For sale is this hard to find 2002 Chevy Suburban 2500 four wheel drive SUV. It was owned since new by the California Highway Patrol where it was used as a command vehicle, it was not a normal patrol vehicle. This Suburban has always been white and still has it's original paint which looks great. It never had any spotlights, lightbar or antennas drilled into the body. As you can see it has a custom Reunel front bumper with a Warn winch complete with remote control. This workhorse is ready to go anywhere and pull anything you want to, it is also equipped with the factory tow package, this would make a great tow vehicle, especially if you have a restored CHP vehicle.
This Suburban is well equipped with the 6.0 motor, automatic, four wheel drive, power steering and power antilock brakes, ice cold air conditioning, power windows and locks, tilt wheel cruise control, AM/FM radio and roof rack. It does not have a third seat or rear A/C. It runs very well, everything works as it should and there are no problems I've found. Don't let the miles scare you, CHP is well known for excellent maintainence of their vehicles and this one is no exception. The body is very good, there is no rust and only a few very minor dings and scratches. The interior is in excellent condition with no rips or excessive wear.
I will provide a smog certificate for California buyers. Vehicle sold AS IS. Inspections are welcome but must be done BEFORE the end of the auction. The buyer agrees to pay a $500.00 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the auction end, paypal is not acceptable for thee remaining balance due to their fees charged. Zero feedback bidders must provide their cotact information prior to bidding or your bid will be cancelled.

2015 Chevy Volt gets larger battery, though range remains the same
Sat, Jul 19 2014The Chevrolet Volt isn't changing much for the 2015 model year. According to specifications uncovered by Inside EVs, though, the new Volt's battery does have a slightly larger capacity. According to the spec sheet, this doesn't translate to increased range. Real world driving, though, might tell a different story. The 2015 Volt's battery storage is slightly higher than the outgoing model's, up from 16.5 kilowatt-hours to 17.1 kWh. According to GM's manager of electrification technology communications, Kevin Kelly, speaking to Green Car Reports, the increased capacity is "a late change done in the cell... just another continuous improvement to surprise and delight our customers." The stated electric range, however, stays at 38 miles. Inside EVs followed up on its original report, and found that drivers could see some advantage to the battery tweak. When they spoke to Kelly, he told them, "As a result of this change, we would expect that some customers may see a slight improvement in overall EV range." It's worth noting that when battery capacity increased from 16 kWh to 16.5 kWh for the 2013 Volt, electric range increased by three miles to the current 38, while MPGe went from 94 to 98. The price of the 2015 Chevrolet Volt remains steady, at $34,995. The actual cost to the customer is considerably less with the $7,500 federal tax credit, as well as any local incentives.
2016 Chevy Volt arrives with 50-mile EV range, 41 mpg [w/ video]
Mon, Jan 12 2015Let's start with the numbers. The 2016 Chevy Volt will have an all-electric range of 50 miles from a new, 18.4-kWh lithium battery. It will get 41 miles per gallon (combined) once the battery runs dry and have 102 MPGe. Oh, and it has five seats, sort of. To compare, today's four-seat 2015 Volt has a 38-mile range from a 17.1-kWh battery in a powertrain that offers 37 mpg and 98 MPGe. So, across the board, there are notable improvements. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk story. General Motors will unveil the new Volt at the Detroit Auto Show later today, but it's been talking about how this new version – the first major plug-in hybrid vehicle to get a serious redo in the modern era – was crafted with reams and reams of data from first-gen Volt customers. At a preview event for journalists last week, GM executive chief engineer Pam Fletcher told Autoblog that these owners "gave us the recipe" to make the second-gen model. At the top of the request list was more range (check), more "fun-to-drive" behavior (check?) and a smoother and quieter experience (we'll assume a check here, given that the new 1.5-liter four-cylinder – the first North American application of this new engine family – should offer more power with less noise than the previous 1.4-liter, four-cylinder powerplant). Other customer-driven changes in the new Volt include a different place to store the charging cable (in the side of the trunk instead of under the load floor) and a new brake system with improved blended regenerative braking feel as well as driver-selectable regen levels. The requested 50-mile range comes from a new, lighter battery that has increased capacity from fewer cells (192 vs. 288) and a simplified control architecture. Along with the new battery, the electric drive unit is a two-motor deal that is up to 12 percent more efficient and 100 pounds lighter, while also being "tremendously smaller," notes Fletcher. It offers 294 pound-feet of torque and a maximum 149 horsepower of "motoring power" delivered to the wheels. GM says it has worked hard to reduced the amount of rare earth materials in these motors, and one of them doesn't use any at all. The new powertrain offers improved acceleration times, as well. The 2016 Volt can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.4 seconds, a seven-percent improvement, while the 0-30 mph time has been improved by 19 percent, down to 2.6 seconds. The new Volt is more conventional looking, but certainly not completely ordinary.
