2015 Chevrolet Colorado GearOn Edition is ready to do that outdoorsy thing
Fri, Feb 13 2015Bikes, skis, kayaks... the Chevrolet Colorado GearOn is ready to accommodate all of them, thanks to a trip to the Bowtie's accessories catalog. The special edition Colorado features the basics of Chevy's GearOn accessories, including a bars package, bed divider and tie-down rings, which can be supplemented with other accessories to haul all manner of outdoor equipment. Beyond that, though, Chevy has fitted a few other items to lift up the Colorado's styling, including gloss-black 18-inch wheels, black Bowtie emblems, a body-color grille, off-road assist steps and front foglights. Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.
