2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Lt Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 6.6l on 2040-cars
Ottawa, Illinois, United States
Up for sale is a 2006 Chevrolet Crew Cab 4x4 Dually. THIS TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN PROGRAMMED OR UPGRADED...COMPLETELY STOCK LIKE OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR. It has every available option, the truck runs excellent with no issues and has been freshly serviced. The truck was originally purchased in Florida and spent its time between Florida and Arizona as a pleasure vehicle. The condition of the body and frame is pretty close to factory because of it spending it's life in a rust-free environment. You have to see it to believe how nice the underside is, frame suspension etc. The body is rust-free as mentioned but does have a couple minor scratches here and there, you have to get right up within a foot or so to actually see them. The paint and body is in excellent shape with a few minor changes to make the truck look even better. The chrome door handle surrounds etc. The interior is in very great shape, including no rips tears or repairs... no do not expect new, but the leather and upholstery is in above average condition for the year. The truck has all the items you would expect for FULLY LOADED...DVD player, Bose system. ON-STAR, CD-changer, heated power seats, steering wheel controls etc...The engine and transmission speak for themselves...this has the LBZ Diesel Duramax motor in it... this is one of the most sought after motors because of the more horsepower right out of the factory, and especially since this truck has not been hotrodded at all... which makes this truck even more attractive. Of course the SIX speed ALLISON is the only transmission to have, they have proven themselves over and over for performance and reliability. Everything is tight on this truck, and starts- steers- stops & performs excellent. The truck just a couple months ago had 6 brand new tires put on, I put on the 235 85 r16's These tires sport a 50,000 mile warranty (depending on how heavy your right foot is) and have a good traction rating on them. I replaced the wimpy 215 85 r16's with these because of taste & personal experience with 235 85 r16's on my other dually. I did raise up the front suspension around an inch to make the truck have a nice stance to it. The chevy's always have the 2wd look from the factory and I don't see any benefit to having the truck that low in the front. I just put on a fresh coat of bedliner in the box , to protect the bed from whatever you throw at it. The previous owner put in a fifth wheel to pull his camper which he did leave the rails in. Yes I do believe this is an awesome truck. You are buying a very nice truck. I HAVE CLEAR TITLE IN MY NAME IN MY HAND. Unfortunately I am selling it...only because of a planned home addition is going to cost more than expected....and I already have an another dependable dually...thus my "nice toy dually" has to go. I have a 2000 ford 7.3 diesel 4x4 crew cab that i will probably never get rid of... So I am selling the Chevy. You can call with questions up to 8:45pm CST 815343 eight seven five one (Cell) be patient for a call back if you leave a message. or email me mixabilly@ hotmail . com Be patient for return emails also. I can send you more pictures also. Now for the other stuff... 500 due at auction close. You have two choices to pay for the rest of the truck You can bring AMERICAN legit cash... and I will check every bill... You can have your bank wire/ach to my bank...and you will wait to pick up the truck and title until my bank states it is free to release I will only let the truck sit here for a few weeks otherwise you get negative feedback and i relist the truck. Dont waste my time with other offers to pay me price plus shipping... scam someone else NO warranty expressed or implied I WILL ONLY CONSIDER OFFERS IN PERSON AFTER YOU HAVE LOOKED AT IT. DON'T WASTE MY TIME BY LOW-BALL OFFERS EITHER... I KNOW WHAT THESE TRUCKS BRING AND I AM NOT DESPARATE TO SELL... |

These are the 'Greenest' and 'Meanest' cars in 2015
Fri, Feb 6 2015As has become tradition, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) has come up with a ranking of what it refers to as the "greenest" cars of 2015, and, by way of contrast, a list of the so-called "meanest" cars, so those who value eco-friendliness over all else can choose which vehicles they should or should not consider buying. As you may expect, electric cars make up the majority of the greenest cars on the list, but, perhaps surprisingly to many, the Tesla Model S didn't make the cut. It's worth noting, too, that where the electricity an owner uses to charge their electric vehicle has a big impact on its overall environmental impact. "A car that is charged using electricity generated from natural gas or renewables is going to have significantly less impact on the environment than one charged on a coal-heavy grid," says ACEEE lead vehicle analyst Shruti Vaidyanathan. The ACEEE's list for 2015 looks very different than it did in 2014. It's an interesting collection, though – and we're sure this goes without saying, really – we'd recommend doing a bit more research into each vehicle and how it might fit into your daily life before making any purchase decisions. Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
