This 2001 Chevy Suburban 4x4 has done it's job and has taken good care of my family.  I've performed all the required maintenance on this grocery getter myself. My wife is the one who drives it and all she does is pick up groceries and drop kids off at soccer practice. I made a deal with my wife that I would get her a new car after college, now I have to keep my end of the deal. Shouldn't of open my big mouth! We just drove this suburban from Columbus GA to Killeen Tx and I can still get 509 miles per gas tank which breaks down to 16.9 mpg. I'm confident this SUV can make it anywhere in the country without any problems, last year I drove it from Utah to Georgia as comfortable as it's meant to be with 3 kids in the back screaming they need to pee every 20 miles or so :). I'm in the military so I have access to the mechanics shop on post, I regularly take my cars there to do routine maintenance, the car currently has 174,000 miles but runs great and transmission shifts smoothly, both engine and tranny have had all the maintenance done to go for another 100k miles without a major problem. Within the last year I've -

-Maintenance the rear end ($200)
-changed the original spark plugs and wires ($60)
-Added 22" wheels and tires ($1,700)
-New water pump and thermostat (this spring) ($140)
-tinted windows (maybe to dark in some states) ($200)
-recharge air conditioner (professionally of course, blows ice cold) ($100)
-installed a new stereo ($250)

I really don't want to sell it, I know it's a great running car and since we don't owe anything on it it's just savings us more money each month. The car doesn't leak anything at all, come to think of it I think it's been the only vehicle that hasn't left a oil stain in my garage. Anyone who buys it can be confident they can drive this home without any issues. The next oil change it due in 2,000 miles. All the windows work as well as the rear A/C unit. I don't want to sell it but my wife deserves a new ride she's been patient. My reserve is about $1,700 below market value, since I'm not a dealer I'm not trying to squeeze every cent out of this car for a profit, all I'm looking for is a fair price so I can put it down on another car for her. If you have any question please feel free to contact me directly on my cell at 801-390-3030. If you're interested text me and I'll send a video of the engine running and one of a test drive.

$500 deposit due 24hours after auction ends and full payment made no later than 7 days after that. Thanks for viewing and Happy Bidding!!!

GM tells owners not to use SUV wipers due to fire risk

Sun, Oct 11 2015

General Motors is recalling 31,685 examples of the 2016 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia because a short circuit in the windshield wiper motor can potentially lead to a fire. Due to the danger, the company is asking owners not to use the wipers until the problem is fixed, according to The Detroit Free Press citing the Associated Press. A manufacturing defect in the wiper motor cover means that the electrical terminals can come into contact and cause a short. The part could "melt, smoke, or catch fire," according to a statement from GM. The company will get them fixed immediately, and dealers will replace the cover. If there's bad weather at the time the owner specifies to get the recall work completed, the automaker will come pick up the crossovers. Depending on parts availability, the automaker will supply a rental car for customers, as well. The issue was discovered at the factory. According to the company's statement, only 6,405 actually made it to customers, and they were notified immediately by overnight letter. The rest were in dealer stock. The affected crossovers carry build dates between August 18, 2015 and September 24, 2015. Of those, there are 29,295 in the US and 1,073 in Canada. GM Statement: General Motors has told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that it will recall approximately 29,295 2016 model year Chevrolet Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia SUVs in the U.S. because the front windshield wiper motor may overheat when in use because of a manufacturing defect. In some cases, the front windshield wiper motor cover may melt, smoke or catch fire. The approximately 6,405 customers who have taken delivery of these vehicles were notified by overnight letter and are urged to contact a GM dealer as soon as possible to arrange a service appointment. These customers should not use the front windshield wipers until they have been repaired. If weather conditions prevent driving the vehicle without using the windshield wipers, GM will arrange to pick up the vehicle for servicing. If repair parts are unavailable, GM will provide a rental car at no cost until parts become available. The total population, including Canada, Mexico and exports, is approximately 31,685. About 25,280 of these vehicles are in dealer stock and will not be sold until repairs are made.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
