Hi I am selling my what I call unfinished project. I will get to the unfinished part later. What is it ? It is a 1996 chevy s-10 regular cab 2wd pickup it has a 1988 Camaro iroc engine and trans. The fuel injection was replaced with a edelbrock intake and rebuilt edelbrock carb with electric choke. The engine and tans have 68,000 miles on them. The truck has about 5 miles on it since put together ,many parts are new. It has a griffin radiator with 2 derale fans on a thermostat ,it runs all day at 180 degrees. under the hood almost all is new , distributor , wires , plugs ,belts , hoses ,alternator ,water pump ,starter etc.. The front brakes are new pads, rotors, bearings ,seals and calipers. New fuel pump and all new lines under the truck as well as braided under the hood. Truck has Bell drop spindles in front and drop springs and blocks for the rear not installed. The tires are Maxis p235/45R17 on black rock wheels that have only the 5 miles on them. The sanderson headers are used but have copper gaskets a stainless stage 8 locking bolts. The exhaust system is a aluminized summit 2 into one to 2 kit also new. It has a chassis mounted trans cooler from b&m and a lokar trans stick and tube. There is no tailgate but have a new pro-net for it. The body is in good shape no rust but some dings and scratches here and there. The worst body part is in the pics it had a dent in the left quarter that the guy before me tried to peen out. The rear is original and is not a posi. I believe it is 4:10 as it was a 5 speed 4 cyl and they only came that way. Interior is real good exept one seat rip. The shifter is a brand new b&m hammer shifter. Truck runs great and I must sell because of funds.I have a clean title and am selling it as is with no warranty. So what is unfinished and wrong. Well there is a small chip in the windshield, the rip in the seat, speedo does not work as it and the trans are electronic, The gas guage worked when I put the tank in but has stopped working for some reason. I bought it with the v-8 swap started so it already had all the ecm, emissions and related wiring ripped out. I made the harness fot the v-8 need and clean but no ecm or emissions capability. Truck is to be sold as an off road vehicle, buyer is responsible for legal compliance in his or her own state. I also have issue with the trans. it worked excellent in the Camaro but keeps changing shift points, it is a 700 so it will need the manual lock up kit installed and it shifts either to quick or not at all. there is a new TV cable but The adjustment must be off. Also I ran the wires from the shifter for backup lights but have not finished them. It needs the final touches to make it complete. I am asking $4500 but I must sell so don't be afraid to make a reasonable offer. It is for local pickup but would work with buyer on that. Please ask questions because I want a happy buyer I will be honest and frank about anything so ask.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
How GM engineers are using diaper 'snow' to keep you warm
Thu, Jan 8 2015Testing how snow affects General Motors' vehicles isn't really a problem right now for the company's engineers, but in the dog days of summer the process isn't exactly easy. The only real option is for them to book time at the automaker's climatic wind tunnel. However, a flash of brilliance from an engineer allows snow to be simulated regardless of the temperature outside, and the discovery is all because of his daughter's wet diaper. The realization came to GM Thermal Systems engineer Nicholas Jahn while he was swimming with his daughter and noticed how her diaper ballooned in size in the water. He found out the substance that makes this possible is called sodium polyacrylate. When the material gets wet it grows and forms fluffy flakes that are a close imitation of snow. Best of all, the stuff can be prepared easily any time of the year, and it's reusable. The engineering team uses the material to test the effectiveness of the heating systems of GM's vehicles. They spread the sodium polyacrylate over the inlets at the base of the windshield to obstruct the airflow and then crank the heater. After some time, they can see how much is being sucked into the system and design more efficient systems in the future. See how the process works in the video above and read about the diaper discovery in GM's press release below. Diapers Change Chevy Cruze Winter Warm-up Time GM validation engineer uses diaper material "snow" to reduce frigid drives 2015-01-06 DETROIT – An item commonly found on an infant's changing table is helping General Motors' engineers simulate snow year round, ensuring heating systems in cars like the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze can quickly and efficiently warm its interior. Packed snow can prevent air from entering the inlet panel at the bottom of the windshield, obstructing the flow of air into the heating system and reducing the amount of air it can push out. This can lead to less efficient warming of the car's interior and windshield defrosting. "The last thing anyone wants to do when it's freezing cold out is scrape their windshield," said Nicholas Jahn, GM Vehicle Thermal Systems engineer. "The testing we perform on the Chevrolet Cruze with the diaper material allows us to maximize the car's heating capabilities." Ironically, Jahn stumbled upon his diaper-based testing method in the middle of summer. During a swim with his daughter, he noticed her diaper multiplied in size when it came into contact with water.
