1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Ls Extended Cab Pickup 3-door 5.3l on 2040-cars
Knox, Indiana, United States
Up for auction is a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado Z-71 Extended cab 3 door.
This truck has a rebuilt title. That means that the vehicle was involved in an accident and that the insurance company felt that the repair bill would exceed the value of the vehicle. Therefore they sold it at an auction where I purchased it and repaired the damage myself. That being said.... This truck has a 5.3 liter V-8 engine and an automatic O/D transmission. The engine starts right up and runs smooth. This vehicle starts, runs, drives, shifts, turns, and stops exactly as it should. Despite having just under 231K miles, this truck has plenty of power. The transmission shifts perfectly also. This truck also has push button 4 wheel drive. I believe the truck also has a factory towing package as the trailer hitch on the rear appears to be original. The exterior of the vehicle has a very nice shine to it. There are a couple small defects (scratches, dings, etc.) in the paint, but I would say it is in great shape for a 15 year old vehicle. There is NO RUST anywhere on this truck, which is very unusual for one of these trucks. I get compliments everywhere I go with it. I would give it a 9 out of 10. I believe the pictures represent it well. The interior is also very nice. The seats are clean and tear free. There is a small stain on the back seat, but I'm sure it's nothing a good detail job wouldn't take care of. The carpet is also clean, but has stains form normal use. I would give it an 7 out of 10. The pictures represent it well also. There isn't anything that would keep me from driving this truck cross-country tomorrow. We have had it for a little over a year now and it has proven to be a reliable truck. The only thing that I can think of that would need replacing is the tires. They are not bald, but they are worn down to the wear bars. They would be fine to drive it home on and would probably last you the rest of the summer and fall, but I would recommend replacing them before driving in snow. This vehicle is available from now until the end of the auction for inspections and test drives. If you'd like to come and see it in person before bidding, send me a message through ebay and we'll set something up. By bidding, you are entering into a legally binding contract to purchase a vehicle. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Shipping is not being offered on this truck. If you need shipping, feel free to arrange it with a vehicle shipper of your choice. I will do my best to assist your shipper in any way possible, but I will not be responsible for any damages to the vehicle during shipment. The truck is located in Knox, Indiana. The zip code is 46534. If you'd like to fly in and drive the truck home, I'd be happy to pick you up at Midway airport in Chicago, or South Bend Regional airport in South Bend, Indiana as long as you fly in on the weekend. I have a full time job that prevents me from traveling during the week. This vehicle is being offered at NO RESERVE! The winning bider at the end of the auction drives it home. There is a $200 deposit due within 24 hours if the end of the auction via PAYPAL. The remainder of the winning bid is to be paid in CASH at the time of vehicle pickup. Pickup is to be no later than 7 days after the end of the auction. If you are not willing or able to meet any or all of these terms, please don't waste your time or mine by bidding. I am a very honest and straightforward person and if we are to do business, you should be also. Thanks for looking, and Happy Bidding! |

Burt Reynolds' movie re-creations fetch $379,500 in Vegas
Wed, Oct 3 2018The recent death of Hollywood legend and automotive enthusiast Burt Reynolds helped drive up the value of four of his former cars from the 1970s and '80s, which sold last weekend at Barrett-Jackson's Las Vegas auction for a combined $379,500. Reynolds, who died Sept. 6 at age 82, had offered three Pontiac Trans Ams — two of them re-creations of the cars he drove in "Smokey and the Bandit" and "Hooper" and the third from 1984 used to promote his United States Football League team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth was a 1978 Chevrolet R30 pickup truck, styled like the one featured in "Cannonball Run." The "Bandit" re-creation, a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am that Reynolds ordered to be as "movie-correct" as possible but featuring a custom-built 200-4R automatic transmission, sold for $192,500. The car features a freshly built Pontiac 400 cubic-inch V8 mated to a four-speed automatic and featuring all-new Butler Performance parts and air-conditioning components. Reynolds reportedly said this was his favorite car from his films, and it even came with an authentic movie-correct CB radio and CB antenna. The red retro-rocket "Hooper" '78 Firebird, with a 403 cubic-inch V8 and a three-speed automatic, hammered for $88,000. By comparison, a gold 1978 Trans Am also offered at the Las Vegas auction but not connected to Reynolds fetched $27,500. The 1987 Chevy R30 pickup was a re-creation of the Indy Hauler pace truck seen jumping over a moving freight train in "Cannonball Run." It hammered for $49,500. The fourth car never appeared in any of Reynolds' films but is instead the only surviving example of two Trans Ams used to promote the Tampa Bay Bandits of the now-defunct USFL, having been driven out onto the field by Reynolds and his late friend and co-star, Jerry Reed, during opening day one season. It also sold for $49,500. At the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction in 2016, Reynolds accompanied a 1977 Trans Am used to promote "Bandit" onto the auction block. That car sold for $550,000. Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
