1995 Solectria Chevy S-10 Electric Truck

THIS IS NOT A CONVERSION!!!

This is a nice 1995 Chevy S-10 electric truck made by Solectria (which is still in business to this day making it easier to replace any parts when necessary)...This trk was used as a maintence truck for a large plant on the west coast...it only has 31k original miles...i have owned the truck for about 2 1/2 yrs...primarily used trk for errand and chores around the farm...

Features:

Max speed: 70mph (currently will reach 55mph)

Max distance: 50 miles (currently will reach 25-35 miles...distance can be lengthened by lithium batteries)

Positrack rear drive: two AC drive motors (one on each side)

Regenitave braking: return pwr back to batteries during braking

Power Steering

Power Brakes

A/C

Heat

Tilt Wheel

AM/FM/ CD Radio

144v system: can run off 12-12v batteries or 24- 6v batteries (currently has 24-6v Deka AGM batteries installed 2/2010)....system can be charged from regular 110v outlet or 220v outlet...(currently wired with a 110v plug)

This truck needs the batteries to be de-sulfated or replaced to achieve max performance...however everything works.. clean interior...several paint scuffs and scraps on the bed of truck...there is a hole in the tailgate from where a trailer came off the ball and punched a hole in tailgate..see pics.. (remember this was a maintence truck) it drives great.. no play in the wheel..tracks straight..

I have seen the Ford Ranger EVs sell on Ebay for $10,000 with dead original battery pack (and buyer would have to not only change batteries but also electronics to make them wrk again because Ford no longer sells the electronics) this is a great opportunity to pick up a great little EV with all the bells and whistles for a STEAL!!!!!

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible headed for Geneva debut

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.

Use this PowerPoint when convincing your spouse to let you buy a Corvette

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.
