2007 Mustang Shelby Gt/sc Coupe White/tan 550 Hp Box Stock on 2040-cars
Reading, Pennsylvania, United States
550 HP. Genuine factory supercharged Shelby GT/SC Not GT500 Not GT350. Garage kept. Box stock - no mods. Driven respectfully by retired older person. Made in Las Vegas at the Shelby Headquarters the Shelby GT/SC includes a 550 HP Whipple supercharger with liquid intercooler and brake upgrade, along with other Shelby engine, drivetrain and suspension modifications. Genuine Shelby 6 piston Extreme front brakes were also added. At around 3500 lbs and 550 HP, and with a track suspension. This white with silver stripes beauty has a very rare tan interior. It is a garage queen and is only taken out for drives on occasion. This is basically a track car that is street-able. Very quick with superb handling, but can be used as a daily driver. Not a ding or scratch to be found. Interior is perfectly flawless. Do your research on what a Shelby GT/SC is and you will have to see this car. I understand there are only about 100 of these in existence, and this is one of a very few with a tan interior. 18" x 9.5" Shelby SVT wheels were fitted to account for the huge brakes. These are fitted with 255 and 285 section tires. It stops as well as it goes. And it corners faster than you want to go. Compare this to a newer GT350 that will cost $70K or more. Principals only please - no dealers or advertisers. No joy rides. email dennisarner@yahoo.com for more info, A/C ice cold, All scheduled maintenance, Always garaged, Excellent condition, Looks & drives great, Must see, No accidents, Non-smoker, Seats like new, Title in hand, Very clean interior, Well maintained. Original wheels, tires and brakes are included. I was surprised to see "Accident" listed in the AutoCheck report! Not the case. When the new brakes were installed but brake lines not properly tightened, some fluid got on the rocker panels and side scoops that would not easily clean off.. This was covered by my mechanics insurance company. If you get serious I can give you my mechanic's name and number for confirmation of this. There were no accidents. Car is perfect. I will sell this car to anywhere in the world. Guaranteed payment will be made before shipment is considered. Checkout my 100% feedback for over 15 years on EBay. I have received some questions about the pics. If you see Shelby GT on the side stripes and stock wheels those are before the car was sent to the Shelby Shop for the SC upgrade. With Shelby GT/SC stripes and stock wheels, are after the upgrade, and with the larger SVT wheels are after the 6 piston brakes were fitted, these were needed to clear the large brakes. The upgrade was done in 2012 when the car had approximately 7000 miles. Again - original wheels tires and brakes are sitting in my garage and are included in the purchase.

What we know, and think we know, about the 2016 Chevy Volt
Wed, Aug 13 2014With the next-gen Chevy Volt due to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show early next year, bits and pieces about the new car are making their way into the press. Perhaps most importantly, the new Volt is going to have better "fuel economy and efficiency," according to GM executive vice president Mark Reuss. The current Volt gets 98 MPGe and 37 miles per gallon on premium fuel. It also has a 38-mile electric-only range. We don't know how GM will improve the efficiency or to what degree, but the logical options include making the car lighter, giving it better aerodynamics and/or improving the powertrain. To that end, one of the big things we don't know for sure includes information on the new gas-powered engine. Forbes says it will be a downsized 1.0-liter, three-cylinder mill instead of the 1.4-liter, four-cylinder used in the current model, which could certainly help the car be more efficient. The new Volt is also going to have more technology, which shouldn't surprise anyone. GM is now openly talking about how it will change the way it markets the Volt, shifting away from the mass-market mentality to focus on the regions where the car is already popular. "There's a Northeast and West Coast market for Volt, and there's nothing wrong with that," Chevy chief marketing officer Tim Mahoney told Forbes. There are rumors that the new Volt will have seating for five by adding a seat in the back. This is something a lot of current Volt owners would love, but we've heard nothing official hinting that this would be the case. We expect the battery to be the new 17.1-kWh version, or maybe even have a capacity increase, so GM would have to seriously repackage the pack to eliminate the ridge that runs from between the front seats and then back to the rear two seats. If you've heard anything official, do let us know.
Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
GM veteran Bryan Nesbitt tapped to head Buick design
Sat, Jun 6 2015General Motors styling veteran Bryan Nesbitt (pictured above) took over a new role on Monday as executive director of global Buick design and global architectures. Andrew Smith, who previously did that job and also coordinated the look for Cadillac, has remained in charge of the pen at Caddy with this shift. Nesbitt rose to prominence when he designed the Chrysler PT Cruiser, according to Automotive News. He joined GM in 2001 and has been there ever since in multiple high-level roles. In 2007, he was appointed vice president of design for North America and was later briefly general manager of Cadillac in 2009-2010. Nesbitt took over as the vice president of GM's international operations design in China in 2011. This shuffle also moves Ken Parkinson, currently styling boss for Chevrolet trucks, to China as design vice president there. In addition, John Cafaro becomes the person in charge of the look for Chevy globally, rather than previously splitting that role between cars and trucks with Parkinson. GM Global Design Leadership Changes – effective June 1, 2015. Bryan Nesbitt, Design Vice President, GM China will repatriate to North America and assume the position of Executive Director, Global Buick and Global Architectures. He will be located in Warren, MI. Ken Parkinson, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Trucks and Global Architecture will assume the position of Design Vice President, GM China. He will be based in Shanghai, China. Andrew Smith, Executive Director, Global Cadillac and Buick Design will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Cadillac. He will continue to be the design Champion for the Cadillac brand. In addition, he will continue to lead the Global Color & Trim team. He will be based in Warren, Michigan. John Cafaro, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Cars will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Chevrolet. He will be the design Champion for Chevrolet. In addition, John will lead the exterior components and accessories team. He will continue to be based in Warren, MI. The roles and responsibilities of Helen Emsley, Mark Adams, Carlos Barba, Clay Dean, Michael Simcoe, and Teckla Rhoades remain the same.
