Custom Chevrolet S-10 S10 2 Door. 350 Small Block Professionally Done. Running! on 2040-cars
Springfield, Missouri, United States
Hey guys, what you are looking at is a truck I have had for years and a few years back I began customizing it and dropped in a 350 small block engine that was sent to GM and completely re-done before we built it. Im not trying to conceal anything but the truck is as is of course. I will go over everything that's been done and might need completion. Obviously it needs a new paint job. The entire truck has been sanded in the past but could use a good sanding before taking it for paint. The back is grey simply due to the fact I sprayed it down with a primer to prevent any serious rust issues from occurring. There is no significant rust on the body of the truck ie. holes, soft spots, damage. The truck has been kept in the garage at the house for the past couple years now so no significant exposure to the elements for some time. The lights work and most of the gauges are connected. The speedometer needs to be reconnected. The interior needs a little cosmetic work/finishing but nothing too serious unless you hate everything about it of course. In the photos it is very dusty due to leaving the windows down while in the garage. The door handles have been shaved off and it has door poppers set up but the main box is out that sends the signal to pop. There is a sunroof installed that is very big and very nice in the summer/night. It is manual and it can come out completely. It does not leak. The rear end has been tubbed for larger tires/wheels. The top of the bed is one solid piece so if you want to get fancy with a paint job you can. A tailgate is still on the back which does open up and locks. The front end has a custom valance, chrome bumper, and a custom billet grille. Im not sure you can even find those anymore since everyone who sees it wants to buy it off of me. The glass does have a nice size crack in the lower right passenger side from a battery falling out of a tool (awesome). The rear window is lexan with a spot for a license plate. The top break light on the cab has also been shaved off. I would try to complete this project as the most expensive and time consuming parts are primarily completed but I no longer have a lift, tools, and shop to work on it in. Just my garage and with a small child and a wife pushing me to get it out of the garage! Lets get to the expensive work.
Engine: Edlebrock Heads and Aluminum Valve Covers Edlebrock Carb intake 850 Holley 4 Barrell K-N chrome breather Electric Cooling fan 3/4 Insy Cam Shaft Dual exhaust 400 Turbo Auto transmission Custom Wheels and Tires Custom Shifter mounted in floor. Custom Hood for more airflow Before the engine was installed the body had around 115,000 miles on it. The interior is all changed now so I don't have the exact number. This engine was built and installed professionally by one of the head technicians at Reliable Chevrolet in Springfield MO. I won't publicly post his name but he has 15+ years experience and is a pro. I am not a pro and wanted this engine to be solid. A couple things on the engine is that I had planned to install a bigger electric fan simply because when you idle for too long it does get fairly hot in the summer. This thing sounds like a monster when you start it up, gas it, or idle. People simply don't expect the sound this thing emits. Most people turn to look expecting to see an older hot rod I am told. If you want to see this thing in person you can contact me via eBay and we can schedule a time. Im taking a big loss selling this thing so cheaply simply due to the cost of the engine which has very low miles on it. Under 100 on the engine but it does start and runs great. Even though I have stopped working on it I do fire it up at least every week and take it for a neighborhood drive. If you are not local/driving distance to pick this up in person I will require you to pay in full via paypal and set up your own shipper. (I will do whatever I can to assist but will not book or be responsible for shipping). Again this is a project truck, as-is, and I would suggest using a trailer to transport it simply due to missing mirrors and it screams getting pulled over initially. If you have any questions feel free to message and ask and I will do my best to answer. |

Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?
Sat, Sep 23 2017If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below. First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Sells For One Million Dollars
Mon, Apr 14 2014NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick loves buying first-built Chevrolet models for charity. He paid $1 million to buy the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible and $650,000 to get the first 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28. Hendrick's latest purchase happened at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach where he got into a bidding war to pay $1 million to get the first 2015 Corvette Z06. The bidding came quick with the car reaching $100,000 within 3 seconds and hitting $500,000 in about 35 seconds. The money from the sale was donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute. GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.
