RARE 2006 Silverado 3500 Crew Cab DRW 4x4 LBZ Set up to Tow !!
Bullet Proof pre emissions LBZ and 6 speed Allison set up to pull with ultimate reliability and comfort, truck is ready to start making money today! CALL WITH OFFERS OR QUESTION 530 FIVE NINE ONE 7001 DELIVERY AVAILABLE!! This is my 2006 LBZ crew cab Duramax Silverado dually. LT, full option truck, only option it does not have is the fold down rear entertainment center. It does have the sunroof option! Heated leather seats, power adjustable, auto HVAC, 6 CD premium Bose system with XM. I am the second owner since 93,000 miles, it has a great history, has not been beat on or hot rodded, it is set up to be an efficient and reliable tow vehicle and would be great for pulling a 5th wheel, hauling cars, trailers, hotshot work, whatever you want to do with it, it is ready to start making money right now, you can drive it anywhere! It gets 20-21 mpg empty at 60mph, and about 12-13.5 mpg pulling an enclosed 40ft gooseneck at about 14,000lbs. I have full records, a list of all mods I have performed on it and oil samples going back to 120,000 miles...you will not find another Duramax with such a detailed maintenance history, especially the oil samples! Pre-Emissions LBZ, but built in 2006 so it has the newer updated riveted head gaskets from the factory. (3/06 build date) Original Injectors and CP3 (excellent injector balance rates!!) EGR has been blocked since 95,000 miles, PCV re-routed at same time. I used this LBZ to pull a 40ft enclosed gooseneck across the country, it has spent most of its life at 59mph, 5th gear 1800 RPM, and it performed flawlessly with zero breakdowns. I am reluctantly selling it because I bought a Diesel Pusher RV to pull a new trailer so the truck needs a new home. It has been setup to pull with a number of great mods, it is reliable, efficient and cost effective to run. It has an excellent service history with pretty much all work performed by myself or my ASE mechanic brother who did some of the bigger jobs on it. I have a full history of oil samples from Blackstone Labs and it shows a great engine with very low wear metals. I run full synthetics front to back. Truck has approximately 292,500 miles, mileage will go up slightly but I am no longer using it for towing work. There are numerous LBZ's with over 500,000 miles on the road, they are the best ones GM made and with good care and maintenance this truck will go another 2-300,000 miles easily! Truck has been based in Northern Nevada its entire life so little to no rust or corrosion, only light surface rust on frame and drive shaft etc. Chassis and body is on great shape! Truck has NEVER had a big tune in it, NEVER beat on, transmission has NEVER been limped, NEVER a P-0087 code or other fuel related issue! IT IS SOLID! MODS: EFI live with DSP 5 switch (Duramax Tuner LBZ tunes, using a mild economy tune) FASS Lift pump and filter setup MBRP Turbo down pipe, and full Diamond Eye exhaust with quite tone pipe from down pipe to muffler (appears stock and only slightly louder) PPE fuel valve EGR Block Billet filter head bleed screw Billet fuel head spacer kit WIF wrench EDGE Tuner (used only as gauges now) with EGT probe PCV re-route with kit Power Steering cooler Transgo Jr shift kit (installed around 120k miles) Merchant Auto Pump Rub kit for transfer case Eagle Alloys wheels (factory steel inside rear duals) Mag Hytec Rear differential cover KYB shocks all around (recently new) Firestone rear airbags with wireless remote and plumbed to air ride gooseneck hitch Cody Cushion Air ride Gooseneck hitch, with remote air adjustable ($500) B&W Turnover ball hitch 90 gallon RDS Aluminum in bed fuel tank with electric pump transfer to main tank Removeable winter front Locking GM gas cap Tekonsha Prodigy P3 brake controller. LED steering wheel control lights 1500 series lower air dam (fuel economy) Air tabs on rear roof (fuel economy) 35% tint on front sides, 5% tint on sunroof, rear sides and back window. Mobil 1 synthetic Fluids front to back. SPARE PARTS: New rebuilt fuel filter head New AC Delco Fuel Filter New Fram Air Filter New Allison transmission filter New in box EBC front brake rotors Good used spare tire I bought the truck in April 2011 from the original owner, a retired fireman who occasionally used it to pull his horse trailer, it never saw any abuse, never had a tuner or any other mods, it had regular maintenance and was in good shape, most wear to the exterior and interior was from first owner, I am very careful with my vehicles and you can see with the condition of this truck with the miles it has. It has seen more than regular maintenance with lots of little things that usually get overlooked, power steering fluid flushes, regular Dex Cool drains and refills, trued and balanced drive shaft with newer U joints, Transynd synthetic ATF in the Allison etc etc etc. In the last month it has received two brand new front tires (BFG Commercial TA's, have been getting over 100K miles on a set!) two brand new Duralast gold batteries with 3 year replacement warranty. The truck shows wear, but is in nice shape, no accidents and clean car fax history with 2 owners (may show more do to family transfer) Clean title, current tags to July 15 and full insurance. Main cosmetic issues are drivers door ding, damage to rear tail gate (fully functional just dented), wear in bed, front bed cross section is broken where tank rests against it and it should probably be fixed but is ok as is. Lots of rock chips along the front, swirl marked paint and some larger paint chips, mainly around bed area. The front windshield is original and pretty badly pitted and has a large crack, it is due to be replaced. Minor wear on interior, everything works, all heated seats, HVAC, steering wheel controls, 6 CD player ( has XM sub for another 4 months!!) and all other features and lights work as they should! 