2012 Chevrolet Sonic LT -- Silver Ice Metallic color. Very good condition, low miles. Great gas mileage! Good options list. Lots of life left in tires, brakes, etc. Runs great, a fun car.

Engine is 1.8L 4cyl with 6spd automatic transmission. EPA estimated 25mpg city / 35mpg highway. Features 15-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, a four-way adjustable driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 60/40-split rear seat, a trip computer, and OnStar. This vehicle also has the optional six-speaker sound system with a CD/MP3 player and satellite radio and auxiliary audio jack, as well as heated side mirrors, full power accessories and upgraded upholstery (over base LS trim). Five star crash test rating; rated "top safety pick" by IIHS.

Please read the attached vehicle report. The title is clean and clear (not salvage or reconstructed or any other designation), and shows mileage of 21,125, which is correct (as shown in the Odometer section of the vehicle history report). Next to the mileage is a note "Not Actual". This is because it was subject to a mechanics lien; after an accident (relatively minor, its all straight, and repaired) the shop was granted title to the vehicle after the insurance company paid the claim. Previous owner had a policy that entitled her to a new car (one model year newer) and she took it. I'm selling the car on behalf of the shop that repaired and owns the car. New owner should be able to remove the "Not Actual" note on their new title when they get a new title on the car by taking proof of actual mileage to their DMV. I've confirmed this with Pennsylvania Dept of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Please check with your state if you're not in PA. I currently have the title, with the car, in Harrisburg PA. Please ask any other questions.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises. You can check out the full press release below. You can also read the full study on the Consumer Reports site, or scroll down for a short video recap.

2016 Chevy Volt to make auto show debut this season

Wed, Jul 30 2014

Ever since we saw that spy shots of the 2016 Chevy Volt, we've been hungering for more information on the next-gen version of GM's green halo car. It appears we might not have long to wait, at least for an official tease. An inside source that wishes to remain anonymous told AutoblogGreen that GM will make two announcements regarding the second-gen Volt at the CAR Management Briefing Seminars in Traverse City, MI next week. The first, and most intriguing, is that that we will get our first glimpse of the new Volt at some point during the upcoming auto show season. That means either Los Angeles later this year or else Detroit, Chicago or New York in early 2015. The second bit of news is that GM will be moving production of the electric motors from Mexico to Michigan. Details and official confirmation are, of course, missing and Chevrolet declined comment to AutoblogGreen. We should know more next week.
