This very rare 1972 C/k Suburban Custom Deluxe with only 91k original miles. Painted in the very desirable White/Ochre/White. It is hands down the cleanest original that I have seen. And if you follow my auctions you know I deal exclusively in Chevrolet trucks and know everything to look for on these vehicles and this one is impeccable! It is completely original except for one repaint that we were told is approximately 6-7 years old that shines up beautifully as you can see in the pics. Being very conservative I would rate the paint as a 8 of 10 due to any minor nicks or scratches from driving.  As you can see the body is laser straight in all it's original sheet metal showing no signs of any body damage ever. All the gaps between the doors, fenders, & hood line up just as they should. The doors open and close tight with absolutely no door sag.(All rubber & felt replace at time of repaint) All the chrome and trim are also in excellent shape.

The story behind this truck is the gentleman who purchased it new had it all the way until his passing. During the 40 years he owned it another gentleman that attended the same church as him always inquired about buying it from him, but he said he could never part with it. Well it turns out he actually left it to be given to his church friend in his will. Unfortunately, his friend also fell into bad health soon after and went to sell it to a local car dealer which in turn contacted me about it knowing that this was the type of vehicles I deal in. I have enjoyed it for some time, but now I am ready to move on and let someone else enjoy it. I have set a very fair reserve on this so I can make room in the shop and fund some of my other projects, However if it does not reach that number I will keep it in my collection as they are only becoming more and more rare and also more expensive.

Beyond it's condition what also makes it so unique is all the factory options. As you can see on the trim tag pic it has all the creature comforts of a modern SUV such as 3rd row seating, trailer brake controls, and FRONT & REAR AC!! And of course all the other options you would expect from the top of the line model such as: 400 Big block V8, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Tilt, and the original AM/FM Radio, Factory Blue Tinted Glass, and the full trim package of body molding.

Powered by a BBC 400 with 91k original miles with a smooth shifting 400 Turbo Hydromatic transmission. As you can see on the trim tag it is equipped with the big block hwy running gear and cruises at highway speeds. The engine starts up immediately and runs smooth. It handles very tight and just in general hits the road well much like a modern vehicle. I have personally drove this truck on 500+ mile road trips with absolutely no issues. Even though it has never sit for any period of time I had an entire tune up that included all the fluids, belts, and brakes gone through.

The interior of this truck is absolutely gorgeous! It is all original and in unbelievable shape. No tears or scuffs of any kind. The dash and gauge bezels, steering wheel, glove box, and carpet are excellent. Hard to believe but it looks almost as good as it did back in 72!

The bottom line is this the cleanest, nicest original survivor C/K Suburban I have ever came across. If your looking for an unmolested Suburban I assure you that you won't be disappointed in this one nor will you probably come across another like this ever again. If you have any questions please call Jeremy 864-940-4576

Note: I reserve the right to end this auction early as I will also be marketing it locally for sale. So if you want this truck please don't wait til the last minute to bid as it may already be gone. I can be reached through ebay or my phone number listed above. The winning bidder must make a non-refundable $500 deposit within 24hrs of the auction end and be able to pay the remaining balance within 7 days of auction end.

Personal testimonies show real-world effect of plugging in with Chevy Volt

Mon, Jan 13 2014

At this point, there are tens of thousands of individual stories about what it's like to live with a Chevrolet Volt. But it also remains informative to take a look at one of these in depth. For example, one Atlanta-area Volt owner says he's cut his cents-per-mile ownership costs by almost 40 percent compared to his previous car primarily because of his ability to drive almost all the time on electric power. Jeffrey Cohen told Clean Technica that he put about 14,000 miles on his Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid for the year that ended October 2013, and that more than 92 percent of those were on electrons. He estimates his "lifetime" miles per gallon rating at a whopping 384 mpg, a figure pushed upward by the fact that he installed a Level 2 charger at home while his employer added an external 110-volt charger at work. Cohen is spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents in his Infiniti M35. As a result, he's spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents a mile with his prior vehicle, an Infiniti M35. About two-thirds of those Volt costs are for the $349-a-month lease payments, while 15 percent is insurance, 11 percent is for the charger and seven percent for the gas and electricity that actually powers the car. Helping lower that last figure is an overnight electricity rate that's about 10 percent of Cohen's daytime rate. Chevy parent General Motors hopes such testimonies will re-trigger sales for the Volt in 2014. Last year, GM sold 23,094 Volts, down 1.6 percent from 2012. We expect our readers have similar stories they'd like to share in the Comments. Anti-purist 1963 Ferrari GTE sports hot rod Chevy V8

Thu, Oct 8 2015

I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari. Check out Road Heads' interview with this custom GTE's owner, which is followed by a brief test drive. And of course, head into Comments afterwards, and let us know what you think. Is this Yankee-powered 250 GTE blasphemous or badass?

Mary Barra reportedly confirms GM's electric pickup truck plans

Tue, Apr 30 2019

According to Motor Authority, CEO Mary Barra confirmed General Motors' intentions to build an electric pickup truck this week. Whether or not it would be an all-new vehicle is unknown. The news comes not even a week after Ford announced a $500 million investment in electric-vehicle startup Rivian. First, electric powertrains were integrated into cars. Then came the crossovers and the SUVs. Naturally, then, the next wave will be pickup trucks. Ford is set to produce an electric F-150, Rivian has the R1T, and now General Motors has reportedly confirmed its plans to introduce a competitor into the field. The article says the topic was brought up in a recent investor call as part of a brief overview of the automaker's electrification strategy. That's where the details end, however, as there is no indication of a timeline, what GM brand would carry the truck, or whether it would be an entirely new product or an adaptation of a current model. The latter seems most likely, which points to the Chevrolet Silverado or the GMC Sierra as possibilities. Chevrolet has been GM's electrification leader this decade with the Bolt and Volt, so an electric Silverado would align well with that messaging and branding. However, an electric pickup would likely be a pricier premium product, which could align it better with GMC. Autoblog has reached out to GM for comment and will update this space when we get a response. Green Rumormill Chevrolet GMC Truck Electric Future Vehicles Mary Barra electric truck chevrolet silverado