4x4 works flawlessly and saw next to no use. Rear tires are at about 50%, fronts are brand new. Batteries new, its ready for an oil change and FASS filter change. Transynd was fresh about 30,000 miles ago, same with all other fluids. Parts replaced or major maintenance: New brakes all the way around, with OEM Delco Durastop parts around 50,000 miles ago. Newer OEM alternator Newer OEM starter Recent OEM Delco Blue Donaldson air filter (the good one) Front wheel bearings always greased (via ABS sensor port) Synthetic grease in front end and drive-shaft Newer idler bearings and pulleys Consistent fluid changes, filter changes, oil samples and dex cool flushes. Newer KYB shocks all around. Belt and hoses all changed with OEM. Newer fuel filter head assembly ISSUES: The bed has a few cracks where the in bed tank bolts to it, not a complicated fix, and not major but worth pointing out. Front end will probably need some work in the near future, ball joints, idler arm, alignment, etc etc, it is original except for one tire rod and steering stabilizer which are fairly recent. Windshield is cracked and should be replaced. Antenna is removed and missing, I listened to XM exclusively. Running steps also have been removed and I no longer have them. Tailgate damaged from previous owner, bent, dented, but works fine. Door ding on drivers side. Various small scuffs, scratches and swirl marks, some pitting in drivers outside mirror and rear window. Overall this is a very solid LBZ Dually. It has taken me back and forth the lower 48 over 30 times, never a breakdown or major failure. There are a lot of photos here and I will try and also post photos of the maintenance logs and oil sample reports and well as injector balance rates. PLEASE do not hesitate to ask any questions, I will answer everything I can 100%. I know the truck very well. It is not perfect, but is setup very well to pull, will make someone a great reliable work truck that still looks good! PLEASE CALL WITH ANY QUESTIONS!!! FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME OR I WILL DELIVER FOR $1 a mile and plane ticket home ANYWHERE! 530 FIVE NINE ONE 7001

Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans
Thu, Apr 30 2020Impala SS vs. Marauder — it was comparo that only really happened in theory. ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. We ran an unscientific Twitter poll that generated 851 votes, 63.9 percent of which backed the Impala. Muscle sedans, take your pick: — Greg Migliore (@GregMigliore) April 14, 2020 Then and now enthusiasts felt the Impala was a more complete execution with guts. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.
Here are all the cars GM is axing as part of its restructuring
Tue, Nov 27 2018GM plans to kill off a couple of great and a few meh cars as part of its restructuring. Here's a rundown of all the cars being phased out of production. None of the vehicles GM axed were SUVs or crossovers. Instead, it was an action reminiscent of what Ford recently decided to do by discontinuing U.S. sales every Blue Oval sedan. GM just didn't explicitly say, "We're killing our cars," like Ford did — probably a smart move by GM. Keep scrolling down to see the full list of deceased GM models. Chevrolet Volt This one was the most surprising of all the cars GM decided to can, primarily because cars with plugs are supposed to be our future. However, maybe consumer demand just isn't quite there yet for a plug-in like the Volt. We came up with all sorts of ideas for what was to blame for the untimely demise of the Volt, so go check that out for a full breakdown of the situation. Cadillac CT6 Here's another car we'll be sad to see go. Cadillac's flagship sedan was such a joy to drive, and it served as the conduit to deliver GM's semi-autonomous Super Cruise system, which still hasn't been surpassed by any other company's technology in our books, even Tesla's Autopilot. That being said, GM does plan to produce the CT6 until March, with the last cars coming off the line set to be twin-turbo V8 V-Series models. If it's going to go, this seems like a pretty great way to make an exit. We'll be patiently awaiting the next flagship Cadillac once this one finally fades away. Chevrolet Impala The Impala is actually a pretty good car. It doesn't sell terribly, and we think it's a completely satisfactory car to drive. However, people would rather have a Traverse or Equinox these days, making the Impala one of the vehicles to find itself on this list. Chevrolet is keeping its smaller brother, the Malibu, but a big, full-size sedan just isn't what people are ordering up these days. It's unfortunate to see it go, but we won't be broken up over it. Chevrolet Cruze We wouldn't rank the Cruze at the top of the compact car class, but if you were looking for a small, cheap American car, it was either this or the Focus. The Cruze had the potential to be a true small performance car if Chevy had ever wanted to make it into one. But sadly, we're seeing it bow out before Chevy ever tried to slot a hot engine and suspension in there to make it competitive with other hot hatches. A Cruze SS would have made enthusiasts take notice.
GM files to trademark name Badlands
Mon, Feb 23 2015If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon.
