2002 Chevy S-10 4x4 Zr2 Extended Cab on 2040-cars
Lafayette, Indiana, United States
We'll here is the deal... I bought this truck a couple months ago as a second truck that would allow me to use this as our farm truck and be a second auto if we needed it for anything. We also felt this could be our everyday auto for our daughter later next year when she gets her license. I like the truck a lot and would not even be selling it; however, just by luck I got the opportunity to purchase my late mother's Chevy 2005 Malibu from my niece just before they traded it into the dealer "OUCH"... I am very glad we got that car back as it is very nice and it is special to have my mom's car back since she has only been gone for 2 years. Anyway, I would love to keep this truck and drive it this winter in the snow, but I just can't justify have 3 vehicles just for me! So out of the 3 I have, this is the one that is going to get sold. Feel free to ask any questions you might have about the truck. I have fixed a few items since I have gotten it, like the gas gauge, the A/C (works great), and purchased 2 remote keyless entry fobs, fixed a few interior items like the light cap, added seat covers and floor mats. It is a great running truck, but at the end of the day it is 12 years old. There are a few paint chips, but I don't see any rust on the body and there are not significant dings. This would make a great everyday driver truck or a great 4x4 winter option for anyone that has a car they don't want to drive in snow. And this truck looks great and has the awesome ZR2 package. |

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
