Up for sale is my 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT1 Extended Cab 4WD with the 5.3L V8 putting out 295HP. I bought this truck two years ago from a guy in Arkansas who needed a larger vehicle for his family. He did all the work to it that you see in the pictures. It's got a 2" block lift in the rear and 3" in the front since these trucks are know to have a bit of rake to their stance. He rerouted the exhaust so it comes out just behind passenger side rear tire. As far as modified exhaust systems go, this is one is very modest. With the power of the V8 it sounds amazing, but it's definitely not a "dual exhaust" type of sound. He also installed four (4) KC 4000K HID lights, which aren't fully hooked up, but I never had any desire to use them. Two are mounted to the Bull Guard. Another great feature of this truck is the Leather Power Bucket Seats from the SS model installed in the front. He had back surgery and really needed the lumbar support the leather seats offered. The black tail light covers look great in my opinion. Truck also has K&N Air Filter and Optima Battery. 6 Disc CD changer. Upgraded speakers in front and rear. Running boards.

Since then I've changed the oil regularly and taken extremely good care of it. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The exterior is in amazing condition with very minimal scratches. The worst of it is shown in one of the pictures and it's right where the tailgate can be removed so it's hard to notice. There are two small rips in the driver seat, but they've hardly gotten bigger since I've owned it. The interior is also in very nice shape for a 2006. Headliner is clean with no signs of falling out, carpets are spotless in the front and back. Very small chip at bottom of windshield that has been filled and hasn't expanded since.

I've bought and sold cars, trucks and motorcycles on eBay in the past and have had nothing but positive experiences so my goal is to list this truck as accurately as possible. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to give me a call. Or if you'd like more photos of something specific just let me know and I'd be happy to help.

Slight tint on all 5 (including rear) windows.

This truck is solid as a rock. I've taken it on multiple road trips to California, Montana, Colorado, Texas, Arkansas, all of which were 1500+ miles round trip and it performed perfectly. It didn't flinch at all in the 100 degree heat of Southern Texas. People on eBay always seem to say, "I wouldn't hesitate to take this car anywhere!" Well, I didn't hesitate to take this truck anywhere. You really should feel 100% confident to fly in to Nashville and drive your new vehicle home, wherever that may be.

Just got an oil change yesterday so you won't have to worry about that for a while either.

Also replaced the serpentine belt today since the old one was beginning to crack slightly. The other belt, spark plug and spark plug wires are all good to go as well.

I tried taking pictures of the other scratch on the driver side by the rear door but it honestly wouldn't show up in the photos. Headliner is clean with no signs of tearing or marks, carpets are spotless in the front and back. Very small chip at bottom of windshield that has been filled and hasn't expanded since.

I also have all the service records for all the work done on this truck. It's fully paid for, I have the title in my possession.

2016 Chevy Volt arrives with 50-mile EV range, 41 mpg [w/ video]

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Let's start with the numbers. The 2016 Chevy Volt will have an all-electric range of 50 miles from a new, 18.4-kWh lithium battery. It will get 41 miles per gallon (combined) once the battery runs dry and have 102 MPGe. Oh, and it has five seats, sort of. To compare, today's four-seat 2015 Volt has a 38-mile range from a 17.1-kWh battery in a powertrain that offers 37 mpg and 98 MPGe. So, across the board, there are notable improvements. Now that that's out of the way, let's talk story. General Motors will unveil the new Volt at the Detroit Auto Show later today, but it's been talking about how this new version – the first major plug-in hybrid vehicle to get a serious redo in the modern era – was crafted with reams and reams of data from first-gen Volt customers. At a preview event for journalists last week, GM executive chief engineer Pam Fletcher told Autoblog that these owners "gave us the recipe" to make the second-gen model. At the top of the request list was more range (check), more "fun-to-drive" behavior (check?) and a smoother and quieter experience (we'll assume a check here, given that the new 1.5-liter four-cylinder – the first North American application of this new engine family – should offer more power with less noise than the previous 1.4-liter, four-cylinder powerplant). Other customer-driven changes in the new Volt include a different place to store the charging cable (in the side of the trunk instead of under the load floor) and a new brake system with improved blended regenerative braking feel as well as driver-selectable regen levels. The requested 50-mile range comes from a new, lighter battery that has increased capacity from fewer cells (192 vs. 288) and a simplified control architecture. Along with the new battery, the electric drive unit is a two-motor deal that is up to 12 percent more efficient and 100 pounds lighter, while also being "tremendously smaller," notes Fletcher. It offers 294 pound-feet of torque and a maximum 149 horsepower of "motoring power" delivered to the wheels. GM says it has worked hard to reduced the amount of rare earth materials in these motors, and one of them doesn't use any at all. The new powertrain offers improved acceleration times, as well. The 2016 Volt can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 8.4 seconds, a seven-percent improvement, while the 0-30 mph time has been improved by 19 percent, down to 2.6 seconds. The new Volt is more conventional looking, but certainly not completely ordinary.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.

The Corvette Museum sinkhole has been filled

Wed, Feb 11 2015

After swallowing eight of the most prized pieces of the collection from the National Corvette Museum, the massive sinkhole from a year ago is rapidly becoming nothing but a bad memory. Based on the museum's weekly construction update, you can barely see the remnants of the 25-foot deep hole once in the floor. The Corvette Museum's Skydome was not always going to look like this. The original hope was to keep the sinkhole there as a tourist attraction. That plan eventually fell through, though, and instead it was decided five of the less-damaged Corvettes would remain unrestored. Progress has been moving fast to get the repairs done. Even a month ago, the hole was still very visible, and the construction company used remote-controlled Bobcat loaders to fill it in. Now, the museum has launched a contest to guess how many tons of stone it took to fill in the massive crater. The winner gets a print of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil being lifted out.
