1990 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 1500 Silverado package. Clean. Bought as a restoration project. Got most of the mechanical stuff done, was gearing up to do the body and paint when 'life' happened, lol. Too high off the ground for my little woman or my aging dog, and he weighs too much to lift every time, so we got something lower to the ground. It's a daily driver, a good solid runner. It's a fuel injected 350 engine, recently tuned up, automatic transmission which has been serviced in the past 5000 miles, and runs great. Things I have replaced: Radiator Suspension Tie Rods Stabilizer shock 4-corner brakes Muffler and exhaust Differentials (better gear ratio for improved fuel efficiency) BF Goodrich Tires Stereo (needs antenna) 400 Watt Amp (I wanted to put a better fuse housing in) 2 - 10 inch subwoofers WHAT IT NEEDS: Rocker panels and floor pan repair (JC Whitney has the panels, but they're easy enough to make out of old dryer duct metal), 4 WD Hubs (has vacuum ones, but I'd suggest you put the manual hubs on, because they're less apt to develop problems), will need U-joints soon (you have to order ones for a 2500 or 3500 as it's got the HD driveshaft), driver's side window switch is sticking, and AC compressor squeaked so we rerouted the belt. It may just need the pulley, but I'd suggest just replacing the compressor to for what no more than they cost. I'm at work, and don't know the mileage off hand, but will add it as soon as I get home this evening.

GM might outsource vans to AM General
Thu, Nov 26 2015General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. Here's hoping this potential deal will help both GM and AM General keep their factories humming. Related Video:
GM Halts Sale Of Most Chevy Cruze Models
Fri, Mar 28 2014General Motors has told dealers to stop selling some 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze compact cars. But the company won't say why. Dealers say stop-sale orders are routine and almost always made to fix a safety problem. They received the order in an e-mail Thursday, but no reason was given. The move comes as GM deals with fallout from a delayed recall of 1.6 million older small cars to fix an ignition switch problem. The company says the switches can slip out of the run position and shut down the engine. That causes loss of power steering and brakes and disables air bags. GM says the problem has been linked to 31 crashes and at least a dozen deaths. Spokesman Greg Martin says he has no details on the Cruze. Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party.
