2012 Chevy Silverado Z71 4x4 Crew Cab on 2040-cars
Erie, Colorado, United States
This truck was purchased new in California and has been meticulously maintained. I am a surface care specialist who develops high end products for the automotive detailing industry as a career so the truck has always been treated with only the best products, cleaned weekly (if not more) and protected with the latest surface coatings to retain its factory new finishes.
All scheduled maintenance has been performed and its fresh off a full service including trans and diffs. You will not find a better condition 2012 Z71 anywhere, its never been abused and has been garaged every day since purchase. Shortly after purchase the truck was leveled using TGC's 2.5" front suspension kit so it sits perfectly level and rolls on 33" Nitto Terra Grapplers. The tires have roughly 70% tread life reamaining and have been rotated religiously to maintain even wear. No patches or repairs ever done on these tires. Rides like a factory stock truck, but with a more aggressive stance and better ground clearance. This truck will make an excellent daily driver, work truck, or just something to pull your other toys around with. LT trim with Z71 suspension and appearance packages. The look is more aggressive than most other Silverados of this year thanks to the split front grill, color matched bumpers, fog lamps. All factory badges/stickers were removed along with the door moldings and replaced with GM OE Z71 badges from a Tahoe to give it a unique look that lets people know its not just another Silverado. The interior is in flawless condition, virtually like new. No stains, excessive wear, or damage anywhere on the inside. Windows have been tinted with premium 3M ceramic tint that carries a lifetime warranty. Front bench seating with double capacity center console. Also includes tow and trailering packages with trailer brake controls. Premium factory audio (without navigation) with USB ipod connectivity, bluetooth, onstar, sirius/xm, backup sensors and rear view camera built into the rear view mirror. Keyless entry (2 fobs) and factory remote start. Automatic dual zone digital climate controls for comfort. AC blows ice cold and heater works perfect, even in negative temps here in Colorado. I will also include the weathertech digital fit floor liners for front and rear seats as well as a set of new/unused Lloyd's Luxe custom carpeted mats for the spring and summer. These are the most expensive custom carpets you can buy and feature a silver embroidered bowtie in the center section of the front mat. Bed has the weathertech bed and tailgate liner installed. Non-slip and perfect for protecting the bottom of the bed when you need to carry a load. To the buyer also goes a full collection of detailing and car care products to keep this truck looking as good as it does now, valued at $300+ Truck still carries the original factory warranty (100k mile powertrain, 3 year 36k mile bumper to bumper) Additional pictures of any surface of the truck available upon request. Should transport be necessary arrangement of shipment is 100% the responsibility of the buyer. A $500 non-refundable deposit will be due within 24 hours of the close of auction and full payment must be received withing 72 hours. Failure to provide deposit and payment on time will result in cancellation of the auction and the next highest bidder will have the opportunity to purchase the truck. |

Body shop manager stole over $500,000 worth of government trucks and parts
Fri, Jan 27 2017The US Department of Justice announced yesterday that the manager of a collision and restoration business in Virginia admitted he helped misappropriate and sell vehicles and parts from the State Department. Specifically, he sold 12 Chevrolet Suburbans, a Hummer, and $7,500 worth of tires and wheels. He pled guilty to charges to commit theft of government property and wire fraud. He will likely see 18 to 20 months in prison, a fine of $4,000 to $40,000, and has already agreed to pay restitution of $416,020 and asset forfeiture of the same amount. According to the Department of Justice, the body shop manager, James Ratcliffe, worked with the owner of the business and a State Department official, both unnamed, to obtain the property. It started with the wheels and tires, which were delivered and sold on two occasions, one in 2011 and another in 2012. The trucks came later, and were sold throughout 2011 and 2013. Ratcliffe and the shop owner kept most of the profits, and shared some of the leftovers with the government official. In addition to the vehicles that were sold, the government official also gave Ratcliffe a pair of Suburbans for his own personal use. The Department of Justice estimated the total value of the SUVs at $96,400. In total, the group misappropriated $512,420 worth of property. Related Video:
GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient. View this post on Instagram A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version. Hot Wheels Camaro to make big debut at Indy
Fri, 05 Apr 2013Chevrolet handed over the keys to 33 Hot Wheels Camaro Convertible Indianapolis 500 festival cars this week. Race directors get the luxury of driving the droptops around Indianapolis in an ongoing tradition with roots all the way back to the 1960s. The stunt is supposed to remind area residents that the Indy 500 is right around the corner. The cars are our first look at the special Camaro Hot Wheels Edition in convertible form, and they are slated to head to dealers after a one-time production run. The cars also represent the first time in history full-size Hot Wheels have been offered for sale by an automaker.
The cars will be available in both the previously seen coupe bodystyle and this convertible configuration, and will feature metallic blue paint and special wheels with the iconic redline accent. Buyers will be able to choose between the V6-powered 2LT trim and the V8-powered 2SS guise.
Hot Wheels says the original Custom Camaro toy was one of the original 16 1:64-scale diecasts, and it remains one of the company's most valuable collector items today.
