I am a Retired Old Hot Rod Enthusiast and Old Truck Junky!  I buy, (repair if needed) and sell nice old trucks for a hobby, just don't make a lot of money doing it, but keeps me happy.

Up for sale is a hard to find Chevy S-10 Extreme Sportside. First old truck I've ever purchased used that is as nice as this one. I've washed, vacuumed, changed a turn signal bulb and that's it! The truck runs a 9+ on a scale of 10. Has a few nice options, such as; Custom Hood Scoop, Custom Rear Deck Lid, Custom Spoiler (never installed but painted to match the truck), Custom Dual Exhaust (great sound, not too loud but has a nice rumble), K and N Air Cleaner, Hypertech Power Programmer and a White Dash Board W/Flames Gauge Kit.

If you can, "please", test drive or have someone check it out for you. You/They won't be disappointed. For a truck with 148,000 miles it was extremely well taken care of and serviced regularly. I have a file, filled with service work orders, tire changes, emission tests (good until next year), rebuilt tranny receipts, AC compressor, and the list goes on.

Air conditioning runs "ICE COLD", "NO OIL LEAKS" whatsoever; (check out the garage floor picture).

Usually sell all my trucks locally, as Arizona is an; "Old Truck" Mecca; rust free bodies and such. Decided to give E-Bay a try; although, the truck is up for sale locally; auction could end early if sold.
Truck is Sold "AS IS; NO WARRANTY"

Car-Fax states 2 owners, but it is a 99.999%  Senior Owned and Driven; Purchased and Owned by a Retired Maricopa County Sherrifs Deputy (1rst  Owner bought new and Owned 13 years 2 months) , 2nd owner stored for 10 months (drove to keep things in good running order), tires need to driven a distance; little hard from sitting.

Will assist any buyer if truck has to be transported; "NO OVERSEES SHIPPING". Can pick up @ Phoenix International Airport or Scottsdale Airport if needed. $500.00 PayPal Deposit within 48 hours of auction ending and 7 days for remaining payment. "Funds must clear" before Title and Vehicle change hands. Have a clean and clear Title In Hand.

China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division

Wed, Jan 7 2015

An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.

2014 Chevrolet Malibu gets more torque, more room and inspiration from the Impala

Fri, 31 May 2013

The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu, having stared at the Impala across the showroom floor for a year, gets nips and tucks all over inspired by its larger brother. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base car will get a stop-start system and 23 city miles per gallon, 35 highway, each number representing a one-mpg improvement over the 2013 car. Output is 196 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque.
Opt for the 2.0-liter turbo and, while power holds steady at 259 hp, torque goes up by 14 percent to a striking 295 lb-ft (a figure Chevy calls best in the class). The final details include newly programmed transmission shift points and faster shifts, for better engaging and enjoying the added power.
Looks-wise, the grille's been reshaped to be more in line with the new Chevrolet look, a narrower upper grille hovering over a larger lower grille.

Best cars for snow and ice in 2023 and 2024

Tue, Jan 23 2024

What's the best car for snow? The real answer is "the one with winter tires." What do we mean by that? You could have the finest, most advanced all-wheel-drive system or four-wheel drive in the world, but if you're running all-seasons (the spork of tires), your fancy four-wheeler won't matter much. The odds are, any vehicle on the road running good winter tires will probably perform adequately in slippery, slushy and/or snowy road conditions. (Here's a more complete explanation of why winter tires are totally worth it). In other words, you don't really need any of the cars on this list. With a set of winter tires, countless others will do the job, and even these will be at their best with proper rubber. You can find a variety of winter tires for your car here at Tire Rack. Keep in mind that you will need a full set of four snow tires for safety and performance, no matter what you're driving. The days of your dad putting just two snows on the family truckster to get it moving in a straight line are long gone. Don't get us wrong, getting a car that performs well in snow and ice is still a worthy criteria for car buyers. According to the U.S. Transportation Department, 70% of Americans live in places that get snow and ice. And much of the country has been blasted with arctic air for much of the new year. So let's look at the cars. First, we're highlighting choices for a variety of buyers and price points. Second, we're not just considering snow; we're considering general wintery conditions people will experience driving to work or school. As such, these are all choices with advanced all-wheel-drive systems, usually with "torque-vectoring" systems that not only automatically shunt power front and back, but side to side between the rear axles. Most have extra ground clearance for getting through deep snow, and we prefer those vehicles with more responsive steering, throttles and transmissions that provide a greater sense of vehicle control in slippery conditions.    Acura RDX Read our Acura RDX Review Acura's Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive system was one of the first to offer torque-vectoring, and besides often being touted for its ability to greatly enhanced dry-road handling, its benefits in the slick stuff can be profound. It's actually surprising that Acura hasn't leaned into this capability further by offering more rugged versions of its vehicles.
