You are bidding on an amazing, reliable, luxurious and durable 2003 Z71 Premium Package Chevrolet Suburban!

This vehicle currently has 184xxx miles and is in excellent mechanical condition!  It is ready to go another 100,000 miles easily.  If you know anything about a Suburban, you know they can easily go 300,000 miles if mechanically well maintained.

This vehicle honestly starts, runs, and shifts like it came off the factory line.  It has been excellently maintained since my ownership at 140,000.  The old owner also shared my attention to mechanical detail, but let his wife drive the vehicle and kids sit in the back freely.  They were not careful and the leather and exterior are now in fair condition because of it.  With that being said, the vehicle has always had timely oil changes and services since day one sparing no expense from the previous owner and myself.  The first owner didn't keep maintenance records, but promised me it was well taken care off mechanically throughout his ownership.

My records pick up at 140,000.  This vehicle has every bell and whistle you could ever imagine.  My personal favorites are the OnStar capabilities, XM Radio, Bose Sound, DVD Player, captain chairs in front and back, third row, tons of cigarette lighters for your electronic use, great handling, smooth ride, huge trunk, amazing four wheel drive that will leave you stuck nowhere, lifetime (comes with cleaning kit) K&N Air Filter, and did I say space?  This truck is so roomy, you could have 7 people all sitting comfortably.  Oh, and most importantly the power.  This truck will tow and accelerate better than most in the game.  This is a great undervalued truck being sold at a devalued cost.  Blue book in fair condition puts it at $6,000-$7000 or more.  I will let it go for much less as I am moving and no longer will need this great truck, or else I would keep it forever.  This vehicle will not let you down for many thousands of miles to come.  Any questions, please feel free to ask.

Here are the are the 100% honest things wrong with the vehicle that I have not had time to fix:

1. There is a small rod in the steering wheel that is slightly corroded.  This is a very common problem in this model and year.  This corrosion causes slight vibration only when sometimes turning left and if turning at very high speeds.  It has honestly never bothered me, so I never replaced it.  It does not bother performance whatsoever.  $100 bucks for repair

2. This vehicle has some rust spots, but none significantly on the body and the amounts are completely in line with the year and mileage of the vehicle.  There are only two spots that are developing on the body.   There is a small spot on the left rear panel and one on the passenger rear right door.  Both have been treated with rust protected coating and repainted to match the vehicle.  This seems to keep the rust from spreading.  Should be visible in photo. The front guard has also been painted to match the rest of the vehicle since it was fading.  The Chevrolet marker on the front hood has also been painted due to fading.

3. The right rear tail light is out and this has just occurred today.  I attempted to change it personally and it was unsuccessful.  Probably needs to go to dealership to see if there is a short or may require better quality bulb.  $12-$100 for repair

4. The trunk springs could use replacing as it does not hold the trunk up too well anymore.  I've always just used the gate that lifts up.  Very cheap repair.  Just $20

5. The body is in fair condition.  It has very small dents and scratches in places.  All from the old owner.  There is also a little piece of plastic missing on the side of the front bumper.  Is not noticeable unless really looking.

6. That’s it! Just remember it is a used vehicle and can’t be perfect.  I have done my best to describe this vehicle.  The vehicle is sold as is and no returns or exchanges will be accepted.

7. This truck is in amazing mechanical condition as noted by the few problems.

8. Lastly, you are responsible for picking this vehicle up and a $500 deposit is needed to PayPal immediately upon winning the auction.  The rest of the payment is due through Paypal in 3 days.    Thank you and happy bidding!

Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads

Sun, May 31 2015

Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed. This is how GM is hiding new Chevy Volt in public

Wed, Oct 1 2014

General Motors is letting the public know that, well, it's not about to let the public know anything else about the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. But the automaker is willing to talk about its camouflaging process for upcoming versions of the extended-range plug-in. So it's a half-hearted secret, at best. GM actually has a "camouflage engineer" charged with creating ways to disguise the styling of new vehicles. In the Volt's case, the company is applying black and white swirly color patterns on top of the materials, such as plastics, vinyl and foam, that are used liberally across the body. It's all part of a teaser campaign that started last month with pictures of part the 2016 Volt. Earlier this month, GM said it was keeping track of Volt drivers' habits as it works on the next-gen model. The company noted that more than four out of five trips are being made in all-electric driving mode, and that 60 percent of Volt owners use a plain-old 100-volt outlet to recharge their cars. The car is slated to make its global debut at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next January, and the early word is that performance and all-electric range will be improved (we should hope so). The car will also be sleeker. By how much, we can't tell yet, because of those darn swirly patterns. GM's got more non-details in its press release below. Engineers charged with hiding styling while vehicle testing proceeds in public DETROIT – The styling of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is one of the automotive world's best-kept secrets. Keeping customers and media eager to see the successor to the groundbreaking original at bay until the new Volt debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January is tricky business. First, it is engineers, not designers, who are charged with creating camouflage that balances styling secrecy with the need to validate the Volt and its systems in public. "If it were up to me it would be a shoebox driving down the road," said Lionel Perkins, GM camouflage engineer. "The design team wants us to cover more of the vehicle and the engineering team needs to have enough of the vehicle's weight and aero exposed so that the tests in the development process are consistent with the product that will come to market." The engineers responsible for the "cool" designs covering the car might deserve style points but their efforts are intended strictly to hide the metal beneath.

New Chevy Malibu helps parents monitor teen driver's performance

Thu, Apr 2 2015

For teens, a driver's license can represent freedom. For parents, it can represent fear. Now there's a way parents can alleviate some of their worries and monitor their teen drivers. The 2016 Chevy Malibu, which debuted Wednesday at the New York Auto Show, contains a new feature that tracks driving performance and helps inexperienced drivers rein in some of their more dangerous habits. Accessed through a password in the car's infotainment system, parents can learn how far their child has driven, how fast they've gone and how many times they've braked hard, among other features. "It's an in-vehicle report card that gives parents information," says Mary Ann Beebe, one of the lead engineers who designed the system. "It's meant to be used as a teaching tool. Parents can sit down and talk with their teen about, 'Here are some areas where you're doing well, and here's some where you can use improvement.'" Car accidents are the leading cause of death for teens ages 16 to 19, and only last week, AAA released a study that found their driving behavior can leave them particularly susceptible to crashes. General Motors had sought ways to help educate and train younger drivers. In an era where data can be harvested from cars, monitoring performance is one way to provide information. Parents access the Teen Driver system in the car through a PIN-number entered into the Malibu's infotainment system. The report card can only be seen in the car – so far, it's not available via a smartphone app, like some other types of on-board diagnostic information. The system is activated by the use of a specially programmed key fob that lets the system know who is driving the car. Once the vehicle recognizes the key fob, it takes preventive measures to ensure safer conduct behind the wheel: Until the driver and front passenger buckle their seat belts, the radio is muted. Safety systems such as forward-collision assist and electronic stability control are automatically turned on. Parents can preset preferred speed limits, and drivers will hear a warning if that sound is exceeded. "We have these great technologies, and we want to make sure we turn them on for the teen," Beebe said. There are no geo-location aspects of the program, and data is stored on the car, not uploaded to the Cloud or even seen by General Motors, she said.
