ALOT to say here about this truck so please read it all.

This truck has had alot of money spent on it and all work aside from the stereo upgrades was professionally done by Trick Trucks.  If you are looking for a nice truck that was done the right way, here it is.  This truck was bought as a standard Suburban LT and immediately taken to Trick Trucks to turn it into the beautiful truck it is today.

By looking at this truck you will see that it shines as new as it did in 1999 and the body is completely rust free and straight as an arrow.  I will try and list everything that has been done, I will most likely miss something and have to add it later.  There is just so much.

All photos in this listing were just taken yesterday, so what you see is what you will be getting.

Okay first things first things first , all glass besides the 2 rear doors is brand new with new trim around it.  This includes the front windshield, all 4 doors and glass panels in the rear on each side.  Nothing was wrong with the original, just wanted new.  All glass besides the front windshield has been tinted with top of the line 3M tint.  Its simply the best and has a lifetime warranty.

The motor is a BRAND NEW factory remanufactured 5.7 Vortec that only has 9,500 miles on it right now.  To say this truck runs good is an understatement.  This motor will last forever.  Nothing wrong with the original, again just wanted this truck to be as new as it could possibly get and having a new motor installed was part of the vision for the truck.  This thing runs like a brand new vehicle!!

Also under the hood are 2 Yellow Top Optima batteries and another in the rear of the truck beside the speaker box.  These are top of the line batteries, one is for the truck engine and the others are for the security system and stereo to run off of.  Best of the best for this truck!!

A Viper alarm system was installed with remote start.  Start it from the remote or by phone as far as a mile away.  Had to protect the investment and Viper is the best!!

The truck has a 6" Rough Country suspension lift and 3" body lift, complete with Rancho shocks.  Again Trick Trucks did this thing the right way and it is simply a joy to drive.  We own an Escalade and I swear this thing rides just as good with this lift on it.  It is simply amazing that a big truck like this drives and rides like it does.  You will be shocked!!

RCX, which is Rough Country suspension, skid plates were installed under the vehicle  for maximum protection

Black Nerf bars also on each side with foot steps and black rain guards around all 4 windows

The truck sits on beautiful Mickey Thompson Baja 38 x 15.5 R20LT tires and stunning 20" chrome wheels.  I get compliments on the wheels everytime I drive the truck, they really set the whole truck off and shine like you wouldnt believe.

A Rola roof rack has been installed on top and believe it or not they dont make these long enough for this truck so once again Trick Trucks did it right and got 2 roof racks and custom made an extension to add to the middle of the rack to make it the full length of the vehicle.  They did an awesome job and it looks great.  Rola is the way to go!

A custom front bar has been welded to the frame and Trick Trucks worked their magic again drilling holes straight through the front bumper and getting the job done right.  On the bar are a set of 3 PIAA lights and on top of the cargo rack are another 5 PIAA lights.  There are 3 push button PIAA switches that control these lights on the dash to the left of the steering wheel.  One switch controls the front 3, one controls the middle 3 on top of the truck, and one controls the 2 end lights on top of the truck.  They did a fantastic job running all the wires and it looks and works great.  PIAA is top of the line and again this baby gets the best!!

All the lines that needed extended and other extensions that were needed underneath to allow for the lift were also done by Trick Trucks, and also had the old gas tank taken off and replaced with a new larger 40 gallon tank.  Also sitting under the truck are neon lights all the way around that work with a remote control.  I have it set now to light up while the truck is started with the remote start and they go off when you take off.

As far as lights go, installed are HID lights in the front and new LED lights in the back.  They really look good at night and a must have for this truck.

2 brand new black mirrors were installed on each side of the truck and the black matches with the rest of the trim on the truck.  Looks good and a nice add on to help set it off.

Around the fenders are Carbon Fiber fender flares, I didnt want just plain old fender flares so this was definitely the way to go for me. I actually havent seen any trucks in my area that have carbon fiber flares, so these definitely help make this truck elite.

A Draw Tite tow package has also been installed in the rear and tow hooks on the front of the truck.  Also going with the truck is an Aluminum drop down hitch which takes care of the lift and gets you pulling in style.  I will take a pic of the hitch as well, its really nice.

