Up for bids is a 2001 Chevolet 1500 LS Extended Short Bed Truck in the Summit White Color with Matching AER Camper Shell with a lined bed that all ride on Michelin LTX M/S2 P265/70R16 tires that were bought new 6000 miles ago.

This truck has been well cared for since its purchase in 2006!  It was married to the AER Short Bed Camper shell in the same year!

Its 5.3 liter V8 is very peppy and continues to provide excellent acceleration when in traffic or on the interstate!  It easily cruses at 75-80mph and it is comfortable to drive with its power seats including lumbar seat adjustments and tilt steering wheel!

The truck has always use Mobile 1 for its engine lubrication and also synthetics in the differential!

All systems work well on the truck including cooling, brakes, exhaust, transmission, drive train, rear end differential, shocks and tires!  All systems have been well maintained.

The truck's air conditioning & heater work well and easily cool or heat the entire cab area.  It actually has vents to the rear seating area and does not rely totally on the front vents to cool or heat the rear seating area.

The AER Camper shell is in excellent condition complete with sliding side windows, dual hydraulic rear window pistons that easily hold the rear window open when you are loading/unloading! It comes with dark shaded window tints and has hand constructed curtains!

This 2001 Short Bed Silverado 1500LS has a few minor cosmetic issues!
  • Missing  4" black trim on the driver's side near the rear door
  • Front bumber sags lightly..some connection has broke but by no mean interferes with steering & does not rattle or shake
  • My young grand-daughter decided to draw with a coin on the passenger's side window so some scratches exist on its surface but again does not interfere with vision or function!
  •  I inherited some short back marks on the truck's bed sides but they are very minor!
  • The driver's side outside mirror is missing its chrome front cover but in no way interferes with the driver's view of the rear!
The Interior of the truck is in great condition..Here in Arizona the dash will crack up the intense summer heat so this dash as always been protected with a dash carpet.  The door's are sound with solid sound when shut..they lock well with no issues with the power windows or with adjusting the angle & tilt of the mirrors!

This has been a great truck and has provided years of service for me.  I am only selling it b/c I am leaving the country and it cannot travel with me!
But my lose is your grain..this truck and Its Camper Shell will continue to provide years of service to the next owner!

You have an excellent opportunity to obtain this great condition Chevy Silverado 1500LS and do it for a reasonable price!

Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.

Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names

Tue, Mar 17 2015

Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
