I've taken care of this vehicle with nothing but love. I did not short change any part or rig anything on the vehicle. 26" rockstarr wheels with 295/30/26 lexani tires. I also have the factory wheels. Tahoe LS 4x4 with leather interior. Everything has been professionally installed. K&N Air Filter. 2way remote start/alarm with LCD remote and up to one mile range. Chrome Euro style headlights and diamond cut bumper lights, new fog light housing with ultra white bulbs for fogs, low and high beams. Normal amber for turn signals and blue led for DRL lights. Rear led tail lights with LED HID back up lights. Led Mirror puddle lights, Led rear bumper license plate bulbs. Everything looks great and everything matches perfectly. i kept the interior pretty stock as i like how GM makes their vehicles i did add a New kenwood double din dvd system with matching kenwood wide angle rearview camera. New 15" fold down widescreen. New pioneer 6.5" speakers in each door and 2" speakes in rear c-pillars. 8" audiobahn murdered-out series shallow sub for midbass in factory location.Three 12" pioneer subwoofers in custom box which still allows room for storage and third row seat. Kicker 2400watt mono amp. GM Bose 5 channel amp running miss and highs. New fuel pump, new alternator, new emissions system (evap pump the whole nine), new steering/suspension (about three years old). K&N air filter & recharge lot (never have to buy an air filter again). New catalytic converter. New oxygen sensors. New abs wheel speed sensors. New oil pan gasket. New transmission shift cable. New gas tank cap. Everything on this vehicle works. I hate to sell the vehicle but it's time I get something a little less selfish for my kids (a minivan)

This vehicle only has two issues that I've never addressed because partly time constraints. The main problem is the speedometer is off by 10mph with these wheels. I had the speedometer and odometer fixed in 2013 because the odometer LCD display went out for about a week, after spending $150 on that I didn't have it in me to put more money into it. The other issue is rust around the rear key hole of the rear hatch which is common on these vehicles. Also the rear hatch latch is broken. So the rear hatch opens, closes, locks just fine but the rear window doesn't open. It's a $300 repair just to open the rear hatch window; I figure i would pass on that as well. The body is in excellent shape. A lot of people believe this vehicle is way newer. I will truely miss this vehicle.

Personal testimonies show real-world effect of plugging in with Chevy Volt

Mon, Jan 13 2014

At this point, there are tens of thousands of individual stories about what it's like to live with a Chevrolet Volt. But it also remains informative to take a look at one of these in depth. For example, one Atlanta-area Volt owner says he's cut his cents-per-mile ownership costs by almost 40 percent compared to his previous car primarily because of his ability to drive almost all the time on electric power. Jeffrey Cohen told Clean Technica that he put about 14,000 miles on his Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid for the year that ended October 2013, and that more than 92 percent of those were on electrons. He estimates his "lifetime" miles per gallon rating at a whopping 384 mpg, a figure pushed upward by the fact that he installed a Level 2 charger at home while his employer added an external 110-volt charger at work. Cohen is spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents in his Infiniti M35. As a result, he's spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents a mile with his prior vehicle, an Infiniti M35. About two-thirds of those Volt costs are for the $349-a-month lease payments, while 15 percent is insurance, 11 percent is for the charger and seven percent for the gas and electricity that actually powers the car. Helping lower that last figure is an overnight electricity rate that's about 10 percent of Cohen's daytime rate. Chevy parent General Motors hopes such testimonies will re-trigger sales for the Volt in 2014. Last year, GM sold 23,094 Volts, down 1.6 percent from 2012. We expect our readers have similar stories they'd like to share in the Comments. Mustang, Camaro, Challenger gallop onto USPS pony car postage stamp set

Tue, Jul 19 2022

Some of America's most iconic cars are about to be immortalized on postage stamps. A new set by the U.S. Postal Service will celebrate the the golden era of pony cars, featuring five classic examples of Detroit iron. Each one is beautifully illustrated in oil-on-canvas style, with subjects in motion and sunlight glinting off the chrome, and would add a nice touch to any first-class letter. The pony car segment was all about (relatively) small, sporty alternatives to the full-size land yachts of the 1960s. They typically came equipped with 6-cylinder engines or small-block V8s. The category was named after the Ford Mustang, hence  the name. Some, though, argue that the Plymouth Barracuda, which was launched a couple of weeks before the Mustang, is the first. Luckily, the Falcon-based Mustang's distinct styling generated a sales sensation, or we might be calling them fish cars. Appropriately, one of the featured cars is a Mustang. But it's not just any Mustang. The 1969 Boss 302, seen here resplendent in Bright Yellow, was created for the hotly-contested SCCA Trans-Am racing series. One of its main rivals would have been the 1969 Chevy Camaro Z/28, also created specifically for the series, and is included in the set in Fathom Green. Representing Auburn Hills in the set is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T in Plum Crazy, while Southfield's American Motors gets a nod with an AMC Javelin in Big Bad Orange. The Mustang's platform cousin, a 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7, is portrayed in a gorgeous Burgundy Poly that almost looks incomplete without Neko Case on the hood. It's not the first time the USPS has honored America's rich car culture on its stamps. In 2013, it issues a series of muscle car stamps with the help of Richard Petty. That set featured a 1966 Pontiac GTO, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1970 Chevelle SS, 1970 Plymouth Hemi ’Cuda and, of course, a 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. Another set in 2016 featured classic pickup trucks. Going further back, a 2008 release had chroed and finned automobiles of the 1950s and a 2005 release featured sporty American cars of the same era. The pony car stamps will debut on August 25 at the Great American Stamp Show in Sacramento, California in partnership with the American Philatelic Society. The public is free to attend the dedication ceremony, but you must RSVP first. After that, they will be available at local post offices and on line at the USPS store.
