1991 Chevy S-10 Ext. Cab Pick-up / Drug Seizure / No Reserve on 2040-cars
Goodlettsville, Tennessee, United States
For your consideration is a 1991 Chevrolet S-10 Tahoe extended cab pick-up truck. This S-10 is a drug seizure and is the property of the City of Millersville Tennessee Police Department. It has been deemed surplus and saleable by the City Commission. The winning bidder will receive a copy of the court forfeiture order as well as the city resolution which you can use to obtain a new title with. The truck is in poor to fair condition and was running fine when it was placed in storage in September of 2013. It has been garage kept and not started since that date. There are exterior and interior issues. There are several dents/dings on the exterior along with some missing chrome pieces, body molding, etc. The interior has had some modifications to it. The factory radio is not there and some custom gauges have been added. It needs a good cleaning as well. It is equipped with a 4.3L V6 engine with automatic transmission. This truck is being offered here with no reserve. This S-10 can be seen at Millersville City Hall Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5;00pm, by making an appointment with Randy at 615-859-0880. GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series
Thu, 31 Oct 2013During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.

2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in
Sat, 15 Jun 2013You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.
