Up for sale is my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado LS regular cab short box.  It currently has 80,805 miles on it. I am the 2nd owner, I bought the truck in 2004 from the original owner, in Witchita Kansas with 35,665 miles on it. I have all the receipts, for all the work done to the truck since day one. The truck has never been driven in the winter and always stored indoors. It has been my summer driver since I purchased it. The truck has, cruise, tilt, cold A/C and has never been smoked in.  The truck drives and rides very nice. Tires on the truck are in great shape and look like new. There is nothing mechanically wrong with the truck. Simply start it and drive it home today!!!

Some of the things that have been done to the truck are as follows:

All the trim has been removed
K&N filter
Billet Grill
2 1/2 inch Exhaust w/ Flowmaster 50 Series muffler
Front of truck lowered (4") w/ 2" dropped spindles and 2" dropped springs.
Rear of truck lowered (6") w/ C-notched frame.  (All lowering components are through Mike Maugaughy Inc.)
Welded on roll pan  (from Sir Michael's)
Re-located tailgate handle to inside of box, smoothed out tailgate.  (from Sir Michael's)
Black vinyl covered bed cover with light.
Line-X bed liner
Hidden trailer hitch behind license plate.
Factory fog lights installed in factory location.
New shocks and tires.
Bug deflector
Tinted windows
Remote start with keyless entry

There are a few rock chips from normal driving, but very minimal, there is a small ding on the passenger side rear corner of the rollpan, but it is down low and very hard to see unless your really looking, and there is a small crack in the windshield that has stayed the same since 2006.

If the winner of the auction is interested,  I have a set of Boyd Coddington 6 spoke 18" wheels, with Nitto, NT255/55/R18 tires with less than 3000 miles on them, that I will sell with the truck for an additional $1500.

Any other questions in regards to the truck, feel free to email me anytime.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.

Looking back on our favorite cars of Mad Men

Tue, Apr 7 2015

The second half of the seventh and final season of Mad Men debuted this week, set to cap a run of public and critical acclaim. A decade's worth of interesting cars also made for good television, if you were paying attention. Vehicles didn't often steal the spotlight from Don, Betty, Roger, Joan and the gang, but they added meaningfully to the tone and beauty of the series. We sorted through the wheeled extras from Mad Men's archives, and choose some of our favorites to highlight. The list consists of cars that had at least a small impact on the plot of an episode, though certainly there are worthy gems hiding in just about every street and driving scene. Check out our subjective top five, and then let us know which of the Mad Men cars would be on your list. 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille – Season 2 Don Draper's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, all 500 feet of it, shows up in a few seasons of the show, but it's the first appearance that sets the tone. A Cadillac salesman, cut from the same cloth as Draper, asks what Don drives right now. "A Dodge," Don admits. "Those are wonderful if you want to get somewhere," allows the salesman, "this is for when you've already arrived." For a man on the move up corporate and social ladders that's a powerful message, and a pitch-perfect car. 1961 Lincoln Continental – Season 3 The most stylish Lincoln Continental ever is perfect set dressing for the mod show, of course. Though it's interesting that the car isn't cast as dapper Draper's ride, but rather his father-in-law's. Grandpa Gene does what all great grandfathers are bound to: lets his granddaughter Sally drive the big Lincoln while he works the pedals. Generational bond secured, in fine fashion. When you go back through the first three seasons of the show, you'll notice that Continentals show up more than once, too. There's nothing quite like them to evoke the best of the early '60s. 1963 John Deere 110 – Season 3 The only non-standard passenger vehicle on the list, no self-respecting gearhead/Mad Men fan should quibble with the inclusion of the John Deere 110 riding mower. For starters, the Deere is lovely to look at; a miniature version of the American Heartland icon in its green and yellow duds. The 110 appears as if milled from a solid block of steel, just the opposite of today's sleek, plasticky lawn minders (we're scouring Craigslist for one to bring home). The John Deere also has dear ramifications to the plot, too.
