Here's an unique opportunity to own a "pre-production" unique pickup produced by Chevrolet from 2003 to 2006. This vehicle was the 15th of 25 SSR's produced prior to vehicle production to introduce the model and to tour around the country at races and special events. #15 toured with the legendary blues singer Taj Majal and was shown at concert venues during the summer of 2003. Unlike several other Signature Series trucks, this is a two owner vehicle and comes with the complete package of memorabilia that was part of this unique group of automobiles. Included in the sale is a brushed stainless steel book detailing the production and history of the unique trucks along with information on the two designers that signed the waterfall between to two seats. Additionally, the book includes memorabilia from the concert tour, tickets and programs from the 2003 Indianapolis 500 (where the truck appeared), Taj Mahal CD's (2), signed tee shirts (2) and hat and the original window sticker. Also, a large graphic "cut out" design depiction of the SSR drive train that has been framed is also included in the sale. Another unique part of the memorabilia is a three ring binder for the original vehicle manual that is unique to the first vehicles produced. Special to the Signature Series is the unique Ultra Violet color, matching air inlet cover on the engine, wood and carpet installed in the truck body and special placarding and seat piping and lettering on the interior. This vehicle has been garage kept and covered since purchase and the mileage indicated was put on the vehicle driving it from Dayton, OH after purchase and to car shows around the country.

GM to restore legendary Corvette damaged in sinkhole accident
Fri, Dec 5 2014Car lover's hearts' sank when they saw images of bent and destroyed classic Corvettes at the bottom of a sinkhole last February after the floor of the National Corvette Museum gave way. General Motors announced Wednesday it would restore the one millionth Corvette ever produced to its former glory. The 1992 convertible was heavily damaged when a 40-foot deep sinkhole opened beneath a bevy of rare cars at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Since then, GM has been slowly restoring the classic cars, though five of the eight that caught in the sinkhole were determined to be too damaged to repair. This November, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil was the first car to be returned in mint condition to the Museum, according to Autoblog. It suffered significant damage but was still drivable after being pulled out of the debris. The one millionth Corvette is still in bad shape. The automaker is estimating six months worth of work to restore the car, which sustained paint scratches, rear-suspension damage and a mangled front fender. These are the five most ridiculous attacks on the Chevy Volt [w/videos]
Thu, Aug 7 2014It's been a long, strange trip for the Chevy Volt from the time when the now-odd-looking concept version (above) was introduced at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to today. And now, General Motors announced that the second-generation Chevy Volt will make an appearance at the 2015 Detroit show in January. This debut represents a victory for GM with what has easily become the most politicized car of the 21st Century. There are plenty of reasons for someone to criticize the Volt, but what's amazing is just how much anti-Volt energy has been spent not on things like the styling or how the EREV setup is not as efficient as a pure-EV powertrain. As we wait for more official information on the new Volt, we thought it would be fun to go back and look at some of the most wildly incorrect reporting and strangest attacks on the Volt from the archives. There is so much good stuff out there, it was hard to pare the list down, but these are our five favorites. Amazingly, they're not all clips from Fox News. Check 'em out below. 5. GM Is Going To Stop Making The Chevy Volt In The US Do you remember when GM was about to move Volt production to China? Well, yeah, this was reported back in early 2012 when a GM executive mentioned that the automaker would get benefits of building the Volt in the places where it sells them. This was spun into a story of GM taking Obama bailout money and then running to China. The Blaze was not happy: "Given the fact that Federal government helped itself to millions and millions of taxpayer dollars under the pretense that it was going to combat high unemployment by creating 'green jobs,' it would seem that moving research and development (and possibly manufacturing) overseas is slightly, well, counterproductive." Well, of course, that never happened. There's no way to say that GM will never build a version of the Volt in China, but the news we hear rumors of these days is that GM is going to move production of more Volt parts (specifically, the motors) to Michigan from overseas. 4. The Chevy Volt Is A Fire Trap There has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. Yes, there were Volts that caught on fire. Yes, that's a scary thing. But there has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. These were crashed test vehicles with destroyed batteries and plugged-in vehicles that were not the cause.
