Up for auction is a used 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe that I have owned for four years.  This is a custom "Bermuda Blue" color that Chevrolet does not make anymore.  Right now I have a regular set of Z71 tires and wheels on the vehicle as shown in pictures and I'm also throwing in my 22'' Chrome Granite Alloy Wheels that have tire pressure sensors in them for you to monitor via dash display.  This vehicle has reached almost 105,000 miles with no engine problems.  The transmission was rebuilt last October 2012 and has been running smooth as well.  I originally bought this Tahoe in Anchorage, Alaska while serving in the military.  I have bought a newer vehicle now and it is time to pass this beautiful truck on.  This Tahoe has been almost all over the North American continent driving from Alaska to California, California to North Dakota, North Dakota to Texas and back.  This vehicle has current clean title and registration for the state of California as of January 2013 (expires Jan 2014).  Some of the features that I have really enjoyed on this vehicle is the remote start for those cold winters in Alaska and North Dakota, OnStar, and the heated seat warmers.  Items that were installed after I purchased this vehicle were the chrome door handles and chrome billet grille.  I still have the original blue door handles.  Also a nice fuel efficient thing with this Tahoe is the flex fuel feature where the vehicle is travelling down the road and not using as much power it switches from operating all eight Cylinders (V8 Mode) and switches to using four cylinders (V4) mode.  On long trips that aren't going through a lot of mountains and hills I have been able to range between 20-23 miles per gallon on one tank of unleaded fuel.

Another nice option installed on this vehicle is the rear DVD entertainment system which has been lightly used (includes two remote controls).  It has a yellow, white and red plug in for you external media devices such as XBOX, PlayStation, WII, etc.
Rear control air is installed, running boards, towing package, four wheel drive (4WD), rear automatic folding seats, automatic rear hatch opening via remote or inside the front cabin area, XM Sirius Satellite Radio Ready, Auxiliary plug, cruise control, leather seats (very good condition), power seats, heated seats (front and rear), privacy glass (tinted windows), BOSE sound system (awesome!!), automatic folding side mirrors, spare tire, memory seats, sliding sun roof, and many more amazing things that I will miss about this vehicle.

I have all the service records for the vehicle and has had its regularly scheduled maintenance.  Most recent maintenance as of April 10, 2013 was the rear differential fluid replacement, oil/oil filter change, coolant flush, spark plug replacement, and air filter replacement.  All of the service that has been accomplished is done at my local Chevrolet Dealership service department.

As for the exterior condition of the Tahoe I will say it is Very Good.  I try and wax it every other month.  There are a few light scratches on the front bumper of the vehicle that can be repaired using touch up paint.  I uploaded photographs of the Tahoe with the 22'' Granite Alloy rims installed on it and with the Z71 Tires and Wheels.  Currently the Tahoe has the Z71 tires and wheels on it due to the tire wear on the 22'' Granite Alloy.  Another reason for the Z71 tire and wheels on it is because I get a little bit better gas mileage than the 22'' wheels.

I am the second owner of this vehicle even though the records check on this might say that there is a third owner.  Only reason it says that is because I switched from Alaska Registration to California Registration.  This vehicle has not been in any accidents.  The only mechanical problem that I have had was the transmission went out early at 80,000 miles which was immediately rebuilt.

When it comes to you receiving the vehicle I can deliver it to you within 200 miles or you can arrange the shipping if you live outside the range.  You can come pick it up after purchase and payment has been received.

Thank you for taking the time to look over this auction and hope you will enjoy this vehicle as much as I have.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.  If you need more pictures or info please don't hesitate.

Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans

Thu, Apr 30 2020

Impala SS vs. Marauder — it was comparo that only really happened in theory. ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. We ran an unscientific Twitter poll that generated 851 votes, 63.9 percent of which backed the Impala. Muscle sedans, take your pick: — Greg Migliore (@GregMigliore) April 14, 2020 Then and now enthusiasts felt the Impala was a more complete execution with guts. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.

1983 Motorweek showdown pits Porsche 928S vs. Chevy Camaro Z28

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Last month, Motor Trend threw the Camaro Z/28 and Porsche 911 GT3 into the bear pit and let them fight it out. Way back in 1983, MotorWeek had the same idea, comparing the Camaro Z/28 to the Porsche 928S. At the time, the Camaro was America's best selling sports coupe, the 928S was Porsche's top-of-the-line model that also had the highest top speed of any car sold here. And the price differential was even more stark then: $13,600 for the Camaro, $45,000 for the Porsche. That put the Z/28's cast-iron, 5.0-liter V8 with 190 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque against the all-aluminum 4.7-liter V8 with 234 hp and 263 lb-ft in the 928S. Even with that and the Camaro being 14 inches longer than the Porsche, the American was a surprising 40 pounds lighter than the German. The show took them to Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia to see how close a relative performance bargain could hang with a the German GT. Both had five-speed manual transmissions, but the high-speed corners and tight sections of Summit Point would test other handling variables, including the "bone-rattling" Camaro's solid rear axle and disc and drum brake setup vis-a-vis the four-wheel disc brakes and independent suspension on the "firm-but-smooth" Porsche. Paradoxically, the larger disparity 22 years ago resulted in a closer result. Check out the video to see how the Summit was won. A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes

Wed, Feb 19 2014

There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.
