1972 K10 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4 Survivor on 2040-cars
Reno, Nevada, United States
1972 K10 Suburban 4WD. Probably the most original surviving low mileage suburban you will find. Original 81,000 mile four wheel drive. This truck was owned by older gentleman who passed away. Truck is uncut, not lifted, all stock except steering wheel. Column is correct just needs paint. Original motor, transmission etc. Truck has been repainted sometime in it's life. Brand new BF Goodrich a/t tires as the old tire still had 90% of the tread left but were from 1982. Larger aftermarket gas tank, and still has the original suburban chrome gas cap. Just a great surviving 4x4. Huge CB/ radio with large speaker, but metal for radio uncut. Photos tell most of the story. No rust great Arizona truck. Does have holes in hood where hood ornament was, and a plugged hole on drivers side front panel where a large whip antenna must have been.
Very hard to find truck. Located in Reno Nevada. Please only bid if you have the means to pay. Full payment required within 4 days of end of auction. Email me with any questions you may have. |

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
Motor Trend wheels the 2015 Corvette Z06
Tue, Nov 25 2014The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is capable of some absolutely wild metrics. Want proof? Carlos Lago from Motor Trend is here to break it all down. 60 miles per hour? 3.2 seconds. 60 to 0? 91 feet. Lateral acceleration? A staggering 1.16g, a figure that is the highest MT has ever recorded for a vehicle that isn't a race car. It's an utterly astonishing piece of work, this Z06, and just when you think it can't possibly get any more impressive, Randy Pobst hustles an auto-equipped Z06 around Road Atlanta in just 1:30. Aside from the eight-speed auto, Pobst's Z06 had the most aggressive aerodynamic package, the so-called Stage III. Take a look at the 650-horsepower Z06 in Motor Trend's latest video.