Inside the truck is an unbelievable sound system which all starts with a Kenwood KVT-516 head unit complete with navigation, bluetooth, dvd player, and a ton more.  Google the model and you will see all that this baby does.  You can also link it to your phone and do hands free with it.  Had a small mic installed at the top left of the windshield for that as well.

I am going to post some pics now and will update more about the stereo and inside of the truck either tomorrow evening or Friday.  So please check back for that.  I also will be adding pictures of the inside of the truck.  I wanted to take pictures today of the inside, but we go from a gorgeous day yesterday, to a major rainstorm today and it is still raining so hopefully I can get it done tomorrow and add them.  They will be added by the weekend, so check back for those.

Anyway bid with confidence, this truck has been done right and you will not be disappointed with it.  I guarantee that.  If you are within 90 miles of me I will personally deliver the truck to your doorstep fully detailed.  Will also offer free pickup at Dulles airport if anyone is interested in that or will assist with shipping if you need to have it delivered to you.  I really dont want to sell this truck and going to miss it dearly, but unfortunately I have to.  So hopefully it will be going to a good home and someone that will take care of it like I have.

Check back for pictures of the inside of the truck

If you want to come drive the truck, you are more than welcome, just let me know and we will set it up

On Jan-31-13 at 14:53:42 PST, seller added the following information:

Okay just added pictures of the interior.  The only pictures I did not take are the third row seat, which looks brand new and as if never sat in, and subs and amps which I will tell you about and if anyone wants pictures of those please let me know and I can send them via email.

As far as the interior goes it all looks in pretty good shape aside from the front where there are tears on both the drivers and passenger side seats, which is expected with these being the original seats.  That was the last project that I had to do for this truck, my vision was to remove the middle and put bucket seats in there and either replace the front seat with a newer model or have this one recovered, which I was actually leaning towards as they are just so comfortable.  The front seats on both sides are power.  There are no holes in any of the carpet or major stains.  It all looks good.

All windows and locks are power and work perfectly.

Stereo wise, I mentioned the head unit which is a Kenwood KVT-516 and that comes with a remote as well.  There are tweeters inside both backseat doors as you can see in the pictures and all door speakers are Alpine.  In the rear there is a speakerbox that has 2 Alpine R15 subs in it that is hooked up to 2 seperate amps, an Alpine and a Boston Acoustics.  The stereo is AWESOME!!  The entire interior truck has been sound proofed with Dynamat to keep any vibratations and rattles from occuring.  It was a must for a stereo like this one.

This truck has NEVER been offraoded or ran hard at all.  Alot of me is in this truck and its kinda like my third child.  I really want the truck to go to an owner who is going to appreciate it and take care of it like me.  This truck will last you a very long time and you wont find a better truck that has been done the right way and if you drive and come see it, you will agree.  I cant say enough good things about this truck and am really going to hate to see it go.

If anyone has any questions, wants more pictures, or wants to come drive the truck, feel free to let me know and I will make it happen

GM recalling 316k vehicles due to headlamp faults

Mon, Dec 1 2014

General Motors has announced a recall covering 316,357 vehicles globally, due to the possibility of sporadic or permanent failure of the low-beam headlamps. 273,182 of these vehicles are in the United States, while the remaining affected units are in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere. This recall includes the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse (pictured above), 2006-07 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, 2006-07 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2006-07 Buick Rainier, 2006-08 Saab 9-7X, and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. In an email sent to Autoblog, General Motors explains that if the headlamp driver modules are not functioning correctly, "the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate." GM states that this problem does not affect things like high-beams, turn signals, marker lamps, or foglamps. As of this writing, GM states it "has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been notified, but the recall has not yet posted to the government agency's website. Scroll down to read the full details in GM's email. General Motors is recalling 273,182 Buick LaCrosse sedans and Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Saab and Isuzu midsize SUVs in the U.S. for possible intermittent or permanent loss of low beam headlamps. Affected models are: 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse sedans; 2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and 2006 TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X and 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender midsize SUVs. If the headlamp driver modules is not operating correctly, the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate. This condition does not affect the high-beam headlamps, marker lamps, turn signals, or fog lamps. GM has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents. The total population, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and exports from North America is 316,357. The NHTSA was sent the Part 573 information for this recall on November 25. It has not yet posted to the NHTSA website. A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
