2003 Chevy Suburban, 1500 LT, 4WD

This Suburban is loaded with every option.  Full leather interior, dual zone climate control, dvd entertainment package w/ 2 sets of wireless headphones, 6 cd-changer, Onstar, Serius/XM Satelite Radio.... everything!

We are the original owners and purchased the car brand new from a dealer. It has typical mileage for a 2003 model, most of which was highway.  It is mechanically sound, does not burn oil, has never been in an accident, gets an average of 16 mpg, and has been a fantastic car, and the vehicle report will back this up.  We had 3 sons, now grown, and we're downsizing, everything, and this is on the list!

I have sold a couple vehicles on Ebay without a problem, because I make it a point to be very accurate in my descriptions.  My wife had an "altercation" with our mailbox, that damaged the driver side from the driver's door back to the rear quarter panel.  Imagine having the edge of a mailbox running down the side as the car drove by.  The result was some indentations in a straight line down the side and some paint damage.  Because the repair cost would have come entirely out of our pocket, I did some basic repair on it myself.  There is no problem with rust, but if you're into cosmetics, it could use some light body work and paint, as it is noticeable.  I have included several pictures so you can be the judge. The paint on the rest of the car is in good shape. We are NON-SMOKERS and the interior is in very good condition with no holes, tears, etc., and shows typical wear for a 10 year old car.  All the electronics work fine with the exception of the interior dome lights.  It doesn't appear to be a fuse issue, but it can't be a major problem, since they are the only things that aren't working.  Cruise control, seat heaters, power seats, mirrors, map lights, and windows are all fine.  There are no fog lights.  Tires still have some tread, but are showing their age.  Though it has not been inspected, I wouldn't expect any problems.  It has recently passed the emissions inspection. With all things considered, this is definitely a lot of car for the money.

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two

Sun, Jun 19 2016

We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.

2022 Genesis GV70, raging at VW ID.4 tech and thoughts on a new Lexus LFA | Autoblog Podcast #696

Fri, Sep 17 2021

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor James Riswick. This week, they talk about driving the Genesis GV70, VW ID.4 and VW Taos. They talk about ways Chevy could "fix" the Camaro. James ranked all the James Bond films based solely on their starring cars. Next, they reach in the mailbag and discuss the question, "Do you think Lexus will make a successor to the LFA and, if so, what do you guys think it would be like?" After ruminating on that query, they dip into the mailbag a second time to recommend a sporty crossover to a listener in this week's Spend My Money segment. MotorWeek's 80's GM muscle coupe roundup includes Regal GN and Monte Carlo SS

Thu, Jan 29 2015

Even with just four brands in the family, General Motors still represents a performance powerhouse. Between the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Camaro Z/28, Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V, The General can still deliver plenty of thrills. The 1980s, though, saw the brand go even crazier with performance. While the Camaro and Corvette were still around back in the day, GM had a number of other interesting performance offerings. The Bowtie was complemented by the long-deceased Monte Carlo SS, while the now-defunct Pontiac and Oldsmobile offered the Grand Prix and thumping 442, respectively. And Buick, which isn't short on performance with its Regal GS and Verano Turbo, offered a much more serious vehicle, in the form of the Grand National (not to mention the Darth Vader-spec GNX). MotorWeek, in its hugely entertaining retro flashbacks, looks back on these three long-lost GM performance icons, and it's just as good as you might expect.
