1999 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4 Wheel Drive 4 Door
The truck was originally on a two year lease when new and was turned in at the end of the lease.
I then purchased the truck on 12/31/2001 from Parker Buick-GMC in Morehead City, NC. The truck had 44,321 miles on it and was in like new condition.
I have all of the original paperwork when I bought it as well as the original window sticker.
The original 5.7 Vortec engine overheated with my wife five years ago on a trip due to a leaking water pump and the engine blew. She claims she didn't know it was overheating but that's another story.
I had a replacement 5.7 Vortec engine which had 100,000 miles on it professionally installed a week later on 6/28/2008. The truck itself had 203,729 miles on it. I have the original receipt from this work.
So although the truck itself has 231,750 miles on it, the engine and peripherals only have 128,021 miles on it.
My wife hit a deer four years ago. The deer impacted the right front bumper, swung around and hit the front passenger door. The door was never fixed or replaced (see picture).
The leather seat bottom of the driver's seat is heavily worn. The passenger seat is fine but I installed matching cloth seat covers on both the driver's and passenger's seats.
The air conditioner quit working last year. We recharged the system and included dye in order to diagnose the problem. The compressor needs replacement. All other AC components are good.
There are a few scratches on the doors and tailgate. The driver's side door has some scratches from my golden retriever greeting me.
The carpeting, headliner and cargo area have various stains that may or may not come out. They could all use a good cleaning.
The Uniroyal Laredo tires have about 75% tread remaining.
The latest full service (oil, filter, tire rotation) has 2,000 miles on it.
The brakes are due for inspection at the next service interval (1,000 miles).
NC title is clean, clear, and in hand.
Two original keys and one original key fob is included. The key fob needs a replacement battery.
The truck runs great and I would not hesitate to take off on a cross country trip with it this minute.
The 4 wheel drive works perfectly and I use it on occasion at the local beaches.
This has been the most reliable and most utilitarian vehicle I have ever owned. I hate to part with it but I'm a real estate agent and in need of a later model vehicle for clients.
Please contact me through the "Contact the Seller" link if you need any additional information or pictures.
Thank You,
Rod J

Was the C7 Corvette cut from Beyonce's Super Bowl halftime show?
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Someone was bound to receive a free 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray during the Super Bowl XLVII festivities; it just wasn't who we thought it was going to be. Despite a report back in December that superstar Beyoncé Knowles would be getting an all-new Corvette during her halftime performance, that turned out not to be the case. Joe Flacco, starting quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, did in fact win a Corvette for his MVP performance.
So what transpired that prevented Beyoncé from rolling on stage in the new Chevrolet? Anyone who knows isn't telling, but according to Yahoo! Autos, General Motors said that for one reason or another a deal "did not work out," and it appears to have been an eleventh-hour change. Regardless of who's to blame or what prevented this from happening, we're sure Chevy has had no problems getting attention for the C7 Corvette since it was introduced last month.
Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green
Fri, 01 Mar 2013With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'
Mon, Mar 17 2014As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.
