annual Rate, which was at an eight-year high of 17 million units. Individual figures were less promising. GM, embroiled in its recall scandal, still saw a one-percent increase while Ford dropped six percent in year-over-year sales. Chrysler was the big winner, though, with a nine-percent jump in June.
