 All Electric S10!
5 years ago I converted this 1987 Chevy S10 to an Electric Vehicle (EV).
I have driven it practically everyday to and from work and for local errands.
I want to make another EV and to do that I need to sell this one.
The truck is in excellent condition inside and out!
The trucks typical range is around 25+ miles Highway speeds and 50+ miles in stop and go traffic.
Top speed is near 70 MPH
The truck weighs exactly what it did when it had a gas engine!
On $3.76 (The price of 1 gallon of gas) the truck goes on Electricity for 126 Miles! (@ $.10/KW)
You will not find another S10 like this!
Since the initial conversion I have driven the truck for over 5 years and over 13,650 Miles.
The first 9000+ miles were on 29 golf cart batteries, which were replaced with 60 ea. 100 AH Lithium cells in March of this year.

The truck has the following components, all of which are top of the line EV Components!
60ea. 100 Amp Hour, HiPower Lithium Iron Phosphate Cells, LiFePo4
Ligoo Battery management System, with 7 inch touch screen display.
Motor, Net Gain, WarP 9 Series Wound DC Motor
Controller, Zilla, Z1K-HV-P, Hairball 2 Interface,1000 Max Motor Amps, 72 to 300 Battery Volts
Throttle Control, Hall Effect Petal Input (HEPI)
Battery Charger, Manzanita Micro, PFC20B, Input 60 to 250 Volts AC, Output: 12 to 360 Volts DC @ 30 Amps
Clutchless Conversion, stock 4 speed transmission.
1000 Watt Home Theater Sound System
Too Much more to list!!
I have over $28,000 invested in building this S10! The Lithium battery pack alone was over $9000

Former Fisker CEO has some advice for Tesla Motors

Wed, Oct 22 2014

Former Fisker Automotive CEO and ex-Chevrolet Volt vehicle-line director Tony Posawatz has some words of caution for Tesla Motors. The long-time automaker executive questions the California automaker's long-term viability – and gives some praise – in a talk with Benzinga, which you can listen to below. While the all-wheel-drive D that Tesla unveiled earlier this month in Southern California wowed a packed crowd, Posawatz (starting at around minute 4:45 in the interview) says Tesla would've been better off taking the resources it expended toward that Model S upgrade and directed them towards speeding up the development of a more affordable plug-in. Perhaps a number of investors agreed, since the company's stock fell the day after the D was announced. Posawatz says Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of ZEV credits. Posawatz also says that Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of zero-emissions vehicle credits in California for its earnings and questions whether the automaker will ever work at a large enough scale to sufficiently drive down costs and make consistent profits. Tesla CEO Elon Musk would take issue with this characterization. Posawatz first made his mark in the plug-in vehicle world when he was the vehicle-line director at General Motors for the Volt extended-range plug-in from 2006 to 2012. Later that year, he joined extended-range plug-in maker Fisker Automotive as its CEO, though quit that job during the summer of 2013 as the company was descending into insolvency. He joined the Electrification Coalition this past March. News Source: Benzinga Green Chevrolet Fisker Tesla Electric PHEV Tony Posawatz

Autoblog fan favorite car ads from Super Bowl XLIX

Mon, Feb 2 2015

Super Bowl XLIX is in the books, and the New England Patriots emerged victorious. Of course, if you're like us, the big game wasn't so much about the battle between the east coast and west, so much as a fight between the world's automotive advertisers. We collected and collated all of last night's new ads and put them together for you to vote on. And yes, we're limiting this year's contest to last night's new features. That's why you aren't seeing Dodge's epic Wisdom among our collection of commercials, and it's a similar story with Chevrolet's Truck Guy Focus Group series, which highlights the new Colorado. You can still vote for your favorites. We won't be closing the voting on our Super Bowl page, so while the winners and losers are correct as of this writing, it's entirely possible that there could be some changes in the rankings as time goes on. So, without any further ado, here are the winning ads based on your voting. Nissan: With Dad Fiat: Ready For Action Jeep: Beautiful Lands BMW: Newfangled Idea Mercedes-Benz: Fable NASCAR: America Start Your Engines As for those ads that failed to impact you, loyal readers, Toyota was the absolute, undisputed loser. The Japanese brand ran four ads in total – two for Toyota and two for Lexus – and all of them have negative tallies as of this writing. Lexus' Make Some Noise and Lets Play and Toyota's One Bold Choice and My Bold Dad both had very weak showings among the commercials that aired, although they weren't alone. Neither Mazda nor Kia scored particularly well, despite featuring celebrity magic act Penn and Teller and former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, respectively. Chevrolet was the winner of the losers, as of our writing, recording the fewest downvotes for its audience-punking The Big Game ad. If you want to take a second look at the losing ads, you can head back to our Super Bowl page for the complete collection. But for now, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the results.

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506

Thu, 02 May 2013

With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.
