2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in

You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.

CA Chevy dealer allegedly adds $50K 'market value adjustment' to 2015 Z06

It seems to happen with every eagerly anticipated new car – dealerships, recognizing that crushing demand far outstrips the initial limited supply of a new model, inflate the price via a so-called "market value adjustment." We've seen it in the past with a number of new models, and now it's happening again with one of the Detroit 3's hottest vehicles. A dealership in Roseville, CA, outside of Sacramento, has allegedly attached a staggering $49,995 market value adjustment to a 2015 Corvette Z06. We say allegedly because, despite the evidence uncovered by BoostAddict, John L. Sullivan Chevy's online inventory listing doesn't display the price premium of the Z06 in question, a (normally) $93,965 model with the top-end 3LZ trim. It's unclear if either of the dealer's other Z06s, both 3LZs, one of which is in transit, will receive similar price adjustments. Now, legally, Sullivan Chevy isn't doing anything wrong here. Dealerships are under no obligation to observe a manufacturer's suggested retail price, a point General Motors' spokesperson Ryndee Carney pointed out to Autoblog via email. "For the Corvette Z06, Chevrolet has established a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price we feel is right for the market. Actual transaction prices, however, are the province of the dealer," Carney said, adding that a dealer zone manager will be discussing the price hike with the dealership. While we also reached out to the dealership over both the market value adjustment and the price of the Z06 as it appears on the company's website, we've yet to hear back as of this writing. Here is a video we've been waiting for, one that will get broadband fiber optic cables glowing like Hooker headers on a dyno. For Episode 62 of Head 2 Head, Motor Trend throws the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 into the bear pit with the latest Nissan GT-R Nismo. What comes out of that is seventeen minutes of don't-look-away video. We're only going to give you the specs. The 3,527-pound Z06 gets on with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 with 650 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, applied to the wheels via a seven-speed manual transmission. With the Z07 performance package appended it has a front splitter and winglets, and a three-section rear spoiler among its aero aids. The tested model also wore carbon ceramic brakes, which helped push its $89,985 MSRP out to $105,210. The 3,881-pound GT-R Nismo plays the underdog – again – with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 spitting out 600 hp and 481 lb-ft, yoked to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The GT-R left its 'performance bargain' days behind years ago, and this top-shelf version starts at $151,585 but has almost everything it can get, so the as-tested price was only a skosh more at $151,880.
