(NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!) VEHICLE NOTES:
Vehicle has its original 454 that is outfitted with a custom fit Banks exhaust system with an X pipe and cold air K&N filter intake. A catalytic converter will need to be added if you are moving the vehicle to a state that requires emissions (engine light is on currently due to emissions removal, will go out when re-installed). Rear seal on crank Shaft has a slight oil leak. This era Chevy 454 uses oil, and they always have. With that and the crank seal leak it is currently using about half a quart of oil (plus or minus) between oil changes (3500 miles) so the repair is by no means needed ASAP. Tires are okay with about 50% (plus or minus) of their tread life left. The truck will require a final front wheel alignment (preliminary already done) due to suspension modifications (the drop kit that was installed). Cruise control is currently not functioning (not sure why, never really cared). The A/C works and blows cold air, but has to be charged seasonally (I do it myself with a simple can of recharge from the local auto parts store, takes about five minutes.) Truck fires right up and drives very good (See Video Link Below) and gauges and instruments all work. (See List Above)
The driver's seat has cracking on the left side under the custom covers. The passenger seat and rear seats are very good. Windshield will need to be replaced. Overall condition of this vehicle is good+. It has a tow package (with actuator), plus an additional tow package for both fifth wheel and goose neck (bolted through the bed to the frame - 25K capacity). (Goose neck hitch is included with purchase of vehicle.) Vehicle can still tow fine even with the drop kit. I used this truck to haul horses, that's it. No heavy loads like RVs, but I am not the originally owner so I cannot say what it was used for before I bought it. Paint overall is in good condition, but there are some flaws on the rear fenders. Duallys have a tendency to throw rocks up from the tires and hit the inner fenders. That's just the way it is with duallys of this era (no inner fender protection). The paint is not chipped or missing, but spidered. This is a solid truck that you can drive right now without any worries. I don't care where in the country you live, you can drive this truck home as is, if you so choose. Does it have issues? Yes of course it does, it is almost twenty years old. I have listed the issues that I would like to know about if I was buying a vehicle. However, you can ask me any questions and I will answer them. I am an honest seller and have nothing to hide, but cannot pretend to know everything. If I do not disclose something it is because I am not aware of it - period. If, I do know something about this truck, then so will you. Contact me by “asking seller a question”. There is no reason you should not be completely happy with your purchase, just ask. I have taken care of this vehicle while I have been the owner and I am selling it because I bought a newer one and have no use for two duallys. I have tried to describe this vehicle to
the best of my ability, but each person's opinions can and do vary, so please
ask questions. I have linked below to a video of the truck starting
and running. The title is clean and clear.
I'm happy to assist with shipping logistics if needed. More pictures and a video of the truck starting and running posted at the links below.

Chevy rolls out Silverado HD High Country
Wed, 09 Apr 2014It's been a good week for heavy-duty truck buyers. First, Ram revealed the Black Package for its HD trucks, then it rolled out its new Power Wagon, and now Chevy's getting in on the action with its Silverado High Country HD. Okay, so it may not pack quite the attitude of Ram's latest 2500-series offerings, but the High Country HD will come as a welcome addition to the Chevy Trucks range to those looking to pull their horse, boat or other trailer without skimping on creature comforts.
Rolled out a little under a year ago, the High Country trim is Chevy's answer to the likes of the GMC Denali, Ford King Ranch and Ram Longhorn. It has until now only been offered on the light duty, 1500-series Silverado, but now extends to the 2500 and 3500-series HD models, as well.
So what sets a High Country pickup apart from lesser Chevy trucks? You'll be able to pick it out based on its chrome horizontal grille, body-color bumpers, 6-inch tubular side steps, 20-inch chrome wheels (18-inch on the 3500 and 17-inch on the dualie) and, of course, plenty of special badging. But it's inside where the High Country makes its mark, with a cabin decked out in saddle brown perforated leather, seats that are both heated and cooled, eight-inch touchscreen with full MyLink suite, Bose audio and park assist functions front and rear to keep those color-keyed bumpers looking fresh. (Though Chevy hasn't yet showed us the interior of the HD model, it'll presumably look mostly the same as the cab in the 1500 High Country in the gallery below.)
Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain
Sat, Aug 9 2014Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S. Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step
Thu, Feb 2 2017General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet.
