THIS IS MY WIFES PERSONAL TRUCK.  IT HAS BEEN A GOOD TRUCK HOWEVER SHE JUST UPGRADED TO A 2008 MODEL AND NO LONGER NEEDS THIS ONE.  TRUCK HAS MICHELIN TIRES WITH LESS THAN 5,000 MILES ON THEM, THESE TIRES TYPICALLY LAST 70,000-80,000 MILES.  ALSO, IN THE LAST 5,000 MILES IT WENT TO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND HAD AN OIL CHANGE, AIR FILTER, FUEL FILTER, TRANSMISSION SERVICE (DROP THE PAN CHANGE THE FILTER AND ALL FLUID) SO IT WON'T NEED ANY OF THAT AGAIN FOR A WHILE EITHER (EXCEPT AN OIL CHANGE, IT'S DUE NOW).  TRUCK HAD BRAKES INSTALLED AT MIDAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES AGO AS WELL.  IF IT IS SOLD AT OUR BUY IT NOW PRICE WE WILL GO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED AT THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ON US WITH THE SALE.  EVERYTHING ON IT WORKS EXCEPT THE POWER MIRRORS, MIGHT BE A FUSE I HAVE NEVER LOOKED TO SEE WHAT IT IS.

BODY I WOULD RATE A 7.5 OUT OF 10, TYPICAL OF A 13 YEAR OLD TRUCK IT HAS THE NORMAL LITTLE DINGS, A LITTLE BIT OF CLEAR COAT IS PEELING OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BED, NOT BAD, MOST PEOPLE WOULDN'T MENTION IT BUT A 13 YEAR OLD TRUCK IS GOING TO HAVE A FEW DINGS.  ALSO, THEY PRIOR OWNER WE GOT IT FROM WAS AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN WHO HAD AN ELECTRIC WHEELCHAIR LIFT ON THE TRAILER HITCH, THE STRAP CAME OFF THE WHEELCHAIR WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND THAT IS WHAT CHIPPED THE PAINT ON THE TAILGATE, SEE THE PICS, THE METAL END ON THE STRAP IS WHAT WAS HITTING THE TAILGATE WHILE HE RODE DOWN THE ROAD AND HE DIDN'T REALIZE IT RIGHT AWAY.  WE NEVER BOTHERED TO HAVE IT PAINTED, IT ISN'T THAT BAD AND I TOOK SEVERAL PHOTOS TO SHOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.  THE WIRING IS IN THE BED FOR THE WHEELCHAIR LIFT, WASN'T HURTING ANYTHING SO I JUST LEFT IT THERE, I WILL REMOVE IT IF YOU WISH BUT IT MIGHT BE KIND OF HANDY TO HAVE A 12V POWER SOURCE IN THE BED OF THE TRUCK FOR SOMETHING WHICH IS WHY I LEFT IT THERE BUT I NEVER DID ANYTHING WITH IT.

INTERIOR IS IN GOOD SHAPE, NOT NEW, BUT I WOULD GIVE IT AN 8.5 OUT OF 10, SEE THE PICS.  WE RECENTLY PUT HER IN AN AFTERMARKET RADIO WITH BLUETOOTH SO THAT SHE COULD TALK ON THE PHONE HANDS FREE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALSO STREAM MUSIC FROM HER PHONE.  I HAVE THE ORIGINAL RADIO, WE WILL INCLUDE IT WITH THE SALE, OF COURSE BUT I WOULD LEAVE THE ONE THAT'S INSTALLED IN IT ALONE IT'S A MUCH NICER RADIO THAN FACTORY.

ALL THIS BEING SAID, THIS IS A VERY RELIABLE TRUCK, IN DECENT SHAPE AND IS A SOLID BUY FOR THE $$$$, WELL MAINTAINED, WITH AN $800 SET OF TIRES ON IT, AND HAS BEEN IN SC AND HAS NO RUST ANYWHERE, SO, DON'T COMPARE IT TO A RUST BUCKET IN NEW JERSEY WITH CHEAP HALF WORN OUT TIRES AND NO MAINTENANCE RECORDS, YES, THOSE ARE ON HERE FOR $5,000-$6,000, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.  TITLE IS CLEAR AND IN HAND, TRUCK IS PAID FOR.  WE DON'T NEED THE MONEY SO PLEASE DON'T BOTHER WITH LOWBALL OFFERS, WE SIMPLY DESIRE TO GET A FAIR PRICE FOR THE TRUCK.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY THIS ONE AND SPEND MONEY ON IT, MECHANICALLY YOU COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER ONE, ESPECIALLY FOR THIS PRICE SO FACTOR THAT IN WHEN YOU ARE LOOKING AT OTHER TRUCKS ON THE MARKET.  ALSO, FYI, IF SOMEONE TELLS YOU THEY HAVE A 13 YEAR OLD TRUCK THAT IS PERFECT, THEY ARE LYING TO YOU.....THEY ALL HAVE A DING HERE OR THERE OR SOMETHING.....I AM JUST SAVING YOU THE TROUBLE AND TELLING YOU ABOUT THIS ONE.

I WILL MEET YOUR SHIPPER ANYTIME WITH ADVANCE NOTICE, AND WILL ASSIST YOU WITH SHIPPING IF NECESSARY, I AM EXPERIENCED AT DOING SO AS I WAS ONCE IN THE BUSINESS.

ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO EMAIL I WILL RESPOND PROMPTLY.
THANKS

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head

Fri, Jan 30 2015

"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.
