I am selling this week a 2000 Chevy Tahoe belonging to my neighbor because they don't currently have an eBay account. The car runs very well and was just treated to a tuneup, oil change and a minor exhaust leak at the pipe leading into the convertor was welded up and sealed. The car doesn't have any leaking issues. It does not smoke nor use oil between the oil changes and is very smooth running. There aren't any vibrations from bad U-joints or wheel weight problems and many miles were logged on the Interstate between California and Oregon where we live. It's necessary to have 4 wheel drive here where it snows during our Winters at this high elevation. Due to being parked at remote hunting places there are some dog scratching below Driver's window from other Labradors and such on the green paint of the Driver's door. This is the only place where there is paint damage. Rest of car is very shiny and paint looks quite good overall. The license plate shown in pics will be kept to transfer to another vehicle later. The car can be driven with a trip permit if needed and registered later by your local DMV. Permit is an addl $31.00 to obtain locally. Of course if you buy this and send a truck to pick it up you won't need a license plate.
The car is the last year of this style before Chevy redesigned the front end and dash and the engine was smaller. this car has a Vortec 350 with the 700R4 automatic transmission and a pushbutton 4 wheel drive on the dash. The factory trailer towing package was also ordered which included a transmission and power steering cooler and the car has a trailer brake controller inside at the lower center dash area. Also 3 power point sockets for convenience. The rear diff was leaking in January and has since been resealed and the oil changed so there are no leaking issues at this time. Recently tires were bought and a battery so those will not have issues at this time. The Air Conditioning works very well in front and back and in one photo the original Owner's manual folder with books are in the glove compartment, not missing. The front seats have warming heaters so the leather isn't cold to sit on in Winter if desired. There is also a cargo cover to protect belongings from view and privacy glass in the rear. The stereo works properly and will play either cassettes or a CD with optional player. The Home Link buttons are for opening a driveway gate as well as garage doors for a total of 3 buttons. A local dealer of yours can set this up. It's located on the inside roof console; see picture of that for detail The glass is all good and all power windows, outside mirrors and door locks work properly. The gas level guage swings from empty to full at will and sometimes stops at the real level so we use the odometer #2 and reset to calculate distance to fill. You will have to find loose wire or problem.
There's no rust issues on this car and the painted bumpers are very good with some rock chips on the front; no big scrapes or paint transfer. Front grille guard was put on a few years ago. Car has been here for past 5 years. His wife has a different SUV and truck for Winters so this vehicle isn't needed anymore. Please consider this very nice car for your own if you're reading this ad. We can pick you up at the local airport or AMTRAK station if you come in to drive this car home. It will give you a chance to get acquainted with it driving home on a trip. If you have questions for me please call me (Lee) anytime at (541) 884-9020 and leave a message. I'll get back to you.
Bid this vehicle with confidence and Good Luck Bidding!!

The Volt Dance had precedent; meet the Chevy Footlockers
Sun, Dec 14 2014Marketing in the auto industry can get weird sometimes – really quite bizarre, in fact. For example, remember the Chevy Volt dance from the 2009 Los Angles Auto Show? If not, a group boogied to a song about the electric car, and it was every bit as awkward (and hilarious) as that sounds. In fact, that innocent bit of promotion lives in infamy, as some pundits grabbed hold of it during General Motors' bailout and asked why America's tax dollars were going to such things. The Chicago Auto Show has been digging through its vault of vintage videos, and it has come up with something that might actually be worse than that Volt-themed routine. They're called the Chevy Footlockers, and they're a dance troupe somehow promoting the Cavalier at the 1988 Chicago show. The connection between the car and their routine is unclear, but it's gloriously cheesy in a Chippendales-meets-AC Slater sort of way. Also, there are props towards the end, but we aren't going to spoil them for you, because you just have to watch for yourself. As a bonus, there's another (brief) clip below showing a female dance group with the Geo Tracker at the '91 Chicago show, and they sing, too. Scroll down to watch both of these oddities. Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites
Sun, Jan 7 2024Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
